Staying here was an excellent start to our Paris trip! It's a nice neighborhood that you can tell people actually live in, but still plenty for a tourist to enjoy, do, and see. There are two close by Metro stops, Pigalle and St. George.

The rooms here are small, but that is to be expected with it being Paris. I appreciated our balcony (top floor rooms only) and the view of the top of the Sacre Couer. We did not keep our balcony door open at night because they have AC in this hotel, and had no issues with the music from across the street as described in other reviews (and I am sensitive to noise).

Riding in the elevator in the morning was amazing, as it smelled like fresh bread from the boulangerie next door (I guess this is why).

The service was excellent all-around, and I would definitely stay here again and recommend anyone else too as well!

Fantastisk beliggenhet. Små rom, men rene og fine. Hyggelig betjening. Nye vinduer med god lydisolering. Aircondition. Litt lytt fra gangen og mellom rommene. Supertrang heis.

Charming hotel, with small but very comfortable and clean rooms. Perfect location, although it can be a bit noisy on some nights. The service is very good, with a nice restaurant and a pleasant atmosphere. A perfect place for a romantic getaway in Paris.

I’ve generally enjoyed my stays at Pigalle Experimental, on my work trips. The rooms are of good quality, the hotel itself is pleasant, and the area is lovely. I also like the La Bruket products, which are a nice touch. However, this stay was marred by a couple of issues.

Firstly, there’s a very loud bar just across the street, which stays open until 2 AM every night. Even on weekdays, the noise from people singing and making a lot of noise is a major disruption, which made it hard to get a good night’s sleep.

Secondly, the breakfast experience this time wasn’t great. The breakfast service was run by only one woman, who seemed very stressed. While I understand it’s unfair to expect her to manage everything alone, it still impacted the overall experience. Our order was delayed by about an hour, and when it arrived, it was wrong. To make matters worse, we were charged for two menus, even though we didn’t order that many. We didn’t make a fuss at checkout, but when we returned to collect our luggage later, the same waitress was speaking in French to her colleagues at the reception, making sure I had paid the full breakfast amount. I found this behavior rather unkind, especially since we had been polite throughout. She seemed to direct her frustration at us (we were an easy target—friendly and patient), while she was clearly stressed by the large group she was dealing with. She wouldn’t have dared to show them the same attitude, as they were less friendly than us. VERY BAD ATTITUDE is what we received, instead of an apology or any attempt to make up for the messed-up breakfast experience.
Because of these issues, I’m considering trying a different hotel next time. Overall, I’ve had good experiences here before, but this stay was less enjoyable due to these downsides.

Very happy with my stay. Rooms are as shown in pictures (the basic rooms are fairly small, as with most city hotels), service was very good (French/English) and the location is perfect. The bed was very comfortable and the room has everything you’d expect, other than I don’t think there was a kettle (not a big deal for me). There was some outside noise during the stay (it’s a popular area at night) but the windows blocked out the majority of the noise. If you are a very sensitive sleeper and/or stay at a time of year when you need the windows open, that’s worth keeping in mind. I would recommend and would stay here again, though another person staying in the hotel told me that their sister hotel grands boulevards is better so maybe that’s what I’ll do next time!

Honestly could not rate this place higher! An absolute gem nestled in the heart of Paris, offering a vintage charm close to the vibrant activity of Pigalle's night life. Service was 10/10 and really appreciated the welcome message they wrote on our mirror. Room decor was exactly what I was expecting and the bed was almost to comfortable! Location is perfect as you are less than a 10 min cab from the Eurostar & 20-30 min max from anything else. Will definitely be back!

Pleasant stay in a superior room. Large, by Parisian standards and the bathroom likewise. Front desk was friendly and efficient. Tres Bien.

We were in Paris just 24 hours but we loved the Grand Pigalle. While the hotel is nice, clean, and has comfortable beds, the Manager Alexandre is what makes this place special. He was so kind and welcoming to us after an extremely long travel day. Alexandre is one of the kindest people we have ever met, and his dedication to his profession shows through the amazing hotel.

We had an amazing stay at the Grand Pigalle Experimental! The location was spot-on, making it super easy to get around Paris. We loved the vibe of the room, it was clean, and really comfortable—a great place to relax after a day out.

We got lucky with an early check-in, and every person we spoke to at the Front Desk was so friendly and helpful.

We definitely recommend staying here, and we'll for sure be back the next time we're in Paris!

The staff and location of this hotel is great. The rooms are well appointed and stylish, and the restaurant downstairs is busy and delicious. But unfortunately this hotel has a CARBON MONOXIDE problem. We stayed on the top floor and every morning the exhaust from the bakery downstairs gets pumped into the room. I’m not talking about a nice smell, I’m talking about an overwhelming stench of baked goods. Just the smell woke me up. Because the ovens for the bakery somehow are vented into the room, so too is the carbon monoxide, which is a natural byproduct of cooking. I always travel with a carbon monoxide meter, and the alarm on it went off three mornings in a row. Was it enough to hurt healthy people like us? Maybe if we stayed in the room all day, but we quickly opened the windows and that fixed it. But I worry about an elderly person or someone with breathing difficulties. So yeah, not safe. I really hope they fix it.

It's a couple of blocks from the edge of MontMartre and Moulin Rouge. Safe, restaurants and cafes nearby. Try Cafe Ventura just down the road. You can see the top of Sacre Coeur. It has rooms with tiny balconies that my son loved. A very small elevator, 2 person max, not conducive to wheelchairs. Tight squeeze but serves. The rooms are nice and the air conditioning works very well. We were there at the end of June.

Location was perfect. The staff were great, and gave us an early check in… but the rooms are more dated than cool. There’s a tired look to them. Like they didn’t really bother to do much when they took over the building. The location is really spot on though for cool, non super touristy Paris

Avis restaurant

Dommage !

Hospitable and welcoming, from the attentive staff to the well appointed rooms and the excellent meals conveniently at hand, Grand Pigalle ticks all the boxes for a brilliant value hotel. Which is not to say that it's cheap, but you do feel that every centime is well spent. The neighborhood became our neighborhood while we were visiting Paris and we fell into the habit of saying, at day's end, "let's go home," meaning home to Grand Pigalle.

We visited in January which may be why we found the location quiet and restful. I cannot vouch for volume levels during peak travel season, but I suspect the convenience of the location would more than offset the irritation of any street noise.

I would stay here a hundred times more if I could!
The rooms are super cute, very Parisian and the staff and amenities at the hotel are all worth it. The location is close to pigalle station on the metro and a quick 20 minute walk to Gare du Nord. When we arrived on the train, we walked to the hotel and found it with ease.
Our plans changed and we had to change our stay to just one night in this hotel, so when I changed the booking, I picked a regular room. When we arrived, the staff were so warm and welcoming and they even upgraded us to the grand room, so that was a nice surprise to us! It made our quick stay just that much more memorable. The room had a view of the streets and the buildings around, but still was fairly quiet at night and for being a relatively popular area.
The bed was comfortable, and the room had a lot of space.
The restaurant on the ground floor has a lot of great options, highly recommend.

Just checked out after several days here. We became sick with food poisoning almost immediately upon arrival (unrelated to the hotel), so spend most of the time in our room.

Biggest takeaway is that the walls are SO thin. We could fully hear every word spoken in the room across the hall from ours. The halls, elevators, and rooms are cramped and dark. We were woken up several times by drunk guests walking up the stairwell because all the walls are so thin. We slept every night with white noise and ear plugs.

Every time someone in the hallway walked through or unlocked or opened the door or spoke in the hallway, we could hear it as if it were our own. The single elevator couldn’t fit the two of us with minimal luggage.

The staff was kind though.

Ultimately, I don’t think this felt like a 4 star hotel, and I wouldn’t stay here again.

We had a fantastic stay at the Grand Pigalle! The staff here are super friendly and happy to serve you. The rooms are small but perfect with a very comfortable bed and black out curtains. We also enjoyed the complimentary coffee in our room. Hotel is very well situated for getting around Paris. We are so happy to have stayed here for New Year! Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful stay here. The location was perfect, lots of great places to eat close by as well as the hotel restaurant.
The best thing was how kind the staff were, in particular Alex. He was so kind and thoughtful. On our last day, he purchased a box of madelines for our daughter (simply because I said she liked them). These little touches are truly special. Thanks for a lovely stay.

We planned to stop 2 nights, left after one night as there was a leak in the ceiling and no other rooms available - was left with the option of staying in a room with a bucket catching the water or finding an alternative hotel ourselves.

Beware of rooms on the first floor, ours was near the kitchen vent and it smelled of frying, so we moved rooms (unfortunately to a smaller room, which then had a water leak).

Great location and nice breakfast but can't recommend due to the fact the first room smelled horrible and the second room was smaller and we then had to move at 10pm at night.....

Hotel refunded the second night as we didn't stop there, didn't offer any compensation for the fact we had to move hotel at 10pm with no assistance.
