This exquisitely-appointed facility has all the modern comforts spaciously outfitted in a delightful complex of historic structures. And, it's location within the historic core of the village is phenomenal!|And, the on-site management is always willing to help and offer sugestions.

We stayed in the Montesquieu apartment, with 2 bedrooms each with queen-size bed, for 5 nights. The apartment was charming and comfortable, with a salon area, dining area and small kitchenette (stove, fridge, dishwasher, no oven). The balcony (featured in the movie The Duellists) was fantastic! It was a great base for us to visit the Dordogne Noir, including the Vezere Valley and the Dordogne Valley.|The apartment is in the pedestrian area of Sarlat, so the parking is at least a 5minute walk away. Dropping off our luggage, and also loading up the car on way out was a bit complicated, so don't wait till the last minute to figure it out! The hotel sent me 2 emails with explanations right before our arrival, so keep an eye out for that.|Since this is technically a gite, there is not 24/24 reception, but they have a system to get your keys from a code-locked box if you arrive after reception closes, so again read the email from them!

Absolument parfait tant l'accueil, la disponibilité, la propreté et l'emplacement.
Ma chambre était petite (comme son prix)et sans vue.
La difficulté pour se garer est pour moi rédhibitoire, mais je conseille vivement cet établissement.

I was very happy with the spacious and well designed apartment. While a small residence the staff were always available and extremely helpful and friendly. The breakfast was perfectly sufficient, though given the price not abundant. The location is perfect and the town offers all within an easy walking distance.

Surprise pour un Sejour romantique: Cet hôtel est plein de charme, l accueil est chaleureux , la chambre était très belle, très propre et avec une excellente literie.|Le petit déjeuner était correct, la possibilité d avoir une place de parking est un réel confort . Nous avons passé une seule nuit dans cet établissement mais les appartements sont spacieux, propres et bien entretenu. Le petit déjeuné est copieux et de qualité. Le personnel est très sympathique.

Le séjour aurait été parfait si le réceptionniste n avait pas l erreur d omettre par 2 fois chaque matin de notre séjour nos petits déjeuners payés à l avance. Nous sommes arrivés à 10h pour des petits déjeuners servis jusqu'à 11h et tout était déjà débarrassé, rattraper son erreur en proposant d aller à "La Mie Caline" à côté ne cadrait pas avec le reste des prestations de l établissement. Un peu plus de sérieux à l accueil est souhaitable.
Le matelas de la chambre Ronsard est "vallonné", il mériterait peut-être d'être remplacé de mon point de vue.

Loved our stay here. Great room and great location in Sarlat. A big thanks to wonderful reception staff Valentin and Cloise for their extra help when our luggage went astray and they helped with laundry and also sent a suitcase on to UK when it arrived after we left. Amazing service and kindness!

Beware, location is not anywhere near car drop off. You must lug your suitcases multiple blocks. There is no elevator, you must carry your luggage up a spiral wooden staircase with a loose rope handrail. 2nd floor is actually 3rd floor. Not made known prior to arrival. Offsite parking (paid) is ten blocks away. There is no on site parking. Demand photos of your room first. Was not told of no car drop off until within days of arrival. Worst bait and switch ever. Can’t dissuade everyone enough.

Hotel excelente, dentro de la ciudad antigua, justo sobre la calle principal. Muy tranquilo y con habitaciones elegantes y completas. El patio interior es una delicia para desayunar y pasar el tiempo. Muy amables desde recepción dando facilidades y consejos sobre la ciudad y donde aparcar. Una maravilla a buen precio.

Nous ne sommes restés qu’une nuit mais la chambre était parfaite : spacieuse, très joliment décorée et parfaitement équipée. L’accueil très professionnel et très agréable. La villa des consuls est idéalement située ce qui permet de flâner en plein centre ville. Nous reviendrons avec plaisir !

Parfaitement situé et équipé, propre, calme. Reception très sympathique et efficace. Idéal pour rayonner dans le Périgord tout en étant au centre de la somptueuse Sarlat, le tout dans une résidence de caractère au charme fou !

Installée dans un bâtiment ancien et rénové voici quelques années, cette villa des consuls offre un hébergement de qualité pour un prix plus que raisonnable. L'accès depuis la rue principale se fait par une rampe très praticable mais qui ne sera pas toujours le plus aisé notamment pour ceux qui ont du mal à se déplacer. Pas de stationnement sur place mais des places existent dans un garage tout proche pour un coût abordable. A l'intérieur, des escaliers permettent d'accéder aux chambres. Hormis ce léger désagrément (dont vous êtes parfaitement informé à la réservation) le bâtiment présente le charme de l'ancien (poutre apparentes, tomettes, pierres, petit jardinet) et une décoration de bon goût. On apprécie le calme du lieu et l'accueil impeccable du personnel. Notre chambre est spacieuse avec tout le confort et les équipements requis. Petit déjeuner continental avec des produits frais et locaux. Une adresse à recommander pour un séjour sarladais.

It was perfect for us. We received a warm welcome, made some friends, and watched the swallows at dusk from our private deck eating Fois Gras and drinking the local wine. (Thank you, Valentin!!!) We kayaked, ate, toured prehistoric caves, and Medieval castles. And Josephine Baker’s Chateau was 15 minutes away. A perfect base and we look forward to our return!

I highly recommend a stay at La Villa des Consuls when visiting Sarlat-la-Canéda or the surrounding area & cannot say enough great things about my stay there. The hotel is located in the pedestrian only, historical centre of Sarlat & each room is unique, well appointed & a good value. The continental breakfast features daily fresh, local specialities. But what sets this hotel apart is the manager & its staff. Valentin was gracious & helpful above & beyond what anyone has a right to expect. He contacted a pharmacy for me, offered to help when others I was travelling with ran into problems with their Sarlat accommodations (La Villa des Consuls was already fully booked), helped with confirming flights, etc. As well as making great recommendations for nearby restaurants & activities. This is a truly wonderful & charming hotel to visit!

The accommodation was excellent with all we needed for a perfect short stay . We could self cater which was perfect and we had a wonderful outside seating, dining, sunbathing area as well which was lovely for relaxing in the sun or out. Our room was Richelieu with excellent air conditioning in our bedroom and extremely spacious.We were within a very short walk of the centre with lots of restaurants ,shops and bars all around us . Our hire car could be effortlessly parked just a short walk away from the hot in dedicated secure parking. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly and spoke perfect English. We will definitely recommend

La Villa des Consuls is in a perfect location to explore the city of Sarlat. It's just above the main shopping street, so everything is within easy walking distance, yet it is very quiet and private. Although our apartment was somewhat dated, it was very clean and offered everything we needed and wanted at a reasonable price. Communication was excellent via timely texts, as well as great directions for getting to the parking garage. We would definitely stay here again.

If you opt for the continental breakfast there is a good choice of pastries, rolls, yogurt, fruit etc with a help yourself hot drink machine.
The staff are so helpful and friendly and booked several excursions and arranged taxis for me. Thank you Valentin and Clois. I hope to return one day.
