We stayed at Le Temps Retrouvé for four nights and absolutely loved it! Frederic and Jozsef were such kind and thoughtful hosts. Always ready to help, with a wonderful list of local tips and restaurant recommendations.||The house itself is so beautiful, with a peaceful garden, a lovely pool, and a calm, welcoming atmosphere. It’s just a few minutes’ walk to the town centre, where you’ll find plenty of great places to eat.||Breakfast was a daily treat, always fresh and different, with delicious local cheeses, meats, and other goodies. And their sweet dog Olia made it feel even more like home.||We already look forward to coming back one day. Staying here really made our Dordogne trip - it turned a great holiday into something truly memorable.

The house itself is so beautiful, with a peaceful garden, a lovely pool, and a calm, welcoming atmosphere. It’s just a few minutes’ walk to the town centre, where you’ll find plenty of great places to eat.

Breakfast was a daily treat, always fresh and different, with delicious local cheeses, meats, and other goodies. And their sweet dog Olia made it feel even more like home.

We already look forward to coming back one day. Staying here really made our Dordogne trip - it turned a great holiday into something truly memorable.

En Juin 2025 nous avons passé une semaine dans la demeure de Frédéric et Jozsef "Le Temps retrouvé". La belle demeure se situe dans un grand parc avec des arbres centenaires. Elle possède beaucoup de charme et est aménagée avec goût. On peut profiter au rez-de-chaussée d'un très beau salon. Les chambres spacieuses sont d'une propreté irréprochable. Des liseuses et un coffre-fort dans chaque chambre sont à la disposition des occupants. Malgré les températures élevées à l'extérieur le thermomètre ne dépassait pas 22 degrés dans la maison, ce qui était très agréable. En haut du parc se trouve une piscine avec des transats, une douche et des parasols. Frédéric apporte gentiment une eau citronnée bien fraîche aux personnes profitant de la piscine. Les serviettes de bain sont fournies. Le petit déjeuner est servi dans la véranda qui donne sur le parc. On a le choix entre un petit déjeuner sucré ou salé. Tout est d'une grande qualité.|Frédéric et Jozsef sont des hôtes très accueuillants, attentifs, sympathiques et toujours prêts à rendre service. Ils nous ont donné beaucoup de conseils concernant les restaurants de la ville et les visites à faire.|Nous ne pouvons que recommander cette splendide demeure pour passer un super séjour dans la ville de Sarlat et ses environs.

We recently spent 6 memorable nights at Le Temps Retrouve. Frederic and Josef are exceptional hosts. They take the time to familiarize themselves with their guests and their interests and go more than the extra mile to please. Breakfast will spoil you. It’s served with fresh bread, fruit and a variety of jams in a bright glass-enclosed room at the time of your choice. We’ve stayed at many inns in the US and Europe and Le Temps Retrouve is unparalleled in hospitality, ambiance and overall excellence.

We just spent 2 days at Le Temps Retrouvé as part of a two week holiday in France. The house is beautifully decorated throughout in art deco style with perfect attention to detail. The property is set in its own grounds and provides private and secure parking. We were greeted with a warm welcome on our arrival and the same attention to detail was applied to service for the duration of our stay. Frederic & Jozsef are fantastic hosts and great ambassadors for Sarlat and the Dordogne region. We would definitely recommend this place for anyone visiting the Dordogne region. Our only disappointment was that we hadn’t booked a longer stay. There is so much to see and do in this area we will definitely be returning.

I had the most wonderful stay here. The property is a dream - immaculately presented and amazing attention to detail with great furnishing and art. I noticed fresh flowers in virtually every room and the gardens are amazing for wandering or relaxing. The peaceful ambience really is perfection! I had the Josephine suite which was so beautiful and so comfortable it was hard to leave it to enjoy everything else. It has a lovely private balcony - and even a full size coffee machine with beans. The breakfast is excellent too. It’s a very short walk into Sarlat where there are plenty of restaurants. I hope to return - and to explore the area more fully next time. Thank you Frederic and Jozsef!

Our stay at Le Temps Retrouvé was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to France! |The house is an absolute delight to the senses. Both the sitting rooms, and each individual bedroom, are furnished with carefully selected artworks and decor to create such a wonderful elegant atmosphere. |The extensive garden was so peaceful - it was magical to stroll around the different paths amongst the lovely trees or sit at one of the outdoor sitting areas and admire the flowers. |Frederic is such a welcoming host with an impeccable attention to detail. His carefully curated savoury and/or sweet breakfasts of local fruits, cheeses, eggs, bread and jams were the best we had in our five week tour of France. (Frederic’s homemade blackberry jam was to-die-for!! ????). His suggestions for restaurants or activities were always spot-on! Olia their beautiful dog was also very friendly and lovable.|Secure off street parking is available. The property is a short 5 minute walk to the medieval city of Sarlat-la- Caneda, and is close to the train station. It is also in the heart of the beautiful Dordogne region where there is so much to experience. |We felt so relaxed and recharged after our stay at LTR. We cannot recommend LTR highly enough, and look forward to returning someday!

Each time I come back to Le Temps Retrouvé, it feels like coming home. Frédéric, Jozsef, and their sweet dog Olia always welcome me like a friend, with the same warmth and attention to detail that make this place so special.||Somehow, every stay manages to be even better than the last – a true testament to the passion and dedication of the hosts. I had another incredible massage, deeply relaxing as always.||Honestly, the only downside is that there’s no loyalty card… I must have earned platinum status by now! ????||Le Temps Retrouvé remains one of those rare places that somehow manages to exceed expectations, no matter how often you return. And I know I’ll be back again soon.

Venu pour un week-end prolongé à Sarlat, le lieu est idéal pour se détendre et visiter la vieille ville, à quelques minutes à pieds, mais aussi les jardins remarquables et châteaux, nombreux dans la région. La maison, magnifiquement décorée, est au cœur d'un grand parc avec piscine. Les chambres sont très spacieuses et confortables, les hôtes aux petits soins. Petits déjeuners ++++ Un séjour parfait :)

J'avais besoin de quelques jours de repos, et retourner chez Le Temps Retrouvé a été la meilleure décision que j’aie prise. J’ai même annulé la location de voiture pour profiter pleinement du lieu pendant l’un des ponts du mois de mai.||Pour ceux qui s’y rendent pour la première fois, je ne recommande pas de faire comme moi : la région regorge de merveilles à découvrir. Mais, pour ma part, j'avais besoin de calme, de siestes l'après-midi et de savourer la sérénité de cet endroit magnifique.||Lors de ce séjour, j’ai eu la chance de profiter d’un massage avec Debbi, organisé par Jozsef et Frédéric – que je recommande vivement !||Un séjour parfait, comme toujours. Je pense déjà à la prochaine fois.

Si vous cherchez une maison d’hôtes exceptionnelle, vous êtes au bon endroit. Pas besoin de voiture pour se rendre dans Sarlat. Chambre équipée dans les moindres détails, propreté irréprochable, nécessaire à café et thé, décoration sublime, petit déjeuner délicieux avec la touche artistique de Jozsef. Piscine et spa fortement appréciés. On se sent à la maison. Frédéric, Jozsef et leur chienne Olia resterons à coup sur dans vos mémoires ????????

J'ai eu le plaisir de séjourner dans cette magnifique maison d'hôtes et je ne peux que la recommander chaleureusement. Dès notre arrivée, nous avons été accueilli par Frédéric et Jozsef incroyablement attentionnés et chaleureux qui ont su rendre le séjour inoubliable. Leur souci du détail et leur volonté de s'assurer que chaque moment soit parfait sont vraiment remarquables.
La maison elle même est un véritable havre de paix, décorée avec goût et offrant tout le confort nécessaire. Les petit-déjeuners préparés avec soin étaient un régal.
Si vous chercher un endroit où vous sentir chez vous, ne chercher pas plus loin....jai hâte d'y retourner...merci aux hôtes.

Every aspect of our stay was exceptional: the decor was stunning and tasteful, the bed was very comfortable, the breakfast was delicious with many choices for all tastes, the property was peaceful and full of flowers, Frederic was incredibly friendly and helpful and a delight to interact with. He added all kinds of little touches that went above and beyond, and had great suggestions for restaurants and places to visit in the area. Our stay was definitely a highlight of our two weeks in France.

I spent 7 days in this little piece of heaven. My friends had previously stayed here and raved about it. I can tell you I was not disappointed. As the wrought iron gates opened and we walked up the long drive revealing a magnificent house surrounded by a tranquil, beautiful garden shaded by giant old trees. We were greeted with a warm welcome by the host and of course the dog, Olia. The house is full of treasures, books, paintings, sculptures and so on.|My room was beautiful overlooking the gardens. The bed was heaven with a fluffy light doona to snuggle under.|Nothing was too much trouble, Frederic ensured we were always comfortable and had everything we needed. Even providing us with suggestions of where to eat and what to see. Breakfast every morning was a delight, as Frederic surprised us with a selection of pastries, bread and fresh fruit, sourced from local producers and oh so fresh.|Thank you Frederic for your impeccable hospitality.|I was sad to say goodbye but be assured I will be back.

We stayed as a couple at LTR approximately 18 months ago, and have raved about our stay ever since. Two of our friends decided to join us for this stay.|Would the experience for them be as we had described, or would LTR have been so hyped up by our description that the real experience was not quite as good as we had said?|From the moment, the wrought iron gates swung open, we had no fears. Our friends were already going "Wow" as we went up the gentle curve of the driveway and when the house came into view, our friends were speechless, as were we. LTR was exactly as we remembered and the welcome was as warm as ever.|The house and the rooms were still impeccably styled and furnished, the beds were as comfortable as we remembered, and you could feel the stress and the tension just melt away.|Breakfast was simple but delicious, with everything, where possible, sourced locally.|Advice was provided on where to go and what to see in the area.|Restaurants were only recommended if our hosts had eaten there and they were happy to make bookings for us. We were never disappointed.|The grounds have many places where you can sit and read, listen to the birds, watch the squirrels or simply admire the extensive gardens and woodlands around the house.|We are already planning our next stay sp that we can continue our exploration of the Perigord Noir.

Le Temps Retrouvé is the most beautifully decorated home I have ever seen. The chateaux pale in comparison! Frederic and Jozsef are warm, wonderful hosts who have created an Art Deco haven in the middle of an elegant property in Sarlat-la- Caneda. Staying with them was a highlight of our trip to France. Their attention to detail extends to the care of their guests. We look forward to returning someday!

I spent 2 nights and 3 wonderful days in this wonderful Chambre d'haute. Frédéric and Jozsef are probably the warmest and most welcoming hosts I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. You feel welcome from the very first moment and very much like you are at home with friends. The rooms are lovingly decorated, the excellent breakfast is lovingly prepared and served. The beautiful pool and garden invite you to relax and linger. Probably the most heartwarming and relaxing vacation experience I ever had. We absolutely loved our time at Le Temps Retrouvé ! Hosts Jozsef and Frédéric take incredible care of their guests and are passionate about every detail in their beautiful decorated house. You can easily walk to the center of Sarlat in 15 minutes, and return to an oasis of relaxation each day! When traveling to the Dordogne region, don't miss this spot - you are in easy access of all the region's cultural and culinary gems!

Parfait: 5/5, et plus encore :
Chambres, service, emplacement ( à côté de la rue commerçante principale de Sarlat, et moins de 10 mn - à pieds mous - du plein centre historique magnifique de Sarlat ! ).
De plus : accueil -très- chaleureux et convivial. La maison et le parc arboré sont superbes et le confort, haut de gamme! Donc, globalement : 6/5 !

Superbes maison et chambres où tout est pensé dans le moindre détail pour que vous passiez un excellent séjour. Les 5 ⭐️ des avis sont plus que mérités. Situation excellente pour se balader à pied dans Sarlat et être à la fois au calme. Un grand merci à Frédéric et Jozsef pour leur accueil prévenant! Ils donnent à cette maison un supplément d'âme. LTR is a place of elegant comfort. The rooms and sitting areas have been exquisitely designed and were spotless.
We loved the 4 acres of parkland that was meticulously maintained and in such close proximity to the old town.
Most important was Fredric’s hospitality.
He was so caring and attentive and from the minute we arrived, we could tell he wanted to ensure our stay was perfect- and perfect it was!
Breakfasts were amazing with great care taken to provide fresh, local & delicious homemade products.
This was by far the best place we’ve ever stayed in Europe.
Fredric, thank you for a wonderful, memorable 4 days. We will return one day and hope to meet Jozsef !

We recently had the good fortune to spend some time at LTR.
From the moment we entered the gates, we knew we had found somewhere special. The photos on the website do not do justice to the gardens and the beautifully decorated house.
Only 5 minutes walk from the historic centre of Sarlat-la-Canéda, LTR is nestled in over a hectare of parkland, a combination of artfully prepared gardens and semi-wild woodland which is home to squirrels, birds and other wildlife.
The 150 year old farmhouse has been beautifully renovated to provide a lush art deco home away from home. Our hosts, Frédéric & Jozsef, make you feel instantly that you are more than guests. The salon, library and conservatory are cosy places to sit and relax and there are many places to sit, relax and take in the ever changing views in the grounds.
The rooms are tastefully decorated, and with very comfortable seating and beds and a safe in the room for valuables. The ensuites are well planned with good lighting.
Breakfast is served in the conservatory and is sourced from a local farm cooperative, and the baguettes and pastries come from a carefully selected boulangerie every day. The juice is freshly made and the coffee is excellent. Ample parking is provided on-site for those wishing to visit the surrounding area with two electric vehicle charging stations available as well.
As a special treat, you can book the on-site spa, hammam and jacuzzi or laze by the pool.
We cannot recommend LTR highly enough.
