Superb accommodation in a chateau overlooking the river Dronne. We stayed in the dog friendly garden Pavilion next to the river. Extremely comfortable, spacious and well equipped (with a log burner for cooler nights), with a huge private garden and river promenade. Kay was a wonderful and helpful host, and nothing was too much trouble, with bookings made for meals out and great suggestions for things to do and places to visit. A fantastic place to stay, and I hope we’ll get the chance to do so again in future.

Kay was a perfect host, extremely kind and helpful. The castle and the location are amazing. It is like being on a film set. Very beautiful. The wild swimming in the river is just 50m away from the castle (take some old trainers to make getting in and out easy). Lots of great places to visit near by - there are many villages with little beaches - Aubeterre-sur-Dronne, L’Isle, Brantome. We took our electric car and the charging point in the village (again 50m away) was generally fine. It’s a lot easier if you buy a Chargemap rfid card before you go to France. We had the best time.

The Senechaux suite is one of three available to guests at the chateau. Also in the chateau, in the building opposite the suite, live the owners themselves - a hospitable couple from Great Britain who bought an abandoned castle, renovated it and literally turned it into a piece of art. The suite is very beautiful, comfortable, decorated with exceptional authenticity and taste, both overall and down to the last fork and glass. The suite has a large area, a lot of air and sunlight, and has both sunny sides and shade. It is comfortable both in hot weather (there are fans on each floor) and in cool weather (radiators and a fireplace). There is also space for relaxation inside the chateau: a terrace and a lounge area. Around: a green square, an authentic restaurant with fusion cuisine (it’s delicious!), a castle museum with a well-kept garden.||The hosts, Kay and David, are always and exceptionally friendly, always ready to help and proactively suggesting interesting locations and sights to see and restaurants to try. We had a case when we ordered a taxi that was supposed to take us to the train station, and it broke down just 5 minutes before reaching us. Having known this, Kay brought us to the station in her car. She also makes very tasty breakfasts ))||The village itself is small but very beautiful. And despite its size, it has several good restaurants, from home-style fusion cuisine to a Michelin-marked restaurant. From the chateau to any place in the village (shop, restaurants) - 5 minutes maximum by walk, a beautiful picturesque river flows through the entire city. We would love to come here again!

Our family of four, including our two young adventurers aged 4 and 2, had the pleasure of staying at the enchanting Château de Senechaux, hosted by the delightful Kay and David. From the outset, their excellent communication set the tone for our visit. Despite our late arrival in the midst of the French rain, Kay was there, waiting with a smile and ready to help us transfer our belongings from the train to her car—a true testament to her hospitality!

The château itself was breathtaking, with stunning accommodations that exceeded all our expectations. The location was equally impressive, offering the perfect blend of tranquility and access to local attractions. Despite our late arrival, Kay worked her magic and arranged for us to enjoy dinner at a local restaurant after closing hours. She even chauffeured us to and from the wedding venue, making our stay even more special and stress-free.

David, equally charming, ensured our departure was smooth, providing excellent conversation as he dropped us off at the train station. Though our stay was brief—only two nights—we left with a longing to return and further explore the local area, and, of course, to once again bask in the warmth and hospitality of Château de Senechaux. We can't recommend it highly enough and can't wait for our next visit!

Acabamos de regresar del Chateau de Senechaux y estamos deseando volver.|El lugar es sencillamente impresionante. Nos alojamos en el Pavillion junto al río con nuestra perrita Nona. La habitación es espaciosa y no le falta detalle. Decorada con gusto y con un equipamiento de primera. Incluso una botella de buen vino nos esperaba en la nevera. Damos mucha importancia a la cama y la verdad es que era muy cómoda. El jardín anexo de uso exclusivo junto al río es espectacular y muy grande. Incluso tiene un mirador excavado en la roca hacia el río. Tuvimos unos días al principio lluviosos, lo que hizo que el río fuera todo un espectáculo.|Los desayunos fueron copiosos y adaptados a nuestras necesidades, lo que fue muy de agradecer ya que una persona es intolerante a la lactosa.|Y por encima de todo la atención de Kay y su familia está muy por encima de lo habitual. Simplemente perfecta. Siempre atenta a cualquier necesidad, indicándonos con acierto lugares para visitar o restaurantes para comer,... en todo acertó plenamente. Nos hizo sentir verdaderamente unos privilegiados, en un Chateau restaurado por ellos mismos, que pudimos visitar y conocer su historia. Quedamos impresionados por el trabajo realizado por ellos mismos y el resultado obtenido. Es simplemente se película.|Kay, te agradecemos de corazón tus palabras en la nota que nos entregaste el último día, en perfecto español.|Estamos seguros que volveremos, hemos dejado cosas por visitar y restaurantes por probar de los que nos aconsejaste,... y por supuesto poder volver a veros a vosotros y disfrutar de vuestra compañía. Nous avons passé deux merveilleuses nuits dans ce lieu magnifique chargé d’histoire. Le château a été restauré de façon admirable et avec beaucoup de goûts.
Kay et David sont des hôtes souriants et soucieux de votre bien-être, aux petits soins pour vous.
Un grand merci pour cette parenthèse ressourçante et apaisante.

My stay at Chateau Des Sénéchaux was divine. An exercise in time travel and happily all modern luxuries came along for the ride. The place is seeped in history, and is truly the epicenter, along with the fortress it abuts, of Bourdeilles, a small charming town on the banks of the Dronne river. It was fascinating hearing from Kay, the owner and delightful hostess, about her experience of living in and caring for this magnificent place. She couldn’t have been more helpful, going out of her way in many ways. She offered excellent tips regarding the surrounding area (go to the underground church in Aubeterre!! ) and even procured magazines for me geared to my own house hunting adventure in France. Her bedrooms are comfy with real down pillows, and the breakfasts are scrumptious. If you have any dietary restrictions, Kay is very attentive to that. And the kitchen was well stocked with all you need to cook up a feast, plus condiments and basics, like eggs and oatmeal, that Kay supplies herself. All in all, I wouldn’t hesitate to pack your bags toute suite and make your way to Sénéchaux. A grand adventure awaits!!

In a region of medieval towns and restored chateaux, choosing a spot to stay and explore can be difficult. Let me make it easier for you. Go to the Chateau Des Senechaux. It will be the highlight of your trip to the region and possibly to all of France. It was for me and my sister. It is as beautiful and comfortable and dreamlike as it looks. What the pictures don't convey is the warmth and generosity of the hosts. They treat travelers like friends. The small town is lovely and the region easy to explore. Kay, the host, goes far beyond that of concierge and kitchen staff - breakfasts are beautifully made and you might catch an impromptu dinner party with some lively ex-pats who live in the area. Kay's father engages in fascinating conversation with interested travelers, such as me. The owners are unique, international people who have chosen to share their stunning chateau with those lucky enough to find their way there. It all makes for a memorable travel experience not to be missed.

Avons eu le plaisir de résider quelques jours chez Kay et David au printemps et avons littéralement voyagé dans le temps. Le château est magnifique, les "appartements" spacieux et décorés avec goût et fonctionnalité et Kay est une hôte d'une extrême gentilesse. Nous sommes venus pour fêter un évènement amoureux et on nous a vraiment fait vivre une expérience de prince et princesse ???? Merci Kay et David et à très vite!

Nous avons passé 2 merveilleuses nuits en famille dans la superbe Maison du Sénéchal, une demeure historique quasiment accolée au château de Bourdeilles. Tout le confort moderne dans un bâtiment d'exception chargé d'Histoire !
Beauté du lieu (chargé de détails, extrêmement bien rénové), calme, qualité du petit-déjeuner, convivialité : tout était parfait. Merci à Kay pour son accueil et sa gentillesse.
Le village de Bourdeilles est en plus très agréable, avec son église et son château (ou plutôt ses châteaux), à deux pas de l'incontournable Brantôme.
Un gros coup de cœur pour nous, probablement le plus beau séjour que nous ayons fait dans un Périgord que nous connaissons pourtant bien !

Une petite parenthèse magique dans ce lieu magnifique, lieu magique avec des hôtes au combien généreux et sympathiques. A faire absolument. If you're looking for a perfect vacation spot that combines the charm of the old world with modern facilities and excellent hospitality, then Château des Sénéchaux is the place to go. From the moment you step through the gates, you'll be transported back in time with its stunning architectural details and rich history.

Kay, the host at Château des Sénéchaux, is incredibly welcoming and attentive, somehow being there just when you need her, making sure that every guest feels right at home. She is knowledgeable about the local area and the history of their wondeful restored home. Kay will be happy to share tips on where to go and what to see, the local restraunts and bars are worth a visit.

One of the best things about the Château is that it has been beautifully restored by Kay and David while retaining all of the charm and character of it's past life. The rooms are really spacious and comfortable, with everything you need to relax and unwind.

Even the modern facilities at Château des Sénéchaux have been thoughtfully added to enhance your experience, without detracting from the character. If you get a chance to look around the main building grab it, the place is incredible.

Overall, I can't recommend a stay at Château des Sénéchaux enough. It truly is a wonderful blend of old-world charm and modern comfort, and Kay's hospitality truly makes it a special place to visit. Don't hesitate to book your stay here – you won't regret it!

What a fantastic place! We had a truly outstanding stay at the Chateau in April 2023. It is a simply stunning spot in a very charming village. Our accommodation was both beautiful and comfortable, with incredible attention to detail. The owners were very responsive and helpful, and gave us excellent advice regarding sightseeing and restaurants. A real gem - we will definitely be back!

Nous avons passé cet été 2 nuits en famille dans le premier appartement de l'aile gauche du Château, la maison du Sénéchal
Une vraie magie ! Tout était somptueux. Nous avions l'impression de vivre comme des châtelains avec tout le confort d'aujourd'hui ! Rien ne manque. Toute la décoration et l'accueil sont au top.
Et Kay est une hôte hors pair, prévenante et intéressante.
Comble du séjour. Kay nous a prêté sa barque. Nous avons pu flâner sur la Dronne, seuls au monde.
Un vrai bijou.
Je recommande maintenant à tous mes amis de faire un détour par cette étape.

Un séjour au Logis des Sénéchaux est incontournable pour toute personne souhaitant arrêter le temps, renouer avec le rythme de la nature et reprendre en énergie. La beauté du site et du logis ne se décrit pas : elle mérite d’être découverte.

Dans le joli village de Bourdeilles, nous avons passé un séjour de rêve au Château des Sénéchaux.
Entre le château de Bourdeilles et l’église du village, le château des Sénéchaux profite d’une vue imprenable sur la campagne vallonnée. La rivière à ses pieds, il est magnifique.
Mais la beauté du lieu ne serait rien sans l’incroyable convivialité de Kay.
Merci Kay de nous avoir reçu·es avec tant de gentillesse et de sympathie. Tout en étant très professionnelle vous êtes parvenue à nous faire sentir « comme à la maison ».
Au vu de la propreté des lieux que vous louez, du soin que vous portez à la décoration et aux équipements (rien ne manque dans les salles de bains, chambres et cuisine), et à tous les cadeaux pour les hôtes (vin, gâteaux, fruits, jus de fruit, lait, œufs, etc) il est évident pour nous que David et vous êtes des personnes très attentionnées.
