Heaven on earth...

Zuerst muss ich sagen, dass ich dieses Hotel nicht selbst, sondern in einem Paket von einem Reisebüro inkl. Safari etc. gebucht habe. Ich hätte es selbst nicht gebucht und würde es auch nicht mehr buchen.

Fangen wir mit den positiven Eindrücken an: Das Konzept der Anlage ist sehr nett. Einzelne Hütten mit Privatstrand mit Blick aufs Meer. Der eigentliche Strand ist unterhalb, dort kommt man von der Hütte nicht hin, was gut ist, denn die Hütten sind meist unversperrt bzw. man muss aufgrund der Hitze mit offenen Terassentüren schlafen. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Auch der Manager Chris kümmert sich toll um die Gäste! Man kann auch Ausflüge über die Rezeption buchen. Das Essen ist ausgezeichnet. Frühstück ist ok aber unser Highlight waren die Speisen, die über den Tag und am Abend bestellt werden konnten. Wirklich super gut! Der Kaffee ist leider nur Löskaffee. Die Bar ist ok, Preise sind moderat.

Nun zu den negativen Punkten: Die ganze Anlage wirkt auf den ersten Blick schön, auf den zweiten aber sehr renovierungsbedürftig. Es wird auch hier und da gearbeitet aber das ist zu wenig. Wo man hinblickt ist etwas kaputt, irgendwo stehen Nägel heraus, die Farbe blättert ab, die Armaturen spritzen in alle Richtungen, die Moskitonetze haben Löcher etc. Am schlimmsten war leider unser Bett: Die Bettwäsche war derart fleckig und alt und die Matratze war einfach nicht mehr schön (graubraun, durchgelegen, fleckig etc.). Auch die Handtücher müssten erneuert werden. Ich musste das komplett ausblenden, sonst hätte ich dort nicht mehr schlafen können. Die Wasserpunpe ist derart laut, dass man in der Nacht ungern das WC benutzt. WIFI funktioniert in der Pool/Restaurant Area im Zimmer leider nicht sehr gut. Im Zimmer ist es unglaublich heiß, es gibt einen Ventilator. Klimaanlage ist nicht vorhanden. Es wird immer mal wieder etwas vergessen (WC Papier nachfüllen, ein frisches Handtuch etc.). Es gibt ständig Stromausfälle, einen eigenen Generator hat das Hotel nicht. Es riecht sehr oft verbrannt, da die Leute im Dorf und rundherum alles mögliche verbrennnen. Das Pool ist ein kleines Becken, das Meer kann man nur bei Flut nutzen, der Strand ist ok, wird aber nicht gepflegt (Seegras etc.). Die Anlage hat Potential und man könnte sie schon wieder auf Vordermann bringen aber im aktuellen Zustand ist es nicht ganz top.

Pongwe an sich ist ein mini Dorf, außerhalb der Anlage kann man als Tourist nichts machen. Man braucht immer ein Taxi, um herum zu kommen.

Trotz den Verbesserungsvorschlägen sagen wir danke an das Team für den trotzdem sehr schönen Aufenthalt! Alles Gute an alle!

Nostre vacanze … I nostri amici non capiscono perché scegliamo sempre quella destinazione e sempre quell’hotel (season lodge) . Quest’anno al nostro arrivo la frase di benvenuto è stata welcome home … ci sentiamo veramente a casa al season lodge ! Il personale è fantastico gentili e sempre pronti ad accontentarti (chef incluso) Criss il manager è fantastico sempre presente e gentile, gestisce tutto in pochi minuti . Le camere sono meravigliose con vista mare ( quest’anno con la piscina in camera ????) il cibo fantastico e buono. Perfetto per coppie e famiglie. Grazie ancora a tutto lo staff del season lodge

El hotel está en una zona increíble con playa privada. Es muy pequeño y todas las cabañas dan al mar. Las vistas son de ensueño y duermes literalmente con el sonido del mar. Nos sorprendimos cuando llegamos a nuestra habitación y nos dimos cuenta de que teníamos piscina privada, porque esa información no constaba en la reserva. Creo que las han construido recientemente. En general el hotel necesitaba algunas mejoras. Especialmente las sábanas y las toallas que tenían manchas. Por el precio que cobran por noche, esto no debería ocurrir. El restaurante del hotel tiene buenos platos, aunque cuando estuvimos allí el menú del almuerzo era el mismo que el de la cena. Para nosotros no fue un problema ya que solo estuvimos una noche. Entrantes a 5$ platos a 15$ a excepción del plato de pasta que son 12$. El desayuno también mejorable, poca variedad.

Heavenly, exquisite place. Refreshingly peaceful. Glorious, unique setting. Stunning views. Luxurious private seafront cottages. Incredible food. After 3 years in Zanzibar, I can not recommend Seasons Lodge highly enough.

I stayed at Seasons Lodge last week and had a wonderful time. This place is paradise for people love nature, quietness and privacy. Each bungalow has its own property around. Staff was very friendly and caring. I also loved the dogs there although they don't really interfere with you unless you do. So they also don't disturb anyone who's not keen on dogs.

We had an excellent stay in a picturesque oceanfront cottage. I think they have just nine of these private and spacious bungalows that open directly onto the ocean. No TV or AC, just the sound of the waves to lull you to sleep. Absolutely idyllic. We had one problem that management quickly resolved. All the staff were super helpful and friendly. Breakfast was fine as is dinner although with limited offerings. There are a very small number of restaurants within walking distance with greater selection. The tide at this beach is just amazing to watch how the vast amounts of water move hundreds of meters. Wild! This is an uncrowded area with all the exotic remote tropical vibes you're looking for!

We loved our stay at Seasons. If you are looking for an authentic, peaceful and real Zanzibar experience - Seasons lodge is it! The rooms are amazing - we slept with doors open with a sea breeze and the sound of the ocean. I don't think you could get any closer to the beach. Rooms are spacious, light, airy and comfortable. We upgraded to a room with a private pool - the best decision! Food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Staff were extremely helpful. Can thoroughly recommend.

Staying in your cottage was like a dream. The view from the room to the sea was heavenly, the staff generous and polite, they did everything to make us feel good. I would love to come back, and if you want a totally exotic and dreamlike experience, choose this location, you will not regret

Abbiamo passato due settimane in questo splendide lodge, in cottage con piccolo spiaggia privata con vista mare. Lo staff sempre cordiale e sempre attenti alle esigenze del cliente. Le camera sempre pulite, il menu dello chef cambiava ogni giorno, i piatti deliziosi e saporiti, abbiamo richiesto anche il cibo tradizionale swahili. Per andare a fare le escursioni oppure visitare il centro si chieda alla reception, i tragitti sono di massimo 1h, gli autista sono sempre gentili , parlano inglese, italiano e francese, si può anche richiedere un interprete per alcune escursioni.

Raccomando al 100% questo hotel, Il Manage Chris, john, muini e lo staff sono stati fantastici.

Beautiful gem of a hotel tucked away in a quiet beach in Pongwe. The perfect romantic getaway to round off a 3 week honeymoon in Tanzania. The hotel has a very laid back, relaxed, shabby chic eco-hippie vibe which oozes cool. No frills - no pretentiousness. The staff are absolutely top notch - super friendly, attentive, and more than happy to have a laugh (and a drink) with you at happy hour. They are always joking around with each other, which is always a great sign!

We found the food to be varied and delicious every day - no need to venture elsewhere. The chefs are super smiley and more than happy to whip you up some eggs for breakfast. Can also recommend the seafood platter for 2 one evening!

Another highlight is definitely the three house dogs, who try to escape the sweltering sun during the day under your sun lounger, but love to play on the beach with you in the tidepools at sunset. We already miss Disco, Taxi, and Cookie ❤

All in all, if you are looking for a laid back, secluded, romantic setting where you can connect with nature and truly switch off, Seasons is the place. Thank you Chris and team!
