Avis GRAND MERCURE PETRA Wadi Musa

Petra est l'endroit rêvé à visiter. Il existe de très bonnes options d'hébergement à Pétra, juste à l'extérieur du site archéologique. Le Movenpick Nabatean Castle ou le Grand Mercure Plaze se trouve à environ 10 minutes de route, mais il est perché au sommet d'une colline et offre d'excellentes vues sur les environs. L'hôtel est de premier ordre, très luxueux. Le hall d'entrée est magnifique et la décoration de l'hôtel est tout à fait étonnante. Le restaurant est extrêmement bon, avec des tonnes d'options à manger dans le buffet. Vous aurez certainement tout ce que vous souhaitez au petit déjeuner et au dîner. Nous avions deux chambres communicantes, ce qui était très pratique pour nous. Le personnel est formidable. Cet hôtel resplendissant a grandement amélioré les merveilleux souvenirs de notre voyage à Petra

L'hôtel est toujours fermé. Il a l'air charmant mais nous avons été refoulés à l'entrée et renvoyés à Wadi Musa où notre réservation avait été transférée au Movenpick en face du centre d'accueil des visiteurs de Petra. C'était génial, mais j'avais envoyé un e-mail il y a quelques mois pour vérifier et confirmer ma réservation suite à des commentaires sur Tripadvisor, et on m'a dit que ma réservation était confirmée.

Lorsque nous sommes arrivés, l'agent de sécurité nous a dit que le Grand Mercure était FERMÉ pour cause de rénovation majeure. Nous avons été un peu déçus car nous avions choisi cet hôtel pour la vue, mais le Movenpick l'a largement compensé. Le personnel et la nourriture étaient merveilleux. Nous avons été surclassés et la chambre était merveilleuse.|Nous avons été surclassés et la chambre était merveilleuse... Il s'agit d'une critique du Grand Mercure, mais le Movenpick était fantastique... Mon conseil est d'avoir des LETTRES IMPRIMÉES que le gardien peut vous remettre, pour vous dire quoi faire et aussi envoyer un e-mail expliquant la situation... Nous avons fini par faire une bonne affaire, mais c'était un peu déroutant.

Upon arrival in Petra, my excitement turned to dismay as I realized that the hotel I had booked, Grand Mercure Petra, was closed without any prior notice. Instead, I was redirected to Movenpick Petra, an unwelcome surprise that tainted my entire stay.

First and foremost, the lack of communication from Grand Mercure Petra about their closure and the subsequent relocation to Movenpick Petra was utterly unacceptable. This disregard for informing guests of such a significant change caused unnecessary inconvenience and financial strain, as I had to pay an additional 50 JOD to the driver for the extra trip.

Upon reaching Movenpick Petra, any remaining hope for a pleasant stay quickly dissipated. The food served was nothing short of atrocious. I ordered a sandwich, only to be met with a stale, inedible mess. The chicken within was so tough it might as well have been a rock. Despite providing feedback to the server about the appalling quality of the meal, I was still expected to pay the full amount, compounding the insult to injury.

Furthermore, the attitude of the staff at Movenpick Petra left much to be desired. Their demeanor was consistently rude, and their treatment of guests, particularly those of Indian descent like myself, was disturbingly tinged with racism. Such discriminatory behavior is utterly unacceptable and tarnishes the reputation of the establishment.

The only redeeming quality of Movenpick Petra is its proximity to the Petra archaeological site. However, this single positive aspect does little to outweigh the multitude of negatives that marred my experience.

In conclusion, my stay at Movenpick Petra was an unmitigated disaster. From the lack of communication regarding the closure of Grand Mercure Petra to the appalling food quality, rude staff, and evident racism, it was a series of disappointments and frustrations. I strongly advise future travelers to steer clear of this establishment and seek accommodation elsewhere to avoid similar misfortunes.

Nous avons passé une nuit dans cet hôtel plein de charme avec une vue époustouflante sur le site archéologique de Petra
L’accueil d’Ahmed le réceptionniste était très chaleureux, nous avons été reçus avec un jus d’hibiscus excellent et Ahmed nous a surclassé !
La chambre était spacieuse et très propre avec des fruits dans la chambre et une vue imprenable sur Petra
Si nous revenons en Jordanie nous reviendrons certainement !

We had a great stay. Belal checked us in and was amazing throughout our stay checking up on us and making sure we were looked after. Laith at the bar was fantastic along with Murad and Ibrahim and their front staff team for meals who were phenomenal. Muhammad and the rest of the chef staff were fantastic and the food was amazing.
We arrived as guests, stayed as friends and this was super memorable.

2-day stay in November 2023. Very few guests due to geopolitical situation in the region (unfortunately). The service was great from reception to restaurant, the staff very kind (Bilal, Murad, etc.). We got a room upgrade as there was a possibility, thank you! The food is good (breakfast and dinner). The wifi works great. Good luck and hopefully the tourists come back again quickly!!

Had a lovely stay at the hotel. Rooms were large. Breakfast buffet was very good. Delicious mixed grill dinner, too.

Man on reception (Bilal, I think) and his assistant were highly professional. If I would get a hotel, I would definitely hire them:) they made my stay joyful

The hospitality of all of the staff at Movenpick Nabatean is outstanding. The food is wonderful, the Bedouin Tent dining is exceptional. Its location is spectacular. The is literally nothing out of place or unsatisfactory. Highly recommended. The sundowner fireplace and mint tea is outstanding.
