Some of best food I’ve ever had, everything is great. Rooms are cozy, all the staff are so nice. Couldn’t recommend it more.

The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean, but the suite we had with three bedrooms smelled intensely of wood smoke. The wood fireplace was delightful but it smoked unless we left the outside door open, and the wood they provided had an acrid smell that burned the eyes. The place was dated, but cozy and good value. The restaurant was divine! We had the meat platter for two with fresh corn tortillas, pico de gallo, guacamole, and recorded beans and the flavour and tenderness of all the meats were incredible. The gallo pinto breakfast was the best we have had.

Cuando tomas el desayuno puedes ver las montañas hacia afuera y te da la impresión de estar en otro lugar (que no es Costa Rica).

15 mins from Poas. The rooms were very cozy. It got a bit chilly in the night. Central and close to several restaurants. Beautiful views from the room

這裡是一間牛排餐館，樓上就是住宿房間。工作人員非常的友好，而且英文流利。幫我們訂了Poás Volcano的門票。
臥室整潔乾淨，還有暖爐，浴室的水很熱而且水很大。提供Britt的咖啡包，非常享受咖啡。
如果要去Poás Volcano，這裡是很好的住宿場所，而且樓下就可以用餐，非常方便。
牛排很嫩，好吃。

Great location, the staff was really friendly and helpful. Room #3 was clean and nice, with very soft sheets. The only issue was the walls were very thin, and because that room is right next to the restaurant you can hear the music they play and the kitchen noises very loudly. Definitely get earplugs or request another room

Las cabañas son muy bonitas y a un muy bien precio, tienen descuento con pago en efectivo, el desayuno es delicioso, además hay opción de gallo pinto o tipo americano (pedí americano porque estaba cansado de comer frijol), me gustó mucho. Las chicas de la recepción fueron super amables, nos ayudaron a programar la visita al volcan. El precio me pareció muy bueno, estuve mirando hoteles de la zona y algunos valían hasta el doble.

Wirklich ein tolles Hotel. Das Essen schmeckt, von der Lage her ist es auch toll, da man schnell zum Vulkan, aber auch zum La Paz Waterfall Garden kommt. Die Zimmer sind top, sogar mit kleinem Ofen. Und das Personal ist super freundlich, spricht Englisch und hilft einem immer weiter, wenn man eine Transportmöglichkeit braucht, da das hier etwas rar ist. Wir wurden sogar vom Chef höchstpersönlich und kostenlos zu den Wasserfällen gefahren. Einfach nur weiterzuempfehlen!!

Es un hotel que queda de paso al volcán Poás. La habitación era muy bonita, tipo cabaña por dentro. Tenían calefacción que en realidad no usamos. La comida muy rica, cenamos y desayunamos. Todo el personal muy amable desde inicio a final.

Quizás sólo mencionaría que las toallas ya están un poco viejas, pues tenían hilos colgando en todos lados. La cama también un poco dura.

We decided to stay an extra night (for a total of 3) at El Churrasco even before arriving and we are glad we did.

The location at nearly 2000m ASL is unique in its own right, especially for CR as the air is cooler and more refreshing. Poás Volcano is only a 15 minute drive from the hotel and even downtown SJO is less than a 1.5 hour drive as well. There are some great views from the hotel and area in general.

The restaurant is delicious and serves up great included breakfasts for guests each morning (2 options - typical or continental/western). We had dinner twice in their restaurant as well and as it’s a steakhouse, we had steak both times. It was delicious, even compared to Canadian steak. The staff were very friendly and we were lucky to be dining during the low season so the restaurant was never full.

The hotel itself is amazing - cozy, comfortable and homey. The walls and ceilings are all wood-paneled so it feels like a chalet. Our tv was the best we’ve had in CR as there were multiple English-only channels with great quality video. The shower was always hot when needed, which is a necessity as the nights did get cool.

A very pleasant surprise was that we asked if the hotel did laundry and they do, however we were never charged for it (bless them). They’re truly very nice and generous people!

Do yourself a favor and stay here when in the Central Valley, you won’t regret it!
