When looking for a restaurant with a view overlooking Newport Bay, Newport Landing is the place. While it's primarily a seafood restaurant, it offers pasta dishes, burgers and salads.

The appetizer offerings are a plenty and delicious. When wanting a "healthier" choice, the cauliflower wings are seasoned well and not over cooked. The trouffle-parmesan and garlic onions are on point, just the right amount of garlic. Another must appetizer is the cheeae nachos as they offer the perfect mix when guacamole and sour cream are added (extra cost but worth it).

Wonderful location. Easy parking, you can walk the boardwalk after dinner. Great friendly staff. Yummy soup and salads.

I had the mahi tacos which costed about $24 for two tacos with rice pilaf and black beans. I also had a well tossed but weird Caesar salad. The tacos were just ok. The mahi wasn't very flavorful and the slaw was just shredded cabbage - not a slaw. The rice was pretty weird but the beans were good. The restaurant has a view of the ocean between the peninsula and the mainland. Our server Ali was very nice and did a good job.

I absolutely love this place! It has one of the best sunset views in Newport Beach! Top 3 in fact. As the sunsets over the bay, the whole place lights up with Beauty.

I come here for the happy hour usually and I’m satisfied with great drinks and great service. I don’t necessarily come here for the food come here for the vibe and the drinks and the food is just OK. I feel like it’s a really great value and sol happy hour in Newport Beach.

Nice casual restaurant with lovely views. I had the Salmon marinated in Marmalade with the coconut panko crust and lemon cream sauce. It was excellent!! I don't care for coconut but you don't notice it as it blends well with the other flavors. The vegetables along with my husband's steak were perfectly prepared. Service was also excellent. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. Overall, a great night!

I visited Balboa Island to see the holiday lights and visited this restaurant without a reservation. We got seated in the patio seating upstairs very quickly. The location is perfect and offers a good water view. The food was not impressive though. I think the price was reasonable considering the main ingredients were seafood, but the taste could be better.

Always an excellent place to go. A variety of choices and ambience is lovely.
Our server was fantastic.
Food was really Salty this time but it's likely the choices we made. (Snapper & Cajun swordfish).
All the appetizers are really good. Bread is delicious.

UPDATE: W returned. The chowder don’t disappoint. Yummy! We ate upstairs in the oyster bar with a view of the water. We ordered several items off the bar menu. They were all good. The chowder was excellent. Service was good.

The atmosphere and the view are why you come here! Service is ok, not bad, a little slow and if you get the happy hour food it’s fine. I used to love the ceviche but last I had it, it was a tiny serving for $12, not worth it any more.

Our group of 7 had reservations at Newport Landing at 12 noon on a Wednesday. These reservations were made directly with a person who claimed to be the manager. We discussed that our table was to be in front of a window with a view. These Plans were made approximately 4 weeks prior to our date.

The first to arrive at 11:30am reported back to the rest of the party that there was no record of our reservation. ????
The alternate space offered was upstairs in a dark, chilly room. This was not appropriate for us so we rejected this solution and quickly made another call to an alternative who welcomed us without hesitation.
Newport Landing will never see us again!

Wow! We drove up to Newport for a day trip from San Diego for some whale watching and hopefully some really good seafood. This place did not disappoint! We would drive an hour and a half just to eat here again. Everything was just so fresh. The service was great and the location can't be beat. So happy we found this place. Definitely going back soon.
