Went here for a birthday and had the worst experience. Edna, the front desk, was unprofessional and was accused of harassing guests by multiple people. It is sad because we had been to this location many times and although the hotel is old and the rooms can be musty, the staff made up for it. We won't be returning. Multiple guests called Jose, the manager, to discuss their experience and he was most concerned with "viewing the cameras" rather than offering an apology for how we all felt. It's disappointing. I also received extra room charges after the fact that I am certain were directly related to the immature and very young acting front desk girl who was on quite the tirade that weekend. We had multiple rooms blocked off and have sent a letter to the owner. Normally, I don't like to complain at all but this truly was over the top mistreatment.

Stayed the weekend for a wedding in Palm Springs.

Pros:
- great location
- hotel staff is very nice and accommodating
- Tiki bar is really cool and the food is good!
- pool area is really pretty

Cons: THE WEBSITE PHOTOS ARE VERY DECEIVING!!!!

- rooms are dated and kind of dirty. Had an "old" smell and very dark. Uncomfortable beds and everything really needs an upgrade. Very cheap motel feel. Expected a little more, especially for the price of the room!

- BELIEVE THE REVIEWS ABOUT THE WATER TEMPERATURE CONSTANTLY CHANGING FROM HOT TO COLD CONSTANTLY! Very annoying and uncomfortable.

Will not stay here again ????

Cute, cozy, romantic, relaxing, and affordable! Caliente Tropics is not the Four Seasons, nor does it claim to be. But for what it is, I could ask for almost nothing more. The bedding was so plush and comfortable. I slept like a baby each night. The rooms were very clean and serviced regularly- including fresh towels and new coffee for the in-room coffee maker each day. The pool is incredibly clean and beautiful. You can order drinks from the Reef and sip pool-side while listening to Frank Sinatra and The Beach Boys. The music they play in the pool area is just *chef’s kiss.* Every employee I interacted with from the front office to the bar was incredibly friendly and attentive. I cant tell if the resort really stresses customer service in training, or if they are just selective in hiring the kindest and most hospitable people. I think it’s the latter. :)

My only small complaint would be that the shower temperature was somewhat inconsistent and prone to change at random times, but I guess that’s just part of the charm of an old building.

I would stay here again, no doubt.

The restaurant, pool, hot tub, view, the room itself… I usually don’t have loyalties to hotels, but when I go to Palm Springs this is the only place I’d stay. It’s just magical.

I haven't stayed yet.... But DUSTIN & JOSÉ were Changers, for an issue I had w my reservation.
Ill be staying around NYE.
They were very nice and sympathetic to certain unforseen issues.
Makes me want to stay their even longer now, if my timing allows. Especially, when customer service SHINES ????
I love the vintage Tiki, Polynesian style and the huge pool and hot tub!!

This post is updated after my stay..... I loved it there!!!! The setting was ideal. The bar was definitely Tiki, service was good. The pool area open til midnight was a huge plus!!!

We picked this hotel because of the retro tiki vibe and because it came up on the list of family friendly hotels in the area. We were pretty excited at check in, the lobby and pool area are pretty awesome. Then we got to our room. Seriously disappointed. I guess it was clean but they are seriously out dated and not very nice. One of the outlets worked a quarter of the time we were there, they don’t have outlets by the beds like typical hotels. No dressers. The beds were ok but the pillows were terrible.
I don’t know if it was the time we went but we were the only people with a child and we were getting a lot of dirty looks at the pool and other areas.

This is an absolute gem from another time. If you’re expecting the Four Seasons, this definitely isn’t it, however the rooms are clean, staff is excellent and the grounds / hot tub / pool / The Reef bar are fantastic for any tikiphile. It’s got an incredible retro vibe, and is very well maintained for the age of the hotel.

Came by to visit the tiki bar! Amazing selection of tiki inspired cocktails. We didn't stay overnight but looks like a fun cute kitchy hotel with nice pool and hottub!

Nice accommodations for the price!! Conveniently located, but if you want to just hang by the pool, it has all the amenities. Good food at the restaurant, full bar, perfectly heated pool and spa, and a nice little greenbelt area to play outdoor games or relax in a cabana, plus decent music selection for ambiance. Good place for family fun!

Mon conjoint et moi-même avons séjourner dans cet hôtel lors de notre étape à palm Springs. C'est un très bon hôtel, rapport qualité prix. Chambre et locaux très propres.
Il est bien situé par rapport à l'artère principale de la ville, et non loin de l'incontournable statue Maryline Monroe !
Je le recommande à tout voyageurs parti en roadtrip !
