Stilted tents on the banks of the River Kwando. Very rustic and very hot. Could do with a fan in the tent. Did cool down slightly overnight.... Nice bar, thatched lounge and dining area.

Die ruhige Lage direkt am Fluß, das freundliche Personal und Gastgeberin, die liebe zum Detail ob am gedeckten Tisch oder im Lodgebereich und das gute Abendessen in gemütlicher Atmosphäre....perfekt. Weiter so...vielen Dank für die Gastfreundschaft.

Gorgeous eco-friendly place right on the river Kwando. The chalets are nicely appointed including a veranda where one can watch the river life go by. The food is fantastic. Don't miss a sunset river cruise; ours was unforgettable. The game drive is well worth it too. Every single person working there, from the owner to the guys watering the grounds, is super kind and attentive.

Keep in mind some of the accommodations have fans, others don't, but apparently all will starting next year. Mine didn't have a fan but the nights cooled down very nicely.

Nous avons passé une nuit dans ce lodge et avons beaucoup apprécié le cadre au bord de la rivière qui est très agréable. De plus, les chambres sont propres et très jolies. Le service est attentionné. Nous avons dîné le soir au lodge et nous avons bien fait, le repas était délicieux.

Wir verbrachten zwei Nächte in Camp Kwando. Von unserem Zelt aus konnten wir Elefanten auf der gegenüberliegenden Uferseite beobachten, was eine wirklich beeindruckende Erfahrung war. Die Besitzerin ist äußerst freundlich und bereitete köstliche Mahlzeiten zu. Das Personal zeigte sich professionell und herzlich. Ein besonderer Dank geht an Dickie, Alfred und Donald. Die Safari und die Bootsfahrt waren herausragend und werden uns immer in Erinnerung bleiben. Liebe Grüsse aus der CH

Abbiamo soggiornato una notte durante il viaggio in Namibia ad agosto 2023.
La struttura si trova proprio sul fiume Kwando, in posizione isolata e tranquilla, raggiungibile in auto su strada sterrata. Esternamente appare molto curata, con un bel giardino molto grande, una grande hall con affaccio sul fiume e varie casette in legno tipo palafitte. Le stanze si trovano sparse in varie posizioni, ma sono tutte con ingresso indipendente e la nostra era molto ampia e si affacciava in prima linea sul fiume. Molto bello il patio esterno privato. Colazione e cena disponibili nel ristorante interno. Qualità buona del cibo con presentazione dello staff e dei piatti. Da non perdere la crociera sul fiume Kwando tra Namibia e botswana.

Eine traumhafte Unterkunft am Kwando mit schönen Zelten direkt am Wasser mit toller Aussicht. Nettes Personal und eine sympathische Besitzerin, die im Einklang mit der Natur lebt. Das Essen war ebenfalls hervorragend. Hier kann man sich rundum wohl fühlen

One of the best and most amazing lodges we got to stay in during our trip through Namibia. The place itself is lovely with a wonderful main building, a beautiful scenic park and outdoor area, and perfect accomodation looking out over the Kwando river.

The food is outstanding! Anke, a German that migrated to Namibia a couple of years ago, ist an awesome cook - for anything and everything! She very joyfully offered to make special vegetarian and vegan plates for my friend and I who prefer to not have meat all the time.

They offer boat cruises and other activities. We (4 people) only did the afternoon boat cruise and we can fully reccomend. Our guide, Hidden, explained a lot, showed us how hippos react to certain things and was a jolly fellow to spend time with.

Close to the camp, there is a traditional village that can be visited upon prior notice so people can prepare things and be there to show the pre-colonial style of life. The guide is also happy to give examples of how people live nowadays and what is still being used of the traditional aspects.

Be aware:
There is no wifi available but if you have something urgent you can ask to use the computer at the reception/in the office. Although, I had to work on a research proposal, the lack of wifi didn't bother us. There's enough to do and we didn't come there to stare at our phones.

There is also no air-con and no hair dryers are allowed. The entire lodge is run with solar energy and these devices have too large energy requirements. We found that we didn't even miss the aircon as the tent was airy and comfortable at night with some side windows (they have fly screens). Also didn't miss the hair dryer, with the warm wether there's no need for them anyways.

10/10 can reccomend.

Prachtige omgeving met mooi verblijf. Wij hadden hier ook een boottocht genomen. Dat was heerlijk. Zonsondergang, fijne temperatuur, een schattige jongen uit de omgeving die aan het leren was voor gids naast de officiële gids natuurlijk. En veel vogels en nijlpaarden gezien.
Alles zag er prachtig uit. Zeer de moeite waard om te verblijven.

Didn't stay here this time as they have closed their camping facilities and is sadly no longer open for day visits. Still one of the most scenic spots though.

Estavamos meio perdidos e cansados, arriscando sem reserva alguma uma viagem do Etosha, para Vic Falls, já passava das 23:00hs e desde as 21:30 procuravamos um lugar seguro para passarmos a noite, até que tivemos sinal de internet e apareceu o Camp Kwando, tivemos que fazer um desvio de 30 km, mas ao chegar la grata surpresa, antendidos muito cordialmente e muito bem instalados. Excelente comida e pelo fato de chegarmos na madrugada, ótimos preços.

Camp Kwando überzeugte uns nicht nur von der Herzlichkeit sondern auch von dem Ambiente. Wir verbrachten 3 wundervolle Nächte mit hervorragenden Essen und einer freundlichen Bewirtung. Besonders erwähnen sollte man auch die Bootstouren , welche wir nach unserer ersten Tour mit Alfred am folgenden Tag ein zweites mal mit Hidden unternommen haben. Zusammen mit dem naheliegenden Nationalpark hat man eine ideale Ausgangslage um die beeindruckende Naturwelt des Kwando zu erleben.

Für unsere nächste Reise nach Namibia ist ein Aufenthalt gewiss, und wir freuen uns auf ein Wiedersehen mit der Besitzerin Anke und ihrem Mann.

Sehr schönes Camp mit toller Aussicht von den Zelten aus. Wir saßen gerne auf dem Balkon und beobachteten die Natur und den Fluss. Das Haupthaus ist liebevoll dekoriert, besonders gut hat uns die Feuerstelle gefallen. Das Abendessen war exzellent und das warme Frühstück (Omelette etc.) war auch sehr gut. Das kalte Frühstücksbuffet war nichts besonderes, hier haben z.B. Gurken oder Tomaten und vor allem Trinkwasser gefehlt. Ein Highlight dieser Unterkunft war die Bootstour am Abend! Der Guide hat uns eine tolle Tierwelt am Fluss gezeigt. Zudem wurde uns eine Safari im nahegelegenen Mudumu Nationalpark empfohlen. Dieser hat uns auch gut gefallen.
Allgemein haben an diesem Camp nur wenige Kleinigkeiten gestört. So war z.B. zu wenig Licht im Badezimmer oder der Bootsanleger 2 hat die Sicht vom Balkon gehindert. Der Weg zum Camp ist leider auch etwas zugemüllt. Zudem gab es kein Netz und kein WLAN für die Gäste. Dieses hätten wir zur weiteren Planung unserer Reise gut gebrauchen können.
Trotzdem stimmen einfach die Lage und Atmosphäre in diesem Camp.

Eine Top Adresse, die Baumhäuser sind genial!!!! Und das Essen excellent.

Lieu retiré, chambres correctes mais confort précaire. Peu de puissance électrique (panneaux solaires) eau pas toujours dispo à la douche ni très chaude. Bien sûr pas de wifi. Le personnel est très sympa ou très peu pour certains (es).Bref, il vaut mieux ne pas être exigeant sauf pour les ornithologues qui trouveront leur bonheur.
