Schöne Campsite direkt am Flusslauf, mit Blick auf die Berge je nach dem wo man steht.
Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Trotz das wir außerhalb der Saison da waren, war einiges los. Da die Residents zum Wochenende auch zahlreiche den Campingplatz nutzen.
Die sanitären Anlagen waren ok, hatten aber auch schon bessere Zeit.
Personal war sogar direkt an der Campsite und von 06-22uhr vor Ort.
Wir wurden auch direkt vor den Baboons gewarnt.
Leider half das Nix und einer saß kurz vorm Frühstück unter unserem Auto. Ließ sich auch nicht ohne weiteres vertreiben und stahl uns einen Apfel direkt vom Tisch, während wir am Tisch standen. ???????? naja alles halb so schlimm.
Beim raus fahren aus dem Park gegen 08 Uhr durfte wir dann noch Zebras und Trappen sehen.
Der Park bietet mehrer Wanderweg mit camps zum übernachten, unter anderem ein 8 Tages Tour.

Wonderful Natural pool. Very kind staff & tasty food

We didn’t really enjoyed our stay. We decided to sleep in a chalet instead of the campground because of the heat (over 40 degrees that day). The chalets are all in the sun the whole day, so ours was warm when we entered it and we were surprised to see that there was no A/C neither fan in it. In addition, the windows cannot be left open at night because of the baboons so it felt like being in a sauna with no air the whole night. It would have been cooler at the campsite for sure. The amenities are functional and practical, the chalet is dark inside and made out of concrete so far away from other beautifully made place we have been too. In the evening, we had dinner and the food was good even tough the portions were small for a 3 course menu: one small salad as a starter, one thin piece of lamp, one potato and a bit of veggies as a main and a sponge cake as a dessert. For a place for hikers, having a bit more food even 2-3 more potatoes would have been appreciated. We would have expected more looking at the price at the chalets and the dinner. We would like to say thank you to the staff who was particularly helpful and nice!!

Super Camp, les babouins ne nous ont pas embêtés du séjour. Belle rando autour du camp. Personnel très agréable

This campsite has plenty of trees providing shade. The scenery here is beautiful. Other than that, the facilities are quite basic. The shower was cold when I was there.

Sehr schönes Camp Site, etwas versteckt in den Anfängen des Naukluft Gebirges. Der Service war sehr gut und freundlich, obwohl wir erst sehr spät angekommen sind. Die Sanitären Anlagen sind zwar ein wenig einfach, jedoch für einen Campingplatz vollkommen ausreichend und gut. Die Plätze sind wunderschön, mit eigenen Grillplätzen und Wasserversorgung an jedem Platz.

NWR campsites were a big let down for us during our 7 weeks in Namibia. Whilst the location is absolutely stunning and worth heading to (the natural pools and the olive trekking trail were our highlights), the campsite was quite dilapidated. We were warned about the baboons though luckily didn't come in to contact with any. We had two nights here, both were quite noisy with groups and we were told that once a month they get a huge coachload of French tourists come through - very glad we weren't staying when they were. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the area is a big yes to visiting!!

Very nice place for hikers or people seeking peace and tranquility.

Nature and natural pools amazing, resorts officer friendly and well manered, Conservation officer very unfriendly, the rest NWR - nothing worth reporting!

Good if dilapidated camp site plagued by excessively aggressive Baboons - a large male bit a hole in our tent and ripped it wide open to have a look inside. Everything has to be kept under lock and key and even then they try to get inside. They totally ignore the security guard with foghorn. Thankfully they stay away at night but daytime it feels like some kind of plague. Facilities functional - there’s hot water, a bar and restaurant. A lot of missing light bulbs and general disrepair. Good for one night if you’re hiking in the mountains, not more. Cooking down in the campsite at sunset is an experience!

On ne se sent pas en sécurité sur ce site, à éviter !

C’est un des rares avis négatifs que nous avons publié.

De gros babouins sont très présents, en très grand nombre et n’ont pas peur de l’être humain. Ils viennent jusqu’à forcer la voiture devant nous. Le gardien était très gentil mais impuissant face aux singes.
D’autres animaux inquiétants sont présents(serpents, scorpions..).

En plus de ce gros problème le site n’a pas de grand intérêt, les randonnées sont très difficiles et la chaleur est étouffante, impossibles à faire avec des enfants. Il n’y a ni électricité, ni wifi pour prévenir l’agence qui s’est occupée de nos réservations afin de quitter le site rapidement.

La garde de la réception du parc qui s’occupe de faire payer l’entrée du site (supplément élevé 450$) est très désagréable, sur son téléphone portable à notre arrivée, ne donne aucune explication sur le site et les randonnées, aucun effort.

Le chemin pour rejoindre le site est long et en très mauvais état avec de nombreux cailloux et roches ce qui rend son accès difficile même avec un 4x4.

Nous avons aussi subit les seules personnes présentes sur le campsite, des jeunes qui faisaient une grosse fête et avaient mis la musique à fond et ont crié pendant des heures toute l’après-midi et la nuit, alors que nous sommes dans une réserve protégée pour profiter du calme et de la nature.

Il n’y a aucun endroit plat pour installer nos tentes et tout les campsites sont collés les uns aux autres.

C’est de loin le site que nous avons le moins apprécié durant le mois que nous avons passé en Namibie.

Die Mitarbeiter wirkten sehr genervt von uns, obwohl nichts los war. Die Sanitären Anlagen sehr heruntergekommen.
Wir sahen keine Affen.
Die Preise sind extrem hoch, sowohl für den Eintritt in den Park als auch für den Campingplatz. Für zwei Personen mit Pkw über 50€ umgerechnet pro Nacht.

Am Zeltplatz kein Strom und der Nachbarsplatz ist direkt anbei.

Unter Staatsverwaltung. Man merkt es am Service und Einstellung der Mitarbeiter - abgesehen von einer Mitarbeiterin, die hervorzuheben ist.

Für Wanderer sicherlich gut; für uns nur ein Zwischenaufenthalt.
Es gibt sicherlich schönere.

Accueil qui laisse à désiré notamment par la dame du parc national qui ne faisait aucun effort pour se faire comprendre (c’est la dame du campsite qui reformulait pour qu’on puisse comprendre). Campsite précaire, certes en pleine nature mais sans être particulièrement joli, installations propres. Attention singes pas si friendly que ça, on ne peut pas ouvrir une caisse de nourriture sans qu’ils soient sur nous, nos voisins campeurs se sont fait attaqués au point que nous sommes partis déjeuner ailleurs.
Nous avons fait l’olive trail, joli mais sans plus comparativement aux autres parcs nationaux de Namibie. A refaire on aurait passé la journée et la nuit ailleurs.

Very nice location, chalets are pretty but got quite warm at night and there is no mosquito net on the windows (or AC).

Incredible campsite, beware the baboons!

Die Naukluft Berge laden tatsächlich zum Spazieren ein. Man bewegt sich als rundreisender Tourist ja sonst in Namibia viel zu wenig! Wer die Gelegenheit hat, sollte den Olive Trail gehen, teils etwas abenteuerlich (man hangelt sich ein einer Ketten entlang), aber nicht zu lang und nicht zu schwer. Den Waterkloof Trail sind wir nur ein kurzes Stück gewandert, 17 km finde ich persönlich doch zu lang für einen Spaziergang, insbesondere mit Kindern. Doch bis zu den Wasserpools sind es nur eine halbe Stunde Fußwanderung durch das Tal hinauf. Macht Spaß!
Für eine Nacht in den Naukluft Bergen und als Ausgangspunkt für die Hiking Touren bietet sich die NWR geführte Lodge an. Die Chalets (Bungalows) sind großzügig und sauber, vielleicht etwas kühl eingerichtet. Für das leibliche Wohl steht eine Bar und das Restaurant zur Verfügung, ein paar Minuten Fußweg von den Unterkünften. Es ist nicht übertrieben fein und gemütlich, bietet aber WiFi. Die Lodge und die Parkverwaltung befinden sich im gleichen Haus, alle Gäste, auch Tagesgäste müssen dort die Nationalpark-Gebühren zahlen, können sich aber auch erfrischen lassen. Die Bergzebras haben wir nicht gesehen, und die Paviane waren weit weg, lediglich Perlhühner kreuzten unsere Wege. Kurz: Solider Anlaufpunkt zwischen Windhoek und Sesriem in wirklich schöner Landschaft.

Super, but watch out for baboons!

An sich wäre der Campingplatz toll, da die Landschaft spektakulär schön ist. Auch das Personal ist freundlich. Aber leider sind die sanitären Anlagen ziemlich heruntergekommen (Licht ist sehr duster und fällt zudem aus, das angeblich trinkbare Wasser schäumt gelblich, kein Warmwasser, Toilettenhaus nicht sicher gegen Affen, ...) und die Stellplätze sind sehr klein und nah beieinander. Das größte Problem aber sind die hoch aggressiven Paviane (Baboons), die vom Personal nicht verscheucht werden und mittlerweile sogar in verschlossene Autos einbrechen, um an Essen zu kommen. Die Tiere haben keine Scheu mehr vor Menschen! Höchste Vorsicht geboten! Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt vorzeitig abgebrochen, da die Baboons unsere Heckscheibe beschädigt hatten und wir keine weiteren Schäden am Fahrzeug riskieren wollten.

La zone offre des possibilités de randonnées, de différentes durée, au départ du camping. Nous avons opté pour la plus courte, env 2h, à la recherche de petites piscines naturelles (eau froide!!).
