Le majestueux hôtel Polana, de la chaîne hôtelière de luxe Serena, est l'un des plus beaux de Maputo. Il dispose d'un bar, d'un restaurant, d'un café, d'une piscine hollywoodienne, d'une salle de gym, d'un spa, de courts de tennis… C'est un véritable resort de vacances. Toutes les chambres sont différentes, assez iconoclastes pour un hôtel de standing, avec des têtes de lit portugaises coloniales en bois sculpté pour la plupart. La terrasse du bar avec sa vue sur l’océan et la sublime piscine décorée d'une colonnade blanche est éblouissante.
