Au sein du MuseumsQuartier, un édifice massif tout en basalte anthracite et en architecture moderne abrite le MUMOK et ses captivantes expositions temporaires d’art moderne. Dessiné par les architectes Ortner & Ortner avec un clin d’œil au Guggenheim de New York, le musée est... renversant. Son apparence de bloc hermétique cache un cœur de verre et de lumière, et du dernier étage, vue panoramique sur Vienne. Le Mumok a bénéficié d'une rénovation durant les 5 premiers mois de 2024.
