Their website says "The 78 guest rooms offer views of either the ocean, columnar basalt sea stacks, or the nearby mountains and come with either twin or double beds."

Our ocean view room had a view of buildings and construction. I don't see how any of the rooms in this hotel can see the ocean. Our room itself was fine, albeit a little small even for Iceland. Breakfast buffet wasn't stocked very well and when I asked for coffee (they were out), the response came with some attitude. We stayed in 8 hotels during our trip and this was one of our least favorites.

As a woman and a woman of color my review may serve some well and some not so much. I was born in the United States. I travel frequently and hav the country of Iceland to be enchanting and it continues to draw me back. I travel solo unless I bring my daughters. This hotel has potential but the people that work in it are “entertainers “ if you will. Sadly all women that I encountered. I thought to myself as I met a nice lady at breakfast (from elsewhere) so sad that we as women of all races and ethnicities don’t more widely just respect each other and extend kindness…genuinely…yea I know I’m dreaming…people be genuinely kind and not condescending. Ironically I saw that YOKO ONO is here Monday for an annual peace movement. I work in Diversity Equity and Inclusion in the states and I travel to keep myself balanced and aware. I know God is in Iceland…he’s everywhere. He’s just not in everyone. This hotel is very nice and the girl with the pink hair who checked me in was genuinely nice. Thereafter, intentions and treatment as though I was invisible or delusional ensued. I’ll be back to Vik. Maybe here only because the room was super clean. And now I know what kind of people work here so my expectations will be set accordingly. If you’re not if color traveling alone you may have a completely wonderful experience. If you come and feel the aforementioned energy…it’s confirmation. Thinking to try Hotel Kira next time. I ???? Iceland…I’m just learning what places don’t love or care about all of humanity ☮️

Very nice hotel, restaurant, and rooms. The “ocean view” was a stretch since the hotel is furthest back along the coast and behind other buildings closer to the ocean. The breakfast buffet had more options than some other hotels we stayed at along the east and south coasts. Although you need a dinner reservation, some of the best food and dessert we had in Iceland. Very friendly staff too!

I know pricing is dictated by availability but at $400 this was a very expensive shoebox. The bathroom is beyond tiny, 1 person can barely fit in the shower and another person cannot be in the bathroom at the same time, so it’s very inconvenient. Room itself is tiny with limited place for luggage. Bed is two twins pushed together and not very comfortable. Breakfast was good but not enough to compensate. Would not stay again.

Centrally located in town of Vik, Iceland. Very close to Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach and Dyrhólaey view point. Also close to pizza place and Asian food. Hotel menu didn’t had vegetarian choice so ended up eating at Wok on Vik. Hotel room is nice and spacious. Bathroom clean and have all the necessary amenities. Bar is great and runs happy hours till 6 pm. Breakfast is okay. I would recommend this hotel to anyone passing through Vik. Have one suggestion for hotel management to keep more vegetarian items on the menu for those who are vegetarian.

Amazing location to the beach and town. The on-site bar has multiple options and chairs that look out the floor to ceiling windows. Parking is free and there is plenty. The bathroom was a bit smaller then expected and the shower doors folded in to give you more space.

Staff are very friendly, hotel and rooms are very nice. Had wedding reception at the restaurant and everything was delicious. Our group of 20 was very easily accommodated, and the service was excellent.

We had a very pleasant stay in Vik, the staff is lovely and the restaurant of the hotel is fine cuisine. Highly recommend staying here, or at least dining in. They have big and comfortable appartements for larger groups of people

We spent our first night in Iceland at Hotel Vik. After not sleeping overnight on the plane, this was exactly what we needed - a dark quiet room with a comfy bed. We slept for 12 hours and felt great the next morning. We were too tired to wait for the restaurant to open for dinner so we had a drink at happy hour and some bar snacks which were good. The lamb Bao buns were our favorite. The next morning, the breakfast buffet was outstanding. Large selection, amazing pastries. The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly. We really enjoyed our stay!

Got a room in the old part of the hotel. Rooms were heavily perfumed to cover what we think was a moldy/musty smell. Not worth the price for what was essentially an old stale motel room. Breakfast was solid and location was nice.

Wir sind zum zweiten Mal hier. Diesmal haben wir das Deluxe-Zimmer mit Panoramaaussicht und das ist das Geld definitiv wert. Frühstück ist sehr lecker und das Personal super nett.

decent accommodations, comfortable and functional. a plus for radiant floor heating in the bathroom. short walk to kronas... would come back.
