UPDATE: really sad to be adding an update (2024) and amending my previous 5 starts but unfortunately this place has really gone downhill. They only have a very limited brunch menu till 5pm (!), the food took a really long time to come out (~1h) at which point all food arrived really cold. We saw many other people send their food back too because it was too cold. Shame because the taste is still nice but something is badly managed. When we politely mentioned the waiter kept loudly sighing as he muttered an apology. Upon paying he didn’t know how to operate the card machine (contactless didn’t go through and when I said can you insert the card to which he kept saying it’s not recognising it…. Until I noticed he’s not inserting it chip side. Weird not to know that as a waiter) Such a shame as we used to come here regularly for both the food and atmosphere but probably won’t return now

This place is a big favourite of mine I’ve regularly visited and the food is always delicious- big menu too so safe to take anyone picky. The garden is an added bonus when the weather is nice!

Az ételek nagyjából rendben voltak (a juhtúrós sztrapacskában nem éreztem a juhtúrót, de egyébként finom volt, a burgerhez pedig nagyon kis adag volt a sült krumpli). A kiülős rész nagyon kellemes. A kiszolgálás kedves volt, de sajnos sokat kellett várni.

Beutiful place for dinner and very pleasure staff.

После посещения остались двойственные ощущения. В принципе средняя еда, но обслуживание было супер. Обстановка тоже неплохая. За обед на двоих вышло порядка 8000 форинтов.

Das Butter Chicken sowie das Naan Brot war absolut deliziös! Süsses Restaurant mit sehr freundlichem Personal. Uns hat Nezafat bedient - er war super nett. Zum Desserts gabs noch ein Chocolate Brownie was ebenfalls wunderbar schmeckte! Absolute Weiterempfehlung.

Évek óta visszatérünk, mindig jó a hangulat és finomak az ételek. Ajánlom a padthai-t, az indiai ételeket, de a sztrapacska is kitűnő választás. Érdemes asztalt foglalni!

Great restaurant in the center of Budapest. Generous portions and a wide selection of good cocktails! The prices were fair, this place gives good value for the money.

The Pits: A Culinary Sinkhole in Budapest's Underbelly
One Star (if that's not too generous)
Where do I even begin? This "restaurant," if you can call it that, was an insult to both my taste buds and my dignity. Nestled (or more accurately, festering) in the bowels of Budapest's most tragically neglected district, The Pits promises a "unique dining experience." Let me tell you, unique it certainly was. But unique in the way a moldy cheese or a rabid raccoon encounter is unique – an experience you desperately wish you could scrub from your memory.
From the Frying Pan into the Sewage Dump
The "service" was about as helpful as a chocolate teapot. Our waiter, a fellow who seemed more at home wrestling alligators than taking orders, grunted his way through our entire interaction. When we dared to inquire about the menu (a grease-stained relic that resembled a ransom note more than a bill of fare), he simply shrugged and mumbled something about the "chef's surprise." Surprise indeed. What arrived could only be described as a culinary crime scene. An unrecognizable slab of meat (mystery protein, anyone?) partnered with a side of what appeared to be week-old mashed potatoes haunted by the ghost of flavor.
Ambiance to Match the Atrocity
The decor, if you can even call it that, was a depressing reflection of the food. Imagine flickering fluorescent lights illuminating a room that hasn't seen a paintbrush since the fall of the Berlin Wall. The only saving grace was the faint hum of traffic from the street outside, a constant reminder that there was, in fact, a world beyond this gastronomic nightmare.
Fleeing the Scene
Needless to say, we didn't linger over dessert (unless you count the complimentary heartburn that came free with every entree). We practically threw money at the bewildered waiter and bolted for the nearest exit, vowing never to return.
The Verdict: Avoid Like the Plague
Do yourself a favor, folks. If you're looking for a decent meal in Budapest, there are literally hundreds, maybe even thousands, of other options. Unless you're a glutton for punishment (or a health inspector looking for a challenge), then steer clear of The Pits. This place is a monument to all that is wrong with the restaurant industry, and a stain on the otherwise lovely city of Budapest.

Tab water was fine tho.

Tasty meal, unfortunately we were waiting for 1 hour and there were no veggies with the meal.

Pysznie, przepysznie, polecam. Mieliśmy szczęście, że udało się znaleźć stolik. Obsługa świetna, klimat byłby extra gdyby nie muzyka i hałas ludzi chcących porozmawiać by zagłuszyć muzykę. Muzyka nieklimatyczna, nie słychać własnych myśli. To nie sprzyja siedzeniu dłużej niż tylko zjeść i wyjść, ale może o to chodzi.

Jedzenie petarda wszystko co zamówiliśmy było super , kelnerzy na wejściu robili wszystko żeby nam znaleźć wolny stolik przy pełnym obłożeniu ale kelner który nas obsługiwał : dramat dramat jeszcze raz dramat , było bardzo głośno a to jednak restauracja a nie dyskoteka .

Hangulatos hely, finom volt az étel és Márk, a felszolgáló fiatalember kifejezetten kedves volt.

Es hat mir gut gefallen und das Essen schmeckt mir fantastisch. Ich würde mich besonders bei Mihdi bedanken, da er sehr freundlich und nett war.

Hangulatos hely, nagyon kedves kiszolgálással! Az ételek is jók, jó helyen van, és kutyabarát.

Cadre très sympa avec une grande terrasse avec de grandes tables, un petit rooftop et un intérieur chaleureux. La cuisine est très varié, on y trouve des goulash, des hamburgers, des plats indiens et des plats thaï, tous très réussis. Il y a également une belle carte de vins hongrois. Prix très raisonnables et personnel agréable mais service parfois un peu long.

j'y ai passé un bon moment entre amis, pour boire un verre. ambiance et cadre sympa :-)

Extrêmement déçue par la lenteur et la qualité du service. Le serveur m'a amené un hamburger après plus de 45 min d'attente. Il a fait tomber tomates et concombres par terre et n'en a jamais ramené d'autres. Pour ce prix là à éviter! Dommage car le cadre est relativement sympa!
