Wunderbar bequeme Betten. Preise im Hotel exorbitant
If you want to experience things outside the hotel you need a car, as it's rather far away from most things adventurous. (Except water sports and diving, which can be done in front of the hotel at the beach)
The service and attention to detail is outstanding. From the delicious, artistic morning coffee made by Bhishav to the evening meal everything has been 100%. The menu is delicious and lots to choose from, as we are vegetarian the team have been kind enough to make us bespoke meals to ensure exciting new meals every evening, many thanks to Med the manager for arranging this, he has been super thoughtful and attentive during our stay. Big thanks to all the team including Viana, Vishal, Shib Rajiv and Loic for making our honeymoon so special.
Location wise the hotel is right on the beach and there is good snorkeling to do. Also the boathouse team arrange a daily snorkeling trip to a lovely patch of coral where you can see lion fish, box fish trumpet fish and more. The boat house has other fun activities for you to do daily like kayaking.
I would highly recommend salt to anyone visiting Mauritius
If we could describe it in three words they would be: Boojee. Fashionable. Delicious. It has the ultimate Soho House vibes.
Special thanks to the amazing staff Viana
Ved, Vinesh, Angel and the BRILLIANT Akhilesh who went above and beyond to ensure our honeymoon was nothing short of amazing. Thank you!
The location of this hotel is a piece of paradise in itself, with breathtaking views of the crystal-clear Indian Ocean and pristine beaches right at your doorstep. What truly sets this hotel apart was the how sustainable it was and also the outstanding food; every meal was a culinary masterpiece, blending local flavors with international cuisine to perfection. We loved it so much, we extended our stay.
The impeccable service, friendly and attentive staff, stunning location, and delectable food make it a must-visit destination for anyone seeking a luxurious and memorable getaway. Without a doubt, we would wholeheartedly come back to relive this incredible experience.
There was also some things we did not like as much. We would have liked to do some water sports (sailing, windsurfing) - but they stopped offering this Post covid. We booked the 'breakfast only' option because we had read about the restaurant being not the best. We tried it for both Lunch and Dinner. It was not bad food, but for the price you pay it was also not great - we did not like it as much. It did not feel like a good option so we mostly went out for dinner (better food and prices), but without our rental car this would not have been possible.
For breakfast there were plenty of healthy options from the a-la-carte menu, homemade kombucha, fresh tropical fruit juice, and delicious pastries and jams. The private beach is sandy, and there were always sunbeds and beach towels readily available during our stay.
We would recommend renting a car to fully explore this part of the island (e.g. beaches, temples etc.), because the hotel is in a quite remote area. It is also worth mentioning that the food prices at The Good Kitchen restaurant are quite high (e.g. up to 30€ for a portion of fish), so we opted for dinner at the nearby Trou d'Eau Douce on a few occasions for more local and budget-friendly options.
All things considered, SALT of Palmar is among our top choices to stay when we visit Mauritius again!
Food and beverage prices reminded me of Scandinavian 5-star hotel prices. Very high, but that's the price of luxury, I guess. Many ingredients were locally sourced, and the hotel was proud to show that off in their app and by the gift shop.
Staff at the gift shop (receptionists) were friendly and attentative. Their concept does not require a reception. Instead, they seat you by their library and check you in via their tablet. They serve you a fresh beverage while you wait. Luggage is brought to your room while the staff member explains the hotel.
Drinks at the bar were nice, and the bartender got excited to see me film the drinks as they were prepared. So, I invested a little bit of energy to make a nice video for him to post on his social network. =)
