Le 20 Degrés Sud – Relais & Châteaux, situé dans le nord de L’Île Maurice, dissimulé à l'abri des regards derrière une porte en chêne, se trouve un trésor d'élégance et de raffinement.
Ancienne cocoteraie transformée en boutique hôtel, l’établissement de 5 étoiles a intégré la prestigieuse association Relais & Châteaux en 2013, affirmant notre dévotion à l'excellence culinaire et à l'art de l'hospitalité et se rangeant en tant que seul Relais & Châteaux du pays.
Le concept unique réside dans une approche authentique et exclusive. Avec une équipe dévouée et souriante, notre priorité est de veiller au bien-être et à la satisfaction des hôtes. "Un personnel heureux est égal à des clients heureux". C'est cette philosophie qui nourrit notre désir de créer un environnement chaleureux et convivial.
Étant un boutique hôtel exclusivement réservé aux adultes (interdit aux moins de 12 ans), l’hôtel offre un cadre intime, faisant de nous le choix idéal à la recherche de moments reposants.
Au sein des 36 chambres uniques, dont 7 suites, les clients découvrent un havre de paix aux tons apaisants, offrant des vues magnifiques sur les eaux turquoises et la végétation luxuriante de l’île. Le chef du restaurant L’Explorateur, Sanjeev Purahoo, concocte des saveurs locales qui se marient harmonieusement aux influences internationales. La cuisine gastronomique au 20 Degrés Sud est une véritable invitation à un voyage gustatif inoubliable.
Parmi les nombreux trésors du 20 Degrés Sud, on y trouve le M/S Lady Lisbeth, le plus ancien bateau à moteur de l'île. Il offre des croisières gastronomiques sous les étoiles, bercés par les douces eaux de la baie de Pointe aux Canonniers. Le M/S Lady Lisbeth tire son nom à la suite de l'accueil de la Reine Elizabeth à son bord lors de son voyage vers la capitale, Port-Louis. Il était autrefois utilisé comme navette pour transporter les passagers.

Pros:
Room I stayed was really good, comfy, nice view, and water pressure was great and hot. That's pretty much it.
Cons:
Way over priced. Bottle of water cost Rs325 ($10aud!!)
When you book for a half board or all inclusive, it states that the breakfast and dinner are inclusive, which is a LIE! You basically get a "credit" of Rs2250 per person to spend on your food. That means, when you order a la carte(the only option you have), you need to order the cheapest entree, main and dessert in order not to pay the excess amount.
I have never in my entire life stayed in a 5 star hotel that gave me a credit when it says included in the terms and conditions. You won't find any information about this on their website. I've only found out about this when i was at the restaurant and opened the menu. I've attached an image for you guys to see... food is also mediocre, nothing wow. Client next to me brought their own water bottle and wine because everything is so over priced at this place. Another client was complaining that she had stomach ache from the food and my food was dry and salty. When i told the manager about it, he said "ohh maybe your taste bud isn't used to this and everyone has a different taste bud" and to "redeem" themselves, all i got was a glass of wine and a mocktail.
Customer service is pretty bad - most staffs do not smile and no proper manners. There is 1 particular waiter who is horrible. There are a few staffs who are amazing but most of them are not...
For the price I paid, it wasn't worth it at all. Save yourself some money and find another place.
Lastly, if you're looking to swim in the ocean, find another place. It's a nice beach to chill on sand but not to swim. The location of this area is very windy and a bit rocky. The waves are quite strong and water cold.
Greetings from The 20 Degres Sud, thank you for taking time to drop your feelings through the below comments. I really appreciate to get the feel of your experience and believe me that I will take good note of it to improve the level of service of the Resort.
On another note, I cannot hold myself of explaining to you some aspect of your comments as it does not reflect the level of service and the quality of the food that you are criticizing.
Regarding the price of our water bottle, you should have also mentioned that these waters are imported bottles and that we do have locally bottled water sold at Rs 150.00. I want to reassure you that we are completely in the range of price compared to other 5-star hotel.
As for the credit conditions, this condition allows our guests to choose their menu from an extensive A La Carte and within this specific allocation. We also propose a daily special menu including the starter, main course and dessert which stays within the credit allowance. The aim of doing that is mainly to allow our guests to craft their own offering rather than being imposed a Half Board menu every night. Of course, we do have some dishes that are more expensive than others as they are made of high-end product, but it does not prevent the guests from choosing them and stay within the credit or pay the supplement if it gets over the credit limit.
Our chef and his brigade always strive to be more and more creative day after day and saying that the food is mediocre is too much for a restaurant which is known by the high quality of its food. Please note that your situation is an uncommon case. Should we have known it during your diner, the chef would have been very responsive, and he would have certainly taken action to address your concern.
We are however very attentive of every comment that we received from our guests, and this is why we took your comments concerning the level of salt in your dish with high respect and got back to you to better understand your comments, we even proposed you to reduce the amount of salt in your specific dishes and invited you for an aperitif to show you our level of concern. The team is trained to jump on every comment our guests make and try to do our upmost possibilities to solve and sort the issue to the expectations of the guests. I realize that our approach did not please you and that you even extended your issue to other guests.
I take good note of the comment you attach to the attitude of the staff which is an isolated comment but believe me that I will be spending time on this aspect of your appreciation.
You were unfortunately residing with us during the period where the island, even the south hemisphere, was under the influence of very strong waves and obviously strong winds, there were even an alert from the authorities to avoid swimming and sailing in the lagoon.
Again, I do thank you for your comments but would appreciate a more honest review from your end. I do wish you a great end of Year 2023.

Très calme avec une magnifique vue.
Le service et les repas sont excellents
L'hôtel est excentré mais quelques navettes sont prévus dans la journée pour se rendre à grand baie. Pour le soir il faut prendre un taxi
