A beautiful place to stay with attentive staff.

We had a great stay at Château Le Cagnard, it’s in a great location, close to beautiful restaurants and also has a fabulous restaurant of its own.

Nice is close by, the train station a 20 minute walk away too.

Just perfect, the terrace and pool were also perfect.

I would recommend, the hotel’s breakfast service out on the balcony, the best way to start the day.

The local village is stunning with some good restaurants and friendly residents.

We also took day trips to other areas and used the Uber service which was nice and easy.

Ein verstecktes Juwel mit historischem Charme – absolut empfehlenswert!

Château Le Canard gehört zu den schönsten und romantischsten Hotels, die wir je besucht haben. Als Teil der Small Luxury Hotels of the World bietet es weit mehr als manch ein klassifiziertes 5-Sterne-Haus – vermutlich fehlt nur die direkte Autozufahrt, da die letzten Meter per charmantem Hotelshuttle zurückgelegt werden müssen. Für uns war das eher ein Plus: Es sorgt für Ruhe und Abgeschiedenheit mitten in der historischen Altstadt von Cagnes-sur-Mer.

Das internationale Servicepersonal ist hervorragend geschult, herzlich und spricht fließend Englisch. Unser Zimmer war stilvoll eingerichtet, makellos sauber und das Bett unglaublich bequem. Der gesamte Hotelbereich ist sehr gepflegt, mit liebevollen Details und einer Atmosphäre, die sofort zur Entspannung einlädt.

Besonders hervorzuheben ist das hauseigene Restaurant: Die Küche ist ein echtes Highlight. Unser Muschelgericht und die gratinierten Austern waren auf Sterne-Niveau – frisch, raffiniert und perfekt zubereitet. Dazu eine durchdachte Weinkarte und stimmige Getränkeauswahl.

Auch organisatorisch lief alles reibungslos: In der Hochsaison konnten wir spontan um eine Nacht verlängern – ohne Zimmerwechsel. Der Service war auch hier flexibel und lösungsorientiert. Und: Hunde sind nicht nur erlaubt, sondern willkommen – mit viel Herzlichkeit.

Ein kleiner Punktabzug geht an das Housekeeping: Beim Auffüllen von Getränken, Tee und frischen Gläsern wurde leider etwas geschludert. Angesichts des sonst exzellenten Standards fiel das zwar auf, trübte den Gesamteindruck aber nur minimal.

Die Lage ist einmalig: Direkt am Schloss gelegen, mit Blick auf die Altstadt und einer Umgebung, die von Geschichte und Atmosphäre lebt. Wer ein ruhiges, besonderes Hotel mit echter Seele sucht, abseits vom Massentourismus, wird hier voll auf seine Kosten kommen!

Гарний краєвид на гори та море. Непогане меню, але готують дуже довго. 1 блюдо несуть 1 годину. Тобто що з'їсти 3 блюда потрібно витратити 3 години. І це я був не при повному завантаженні ресторану. Очікування були інші.

Un cadre exceptionnel que cette demeure du XIII siècle, sublimé par un personnel adorable et aux petits soins. Nous avons passé un séjour merveilleux, un grand merci à toute l'équipe !

We had the pleasure of staying at this absolutely charming hotel, and every moment was a delight. The stunning location alone would have been enough—but the warm, friendly staff and impeccable attention to detail made it truly unforgettable. From start to finish, everything was thoughtfully curated and effortlessly elegant. A perfect stay in every way.||

Really beautiful hotel, almost a remote hideout. Heads up: if you rely on buses and trains, this is likely not a good fit, as it takes at least half an hour to get to the train station (especially in the scorching summer heat). Coupled with the extreme heat in summers, it is best to stay in the hotel and enjoy your room with A/C, beautiful, tasteful decor. The small, medieval hilltop village is a marvel, and absolutely not overrun with tourists.

But the hotel amenities are of course a bit limited. The indoor pool is nice. And while the hotel restaurant is really great regarding quality, and the staff is extraordinarily friendly, with great service, the prices are quite steep. For instance, we paid 64 € for a two-person breakfast. It was of stellar quality of course, but the quantities left to be desired sadly.

This is definitely a great hotel, but the remote location, and price tag definitely must be considered.

ottima struttura e posizione per un soggiorno di relax in un ambiente con atmosfea di altri tempi. ristorante con ottima vista sul mare e cibo raffinato di ottima quakità. le stanze molto accoglienti, la piccola piscina incassata nella roccia e la professionalità e cortesia del personale rendono il soggiorno squisito.

I chose this hotel for the stunning views, medieval charm and 4 star rating with the understanding that we would receive great service. Unfortunately this was not the case and I was pretty disappointed with our overall stay, mainly due to the service we received. I was required to fill out a form via email detailing when and how I would be arriving. The questionnaire gave specific instructions for how to get to the hotel if you are arriving by taxi and that someone from the hotel would be there to greet us and direct us to the hotel. Upon our arrival we were dropped off on the side of the road (this was the address provided by the hotel) with the hotel nowhere in sight and no one there to greet or help us. The hotel is tucked away through some narrow, winding passageways and after wandering around for 30ish minutes we were able to speak with a local who helped navigate us to the hotel. Once we finally arrived at the hotel no one greeted us, made any effort to check us in or helped with our bags. I opted for a bottle of champagne and when we arrived to our room it was just left out at room temperature with no glasses and no way to chill or drink the bottle. The AC did not work and our shower drain was clogged and flooded every time we used it. The hotel is at the top of a very steep hill and it is not easy to navigate down to the town or train station unless you have a car. Upon check out I had requested a taxi to pick us up and this was confirmed with the hotel concierge. On the day of check out they called my hotel room to inform me the taxi had arrived 45 minutes earlier than I had scheduled it. I explained I was not ready and they proceeded to rush me and ask when I planned on checking out. When I arrived to check out there was no urgency and no one seemed to have any idea where the taxi was or who it was that called my room. They dropped me on the side of the road with all my bags in the hot sun and I proceeded to wait over an hour for my taxi to arrive as I believe they sent the first taxi away. They gave a taxi that did arrive in the time that I was waiting to another guest of the hotel. At this point I was frustrated and almost missed my flight and the employees made no effort to apologize or try to rectify the situation. The taxi service that they chose was extremely sketchy and the driver attempted to scam me by saying they did not take card (which is not true) and required I pay in cash. Overall I was pretty unhappy with the service the only thing that saves this place is the restaurant which was spectacular. I would suggest making a reservation for dinner if you’re in the area but I would absolutely not recommend staying at this hotel.

Otherwise nice experience but when we left the hotel miscalculated our bill badly and twice and the receptionist had a hard time understanding that we couldn't have breakfast on Friday as we only arrived that afternoon! "It's not our fault", she said blaming the restaurant. No apologies! |So be aware when checking out and do the maths that the personnel is incapable of doing.

This hotel was one of the best I have seen. Every single staff member went above and beyond. The historic surrounds and stunning views make this stand out. Not for teenagers wanting to party. This place is for discerning crowds who enjoy history, elegance and immaculate design.

Kleines, feines Hotel mit traumhafter Aussicht und besonderem Charme||Das Château-le-Cagnard ist ein kleines, sehr stilvolles Hotel in der Altstadt von Cagnes sur mer – ruhig gelegen, ein wenig oberhalb des Stadtzentrums. Von der Terrasse und vielen Zimmern bietet sich ein herrlicher Blick über die Côte d’Azur bis hin nach Cannes. Die Umgebung ist geprägt von hübschen, engen Gassen, durch die man wunderbar schlendern kann. In direkter Nähe befinden sich auch einige nette Restaurants.||Die Anreise ist unkompliziert: Das Hotel lässt sich gut mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln erreichen. Vom Flughafen aus muss man nicht zwingend auf teure Taxis zurückgreifen – auch mit Bus oder Bahn kommt man bequem bis zu einer zentralen Station in der Stadt. Von dort aus sind es nur wenige Minuten zu Fuß bis zum Treffpunkt für einen Shuttle, der einen nach oben bringt – und später auch wieder zurück.||Das Hotelgebäude ist alt und verwinkelt, was ihm einen besonderen Charme verleiht. Man sollte gut zu Fuß sein, da es im Inneren einige Treppen gibt. Wer gerne aktiv ist, kann auch von der tiefer gelegenen Neustadt zur Altstadt hochlaufen – eine schöne, aber etwas anstrengende Strecke.||Die Zimmer sind geschmackvoll eingerichtet, mit einer gelungenen Kombination aus historischem Flair und modernen Elementen. Es gibt eine Minibar, deren Inhalte gegen Aufpreis genutzt werden können. Das Badezimmer war ausreichend groß und angenehm hell. Das Bett war ebenfalls ausreichend groß, aber für unseren Geschmack etwas zu weich. Zudem gab es nur eine große Decke für zwei Personen – wer lieber mit Einzeldecken schläft, sollte das bei der Buchung oder an der Rezeption ansprechen.||Das Frühstück war sehr gut – mit frischen Produkten und liebevoll zubereitet. Man sollte etwas Zeit mitbringen, da nicht alles auf Knopfdruck bereitsteht, sondern frisch serviert wird. Der Service war dabei sehr freundlich und persönlich.||Im Hotel gibt es auch einen kleinen Indoor-Pool. Besonders nett: Man kann die Fenster öffnen, sodass eine angenehm luftige Atmosphäre entsteht – fast wie draußen. Der Pool ist allerdings recht klein und wurde von uns nicht genutzt, machte aber einen gepflegten Eindruck.||Zum Strand sind es einige Kilometer – zu Fuß ist die Strecke zu weit. Wer ans Meer möchte, sollte besser den Bus nehmen oder auf ein Auto zurückgreifen.||Insgesamt ein sehr schöner Ort mit viel Charakter, herrlicher Aussicht und ruhiger Atmosphäre. Ideal für alle, die etwas Besonderes abseits der großen Hotelketten suchen.

Hotel and restaurant was incredible - gorgeous views in a beautiful hilly town - food was absolute flavor bomb (try the lamb) - Michelin deserved! Will stay again

Review for both the restaurant & the hotel - we had a fantastic (but too short) of a stay! The entire staff was friendly, accommodating, and helpful! Getting to the chateau is a bit tricky, but they provide clear directions & pick you up once you’ve parked! The room was beautiful & spacious. The restaurant on the terrace had a great menu with incredible service! Highly recommend.

Great staff and service. Truly a chateau worth visiting. The location is very discreet but that’s what makes this a wonderful experience.

Posto particolare , situate su una collina a poca distanza dal mare ben visibile , ottimi parcheggi il paese ha dei sali scendi dolci e poco impegnativi, bella la fonte situata in centro al paese.

I haven’t been to this massage place. My mom doesn’t want me to go to any more massage places.

Absolutely amazing!

Great Hotel, book thru Hilton SLH website. Love the room, completely renovated to modern specs but kept its 13th century feel to it. What a location, beautiful walk thru the streets. DO NOT drive to Lobby with car as indicated by Google Maps. You can make it, but with a small car, one way street.

Rooms are authentic and charming, whilst the restaurant offers amazing views and great food!

My partner and I have been a guest at Chateau Le Cagnard, both the restaurant and the hotel, many times. The restaurant never disappoints and has a spectacular view. This place is truly a hidden gem.

Un grand merci pour l'accueil et le service durant ce week-end très agréable. Nous nous sommes régalés pour le dîner. Les plats étaient à la fois raffinés et généreux. Nous avons passé un excellent moment. Merci encore pour l'accueil et la gentillesse du personnel.

Le lieu est accessible avec une voiture de golf, car les rues sont étroites.

The staff is so incredibly attentive and caring! I visited during their break so I unfortunately couldn’t try the food, but, still, I felt compelled to write above their excellent service. They have gone above and beyond to make me feel welcome, offering me pastries and treating me to a warm blanket, while I enjoyed the stunning view on the terrace. A special thank you to Fiona and the staff. Highly recommend!

If you're not scared of staying a little off the beaten path you can't go wrong with Chateau Le Cagnard. Located at the top of a hill not far from the Nice airport and all the action of the cote d'azure this place is tucked away is a sleepy little village that'll charm your socks off!

We came here for dinner for my parent's 30th anniversary. The experience was amazing. The location was beautiful and the food was excellent. Our waiter was very funny and friendly. He showed us the terrace even though it was closed. The view was breathtaking. I would 100% recommend this place
