Beginning with the reservation: I selected "German" as language for the reservation by phone but, the lady in the central reservation office spoke a very bad German and refused a transmission to an operator in French or English as well as to another German speaking colleague. I tried to book a room for a disabled person (accessible for wheel chair) but, she did not understand what I wanted and only a second phone call to another person could fix this.
Payment had already to be effected at the arrival although credit card numer had been mentioned during the process of reservation. This is inappropriate for a 4 stars house!
On the spot we found an extremely small and tight room where turning the wheel chair was nearly impossible. Only pushing the beds towards the walls was a solution to move.
Carpet floor is insanitary and no more contemporary!
Grab handle at the toilet was installed in a ridiculous place (too far to the back, it would have been suitable as an arm rest of a wing chair) and did not help very much during the process of transfer.
Due to summer wheather the room was rather hot. Window could only be oped a slid wide and air-condiditon worked so noisy that we had to turn it off for sleeping.
The mattress on the front edge of the bed (including its topper) was so compressed due to long use that one nearly rolled out of the bed when lying.
The restaurant was an athmospherical reminiscent of a department store canteen. Clientele loud and noisy, children rampaging and running wild between tables far beyond the normal level. Bad acoustics made people speak even louder.
All in all this hotel has passed its best days and was a complete dissapointment for the price we paid. It was my first and last time I booked Holiday Inn (Horrible Inn).
