Très jolie balade àpied, en partant du camping ⛺️ CapFun des Fumades, un vrai petit bonheur !!
Le monsieur du syndicat d'initiative était vraiment très sympathique, et le musée attenant est une Vraie plongée dans le temps de nos grands et arrieres grands parents, un vrai bonheur !!!

Superbe site
Perched high on a windswept hill, the Château d’Allègre offers more than just a glimpse into medieval history — it offers a breathtaking view and a peaceful escape into the past. Though now in ruins, the site holds a quiet majesty, with crumbling stone towers and moss-covered walls whispering stories of knights, battles, and long-forgotten lords.
Fun Facts:
• The castle dates back to the 12th century and was once a powerful stronghold in the region.
• Its name, “Allègre,” means “cheerful” or “joyful” in French — an interesting contrast to its dramatic and wild location.
• Despite its ruined state, it’s freely accessible and a popular stop for hikers and lovers of hidden historical places.
• On a clear day, you can see Mont Ventoux and parts of the Cévennes from the top.
When I visited, I was completely alone — not a single tourist in sight. The silence, the wind, and the views made the whole experience feel like I’d stumbled upon a secret from another time. It’s definitely not a crowded attraction, and that’s what makes it so special.
There’s also a small shelter or house with a covered BBQ area nearby — perfect if the weather turns rainy or if you want to enjoy a picnic with a view. And don’t miss the visitor book inside! It’s tucked away and adds a lovely personal touch to the place. Just one tip: bring your own pen — the one there didn’t work when I tried to sign.
If you’re looking for a raw, authentic slice of medieval France — with zero crowds and 100% atmosphere — Château d’Allègre is the place to go.
À 275 mètres d’altitude, ce site de 1,5 hectare offre un panorama exceptionnel ! ???? Du Mont Bouquet aux Cévennes, en passant par l’Aigoual, le Mont Lozère et même jusqu’au Pic Saint-Loup et le Vivarais, la vue est à couper le souffle. ????????
Pour accéder à ce lieu magique, il faudra laisser votre voiture sur le parking en bas et marcher environ 5 minutes… mais l’effort en vaut largement la peine ! ????♂️???? Un spot incontournable pour les amoureux d’histoire et de paysages grandioses ! ????
Je reviendrai avec le pique nique.

Mérite un arrêt
Er is een huisje waar je tijdens koude dagen binnen kan eten (en in de herfst/winter) een vuurtje kan maken in de openhaard.
In het midden is een middeleeuwse tuin en heeel veel ruïnes. Overal om je heen heb je een prachtig uitzicht.
Leuk voor een picnic of ontdekkingstocht met de kinderen.
Je kan er niks kopen, maar er zijn vuilnisbakken op het terrein.
La vue de la haut est juste superbe!
