The starter arrived—the camembert roti—and it was the definite highlight. Hot, gooey, rich, and savory, it was a meal in and of itself. For the rest of our trip, we kept ordering baked camembert dishes at restaurants, trying to recreate this experience, but it was never quite as good.
We also had the grilled cuttlefish, which was a first for me. Great flavor, with a subtle char, and spot-on texture. My main was a bit of a disappointment, their signature dish of pork “filet mignon”. The pork was a bit overcooked and the sauce was just too sweet for me, but that may just be a matter of preference. Also, my travel partner had the fries, which were in her opinion, some of the best fries she’s had.
On side notes, great care taken with the design of the menu (something often overlooked in France), and the drinks were great as well.
Slight downgrade due to the pork not being at the same level as everything else, but I really think if I had ordered anything else, it would’ve been an even 5 for Food.
We plan to come back, and will be having the camembert roti.
