After undergoing renovations in late 2024, this newly revamped museum showcases a wealth of Debussy’s personal letters and photographs, offering a detailed exploration of his relationships with family, friends, and lovers. The museum also features interactive multimedia tablets (with explanations in French and English) to help visitors dive deeper into the details of Debussy’s life—particularly his cinematic love stories.
From his initial fascination with Wagner’s music to carving out his unique musical path, Debussy’s innovations in tonality and phrasing, as well as his deconstruction of literary poetry and reconstruction of acoustical melodies, revealing the power of symbolism and the vivid imagery evoked by his music.
Also don’t forget to look for his favorite toad-shaped accessory!
