The location is close to Eiffel Tower so it is very busy. Plenty of seating both inside and out. The meal was fine, but not memorable. Our server was fantastic, I wish I remembered her name.

This was the best overall meal of our trip to Paris. We visited a bunch or trendy places but the food here was so much better than any other meal in Paris. We started with the white asparagus which is currently in season. It came with a poached egg and morels. It was absolutely fantastic. Along with the asparagus we tried the goat cheese and pickled vegetable. My wife particularly enjoyed this dish. Finally for starters we had the escargot which was buttery and garlicky and delicious with the table bread. We had a couple of glasses of wine that were good but they also offer crafts of red, white, and rose wines that are very good and reasonably priced. For our main dish we tried the steak frites with béarnaise sauce and the duck breast. The béarnaise was the best I have ever had and the duck breast came with a fantastic sauce as well as delicious polenta. Finally we finished with the chocolate mousse which was light and creamy and a perfect end to our meal. This place is somewhere that you don’t want to miss is Paris. If you sit on the patio you can even see the top of the Eiffel Tower while you eat.

4 stars is mostly for the atmosphere and service. We all know that good weather in paris calls for nice outdoors seatings and you can’t go wrong witb La Fontaine de Mars.

We visited this place on a sunday for lunch and luckily we had made a reservation to be seated outside. We got the table next to the fountain which is the nicest as you have more light than the ones close to the indoors area.

For starters we had:
- Escargots: 8/10
- Chèvre chaud: can’t rate it I didn’t try it ????
- Assiette de jambon: 7/10 — and 10/10 for the pickle jar on the table
- Green salad: we love this fresh addition

For the main dishes we ordered:
- Confit de canard: 5/10, I found it dry but the taste was good
- Suprême de poulet aux morilles: didn’t try it, my friends liked it but mentioned they had better ones
- Pavé de saumon: 8/10
- Filet de bar: 7/10

We also ordered two bottle of white wine (Sancerre). I would probably try the filet de boeuf as a main dish next time I visit.

For deserts we ordered:
- Crème brulée: 5/10 as it had the egg taste
- Tarte tatin: 6/10, ratio of apples and tart wasn’t there

Overall I loved my experience (good company&nice setting) and would visit again to try other dishes!

Unfortunately, we were not allowed to eat here! My daughter and I arrived just before they opened for lunch. We were trying to translate the posted menu but were having a difficult time so we decided to take a seat and look at an English menu figuring we can order an appetizer while we researched the menu. The gentleman that seated us was very kind. The waiter that came by was cold. He read the menu and explained the day’s specialties. A few sounded really good but we needed a few minutes to decide so when he returned, I requested an appetizer and a carafe of water and he said “that’s it?” so I explained that my daughter was not feeling well and just needed something to eat for now while we continue to consider the menu and he said he had to ask his manager if it was ok and he said no! We had to place a full order! I calmly said, “okay, no problem,” and as we started to leave the waiter scolds us and said “it’s a restaurant, you have to order food!” ????

Umm…I was trying to but you kicked us out!

No problem though because we went over to GLORIA across the street and had the same prosciutto plate with AMAZING service and delicious food! They were happy to accept my money ????????‍♀️

Absolutely recommend!! Definitely not the cheapest place in Paris but the food is excellent and it's a lovely restaurant. Caters very well to both french people and tourists. I've been coming for over a decade and I love it every time.

La Fontaine de Mars isn't just a restaurant; it's a delightful immersion into classic Parisian charm and the rich flavours of the South West of France. From the moment we stepped inside, we were treated to an experience that was truly five-star, largely thanks to the absolutely impeccable service.
The staff were the epitome of professionalism: warm, attentive, efficient, yet never intrusive. They navigated the busy room with grace, offered insightful recommendations (especially regarding the regional specialities), and genuinely made us feel welcomed and valued throughout our meal. It's this level of outstanding service that truly elevates a dining experience from great to exceptional.
And the food! Oh, the food was a magnificent journey to the South West. Every dish felt authentically prepared, bursting with robust, traditional flavours and crafted with high-quality ingredients. We savoured the perfectly cooked Duck Confit if you. It was exactly the genuine, comforting, and utterly delicious South West cuisine we were hoping for – a true taste of that specific region of France, executed perfectly as I'm originally from this region.
Combine the charming, traditional bistro atmosphere (just steps from the Eiffel Tower!) with the phenomenal food and truly top-tier service, and you have a winning formula. La Fontaine de Mars is a must-visit for anyone seeking an authentic Parisian dining experience that highlights the fantastic food of the South West. Highly recommended! We can't wait to return again with my life partner.

Grati n super, Ente ok

Zu teuer für die Qualität und Service

Keine Empfehlung für gutes Essen, aber besser als der Durchschnitt in Paris

Very nice place, great food, atmosphere is good too, but on the terrace at the side of the road, it can be a bit noisy, and the sidewalk can be quite busy.
Please note, this place is quite expensive, but does have some proper Fremch cuisine.
Staff was very friendly.

Look, I get that American tourists must annoy the French. My parents and I are lifelong vegetarians, and I understand this is also not very French. We sat down and discussed various starters and sides to order that were vegetarian, but then I noticed that the menu said that everyone at the table must order a main. I didn’t want to be rude, so I asked him the waiter what would be best to do for us. He said the kitchen would figure out something for us. We thanked him, and ordered our wine and starters, which were both excellent. When the mains came, my bf who ordered the duck was very happy. My parents and I had a plate of vegetables that were boiled to an inch of their life. Not a pinch of salt. Not a bit of butter or sauce or anything. They were mushy and gross. And they charged us 20 euros a plate. It seemed almost like a punishment.

Avoid this place if you are an American or have any dietary restrictions.

The food was bad. Nothing we ordered stood out. All the foreigners were isolated to one area of the restaurant. Maybe perhaps of a shortage of English speaking staff? But that's fine however what isn't fine is the attitude and service from our waiter. He was very rough and had a terrible attitude. Combined with lackluster food. This place is an avoid. I'm not sure how they are so highly rated.

Delicious meal. The service was impeccable. I went out of my comfort zone and got the roasted duck delicious. I have never had duck I’ve been to scared but it was out of this world. I would recommend this to anyone wanted a good and what I think true French cuisine. I would recommend to anyone who visits Paris go here. My family got the roasted chicken and the beef it was all to die for. Best meal ever. Put this on your list if your in the area
