The highlight of visiting is the hidden passageway that connects Rue Saint-Antoine to the iconic Place des Vosges. Walking through the courtyard and emerging into the historic square adds a sense of discovery to your exploration of the Marais. The garden is peaceful, but not particularly remarkable, and while the architecture is beautiful, it doesn’t demand more than a few moments of attention.
The Hôtel de Sully also houses the Centre des Monuments Nationaux, which can be of interest for those curious about French heritage, though it’s a small feature that may not appeal to everyone.
While the Hôtel de Sully is a pleasant addition to a Marais itinerary, it’s not a must-see. It’s best appreciated as a quick detour on your way to Place des Vosges or as a quiet stop amid a busy day of exploring the neighborhood.
A calm and historically rich spot worth visiting if you’re already nearby, but not a destination that stands out in Paris’s sea of extraordinary landmarks.

AWFUL handling of European Heritage Days. The worst. A 90 minute wait (people were sitting in the ground in the live, became the live didn’t move), and then a long boring talk in an ugly room, followed by more boring talk in the bedroom. It was painful for everyone.
In the future they should set up the rooms so the public can walk through, instead of subjecting people to so much pain and suffering. I hated it so much.
From the outside looks like any ordinary building but once you go through the doors you feel like you entered another era and imagine the horse carriages and all the elite dressed up in the 1800s
The House museum of Victor Hugo is also inside this complex of buildings including a magnificent garden
Entrance was free
