Update 2025: Still among my favorite places to go try new things, my husband and I went on a market class and had the coolest time learning the market area and fresh good available there. Great classmates, fun chef leading us through our meal preparation together and tremendously good food!

In 9 trips to Paris, I don't think a single one has gone by without taking at least one class at LaCuisine. I've learned so many things here and it has been the source of a lot of joy, both during Paris trips, and when I'm back in the States and have no access to French pastries (I do love to bake). Every class has had its own unique character and experience and they're always lots of fun! I'm sort of a walking salesman for the place to all my friends back home and can't say enough good things about my experiences here.

Thank-you chef Gracie for a lovely afternoon, sharing your skill at the croissant baking class. We hope that the skill you taught us transcends abroad. You know how to commend a room and catch onto everyone’s humour so quickly. You made 3 hours fly by in the blink of an eye! All the best!

Absolutely amazing food! Chef Cyril was great! We love him! We made so much fresh things to eat! No cheese was even used for our potatoes. Amazing cuisine and I recommend when visiting Paris to do this.

The croissant-making class with Mathieu was a highlight of my trip! The class size was perfect, Mathieu was personable, funny, and made everyone feel at ease. It was hands-on, beginner-friendly, and we all left with delicious pastries, new skills, and great memories. Highly recommend!

After waiting over 60 years to get to Paris for the first time, I wanted to immerse myself in the food culture. My concierge suggested I look into classes and tours offered by La Cuisine Paris. They cater to English speakers, although some classes and tours are conducted in French.

I attended the tour of Les Halles, the center of food culture in Paris. Our guide was excellent: she brought along fresh baguettes (both the usual type and the more restrictive classic type) so that we could sample various food products during the tour. We began at E. Dehillerin, the oldest store for cooking tools, known for its copper pieces. From there, we saw several more cooking tool stores, then on the the food!

We enjoyed a duck liver pate and smoked duck breast at a Foie Gras shop; several cheeses from a fromagerie; salumi from a charcuterie/butcher shop; and of course pastries from the oldest patisserie in Paris. We also toured the Cathedral of St. Eustache (who knew there was a St. Eustache?).

At the end of the tour, we enjoyed Sancerre and coffees at a local cafe and talked about what we had just seen and tasted. The guide was passionate about the places and foods we saw and sampled, and this made the tour both interesting and fun.

I also took a macaron class. I live at high altitude, and macaron perfection has already eluded me. Our instructor used simple, clear and informative language, and was as patient as a saint! Our class included both novices to baking and "old hands". I never felt overwhelmed, nor did I feel that the class was oversimplified. It was extremely enlightening to me, so much so that I have already successfully made macaron at home!

Thank you, La Cuisine Paris, for making my experience in Paris a wonderful one.

SO MUCH FUN! I was hesitant at the cost initially but it was absolutely worth it! I'd recommend doing this towards the beginning of your trip because we learned so much about French cooking and honestly culture. Class sizes were small, and everyone was so friendly. Great staff, and it's one of our favorite memories of the trip!

There are simply no words to express my experience at La Cuisine. From the moment I arrived early, the two ladies at the front desk were so gracious and welcoming, very conversational, they were lovely. And Audrey, our chef, she was simply amazing. If you’re considering any classes in Paris, look no further, this is absolutely the most wonderful place You can attend. We went to several, and this one, really stands out. I learned things I did not know, tips and tricks, and it was just an amazing overall experience. You will never regret taking a class or classes here.

My wife signed me up for the baguette class with her. To all the husbands out there, do it. It was fun and very enjoyable. Go hungry ‘cause you will eat what you make. Chef Eline was terrific and funny! We learned a lot. Sadly we can’t eat all our lessons because we fly out tomorrow. Highly recommend.

This was the first cooking class I ever did and it absolutely delivered. When you meet the group you meet directly across from the market and are immediately brought to the center of it all to really take in the sights, the people and the buzz of the market. As a group you vote on what you want to cook and eat with any dietary restrictions being factored for. Once the decision is made on what is going to be made as a group you go to each stall to get bread, vegetables, meat (or fish) and of course, cheese! The class happens in a gorgeous little house with views overlooking the Seine, when you arrive there is coffee and tea as they wash up the vegetables and get everything set up. During the class the chef did an incredible job of setting everyone up in little groups to get things done from chopping to prepping sauce to cooking which made everyone feel very involved in the meal and incredibly proud of our end result. It was a small group of 8 which meant we could have a really nice conversation about our trips to Paris and the wonderful food others had tried or were going to try on their trip. If you are a solo traveler I couldn’t recommend this enough to get to meet new people and have a really lovely conversation with other travelers who love food! Traveling as a couple who love to cook together and meet new people this is also a must do!

I’ve taken 3 in person classes and 1 online class with La Cuisine and they’ve all been outstanding! I would highly recommend the market classes — they’ve been my favorite and you get a chance to shop in the local markets before cooking a beautiful, seasonal meal. The chefs are all highly trained and skilled (I’ve gotten to work with 2 different chefs, Cyril and Geoffroi) and they answered all my questions kindly and expertly. If you’re an English speaker and a little nervous to take a class entirely in French this is a perfect choice!

We loved the Mastering Classic French Sauces class! Our instructor Audrey was funny and knowledgeable, sharing great tips from her worldly experience and fostering an open environment where we felt comfortable asking questions and experimenting. The format of the class lended well to our learning. We felt it was good value, and provided lots of takeaways for cooking back home. Merci beaucoup!

My friend and I did a cooking class and it was fabulous. One of the highlights of our trip. We started getting some ingredients in Le Marais before heading back to their kitchen perfectly located on the Seine. We made a delicious goat cheese salad, duck breast and softened pear dessert. Everyone in the class contributed and was so lovely to talk to. I would love to go back and take a baking class or any other class they offer. Everything was delicious.

Chef Gracie (pastry chef at the Ritz!) led an excellent and memorable macaron class. She had a bubbly personality and made sure everything stayed on track. It was fun getting to listen to her answers to everyone’s Paris food related questions. The macarons turned out wonderfully.

Taking a star off as the members of our group who were farther away from Gracie found it impossible to hear what she was saying when all 4 mixers were on (for up to 15 minutes at a time). Some problem solving related to that would’ve enhanced the experience - perhaps some kind of clear covers for the mixers or a microphone and speaker for the chef.

We had such a great time at this cooking class in Paris! Chef Geoffroi was an absolute pleasure to work with—fun, approachable, and full of helpful tips that went beyond just the basics. He patiently answered all our questions and explained everything in a way that was easy to understand, no matter our skill level. The cooking process was both fun and rewarding, and the dishes we made ended up being some of the best food we’ve had on our trip. Highly recommend this experience!

We had a wonderful time taking the pastry class with chef Gracie, a pastry chef at the Ritz! We learned how to make baba au rhum, crème brulée, entremet aux fruits (a small layered cake) and madeleines and they all turned out wonderfully.

We had an amazing experience during our Marche Maubert tour and lunch cooking class with Chef Cyril in October 2024! Chef was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, funny, and helpful from start to finish. It was so interesting to see the market through a local chef's eyes and learn about the different sellers and their products. I loved that we as a group were able to determine parts of the menu! We made a delicious scallop appetizer, duck breast with fig sauce, and souffles for dessert. It was one of the best meals we had during our 9 days in Europe! The class was very interactive and Chef Cyril made sure everyone was able to participate in different parts of preparing our meal. We will absolutely be adding La Cuisine Paris to our itinerary any time we return to Paris — there are so many classes and so much more to learn!

Our two chef instructors were incredible - so kind, funny and brilliant with their technique. Highly recommend if you're looking for something fun and culinary to do in Paris!
