Amazing people and place. I like theire welcome drink and discount at the place if you book directly with them. Every day there are different activities for the guests which are free (beer pong, mojito making course, crêpes making, etc).
Breakfast is 7€ if paid a day before or 8€ on a day when you want to have breakfast. They have for sale also all amenities(slippers, lockers, shampoo...) as well as laundry service.
Room and beds are cleaned, only minus that I found is having only 1 pillow and mattress are really thin since it's a sponge (if they change to proper mattress and 1 more pillow, would be amazing)
Rooms with a larger dorms like 12, 10 or 8 ppl, need a better ventilation...
Toilets and showers are generally clean and there is a soap for hands but in shower cabins not having any soaps, so bring your own or get some from reception desk for a small fee.
There are shop and bakary nearby, bus station and metro as well.
Really good location.

The receptionist was quite rude. The way people were standing and there were two staff sitting at reception it looked like there were two lines. I thought I was up and as I approached she said sharply, "EXCUSE ME, HE'S BEEN WAITING HERE A LONG TIME" in a very rude tone. I said I just thought there were two lines. Referring to the other woman on the computer she said "SHE HAS THINGS TO DO." Insinuating the guest has bad intentions when they are just unclear about something is insulting. All she needs to say was "Oh one moment, I just need to help this gentleman first and will be right with you" or anything kind and reassuring. The hostel should work on trying to improve customer interactions as this has been a theme in their reviews.
The location is great, overall for the price point it was fine. I did have a broken lockbox and had to use one in the basement, which was kind of a hassle.

3 mois auparavant j'ai réservé pour une semaine, et je devais rallonger mon séjour.
Un garçon à l'accueil avec un accent espagnol m'a d'abord dit qu'il n'y avait plus de place, j'ai donc cherché une autre chambre sur une application lorsque je suis tombé sur une place dans cette auberge, je reviens donc avec une réservation, il commence par me demander si j'etais là pour des raisons professionnelles ou pour le tourisme, je lui reponds tourisme, puisqu'il ny avait que deux choix possibles, et le jeune homme me dit qu'il n'est pas possible de passer plus d'une semaine dans cette auberge, je lui dis qu'il m'était déjà arrivé de rester plus longtemps et il me répond avec le sourire, "maintenant je n'ai pas le temps je vais appeler l'agent de sécurité"
Je suis allé voir l'agent de sécurité pour lui expliquer que ce réceptionniste n'avait pas le droit de faire son règlement, il m'a conseillé de revenir un jour vers 17h pour parler avec la direction, puis je suis sorti sans chercher à comprendre.
3 jours plus tard j'avais quand même réservé une place dans cette auberge en me disant que j'arriverai tôt et j'irai parler à son chef, et je suis tombé sur le même Tyran qui m'accueillait avec un grand sourire en me disant "ici c'est moi le chef, maintenant je vais appeler la sécurité"
Jamais auparavant on ne m'avait traité comme ça, j'ai vraiment été choqué car il était d'une bêtise et d'une méchanceté incroyable et heureusement ça n'arrive jamais de rencontrer un sal type comme ça
Suite à la réponse de cette auberge qui dit que j'ai été agressif, je n'en attendais pas moins de vous car c'est totalement faux, peut-être qu'il m'en a voulu pour d'autres raisons mais jamais pour mon agressivité, vous êtes honteux.

This is a nice place to stay, not far from Paris East Station (Gare de l'Est). Situated right on the canal, it offers good rooms on a budget with 24*7 staff on site. Two downsides: 1) only 1 common restroom each for male and female on the entire floor which means mighthave to wait your turn; 2) they do not have self-kitchen service, just an oven to heat stuff.
The bar is great with free events each day.
While at this Inn, be sure to visit Sacre-Coere Basilica early morning to catch the beautiful sunrise. Metro from Crimee direct to Anvers starts by 530am.

I am staying in 511. Practically there is no wifi because the signal is too week. Elevator and male toilet is completely another side of corridor. It feels like 50m. Female toilet is just beside the room. There is nothing to stop things dropping from the upper beds. The stair is difficult to use when lower bed person opening the locker. This might be the worst design I have ever seen.

I got 600 euros stolen from the money bag I keep under my pillow,
some one pocked me out of sleep because I snored, the room smelled like feet,
the bathrooms where trashed with poop on weekend night, I could never get coffee in the morning because the restaurant is closed every morning for the low quality breakfast buffet they offer.
The staff is the nicest though.

L'hôtel est propre les douches sont propres, tout est refait à neuf et le personnel est très sympathique. Le seul bemol reste l'ascenseur en panne. Que ce soit pour les personnes à mobilité réduite ou pour les personnes avec beaucoup de bagages il devrait toujours y avoir un ascenseur de fonctionnel. Heureusement qu'il y avait des clients adorables pour nous aider avec les valises, toutes seules on aurait jamais pu...

O hostel é bem localizado, algumas quadras de estações de metrô, tem uma bela vista para o canal, havendo na parte inferior uma área onde pessoas transitam dia e noite e a polícia faz rondas. A equipe do hostel é atenciosa, uma das funcionárias é brasileira e fala português, o staff majoritariamente de mulheres, também inclui falantes de inglês e francês.
Considerações finais são quartos um pouco abafados e poderiam estar mais limpos e toaletes também, lençóis deveriam ser trocados regularmente, e o fluxo de pessoas entrando e saindo à noite deveria ser menor, na minha opinião.
Feedback positivo pela atenciosidade do staff, café da manhã é buffet, máquinas de bebidas e salgados disponíveis na recepção, e há uma sala de estar com wi-fi free.

Very bad experience. Beds are in very bad shape. Only 3 showers for more than 100 people per floor. Very noisy. There are people living there for months. Doors don’t close and your belongings are in danger. Receptionist don’t help to solve issues. Don’t recommend it at all.

Это худший хостел из всех, где я была. Ужасные вонючие комнаты, полное отсутствие вентиляции, неудобные кровати. Номера смешанные, а душевые мужские и женские в разных концах коридора. Грязно, занавески у кроватей маленькие и бесполезные. Ни один стандартный замок не подойдет на корзину для хранения вещей, и вам придется покупать его на месте. Персонал отвратительный, все направленные запросы игнорируются. Фу, просто фу. Худший опыт

Extremely good organized, nice staff overall from security to reception to bar. A friendly buzzing place with excellent cleaning all day long, generous breakfast and good deals ( book direct ) nice terrace onto the canal where smoking is allowed, quite rooms on the upper floors, beds with lights and plugs good Wi-Fi : great experience for a dorm. Curious architectural house, who build this?

Hay una chilena en la recepción que es una mal educada, hice el check out y necesito rentar un locker para dejar mis cosas por un rato y quiero pagar con tarjeta y la tipa no me quiere dejar pagar con tarjeta diciéndome que no tiene muchos vouchers, tiene dos filas de vouchers en frente de ella y no me quiso dar uno porque según no tiene muchos, que verdadera estupidez, y encima me lo dice con un tono de burla, de verdad que es lamentable que tengan a una persona con ese perfil en el área de servicio al cliente

I was in this hotel for 4 days. When I came in the room and checked my bed, there were stains everywhere! I could not sleep properly because i kept worrying about the stains. In the evening when it was time to eat the food came, but they barely even thought about the vegeterian people. We always had to wait so long to get our food and some people didnt even get any. First they said they would give us a veggie burger and later they just showed up with a SALAD.
When it comes to the rooms, I dont really think they are safe. For whatever reason we used our key card on our neighbour’s door and the door opened.
This is unacceptable.

Bien placé métro proche, chambres et sanitaire commune assez propre.
Le service laisse à désirer.
L’accueil été froid, pas d’explications concernant les lieux communs, à aucun moment on nous dis que les cadenas ne sont pas fournis. Donc 5€ pour une seule et unique utilisation.

My first time staying in a hostel and one of the best. Check in was speedy, rooms feature a sink, large window overlooking the canal (mine did at least - I appreciate I may have been lucky to have a room facing it). Beds have sizeable luggage storage which can be padlocked, as well as plug sockets and privacy curtains. Bathrooms are communal and appeared clean and tidy. Only complaint being there was only two shower stalls and given the whole floor share the bathroom plus there was a heatwave at the time of staying, there was often a wait for one to become free. The bar downstairs is good - reasonably priced drinks, the food is quite a bit on the pricier side though. The hostel put on free activities each night for people to meet and chat (e.g. Cocktail making, crepe making and wine & cheese were on offer during my stay. The breakfast is okay, selection of cold meats, cereal, yoghurt and toast. At €7 I’d say it’s the minimum of what I’d expect. The hostel is a short walk from the nearest metro station which will take you into the city centre, or to walk to the city would be only about an hour and a fairly pleasant walk. Overall I really enjoyed my stay here, met some really cool people and it was geared up to exactly what I as a backpacker wanted. 100% recommend to anybody, and would definitely stay here again.

Top comme d'habitude j'ai été bien reçu. Une nouvelle fois merci à toute l'équipe. Je recommande le Classic. Pas trop cher et bonne qualité pour le prix payé

La responsable du lieu est restée insensible au malaise de ma sœur handicapée. Je suis écoeuré d'un tel comportement. Honte a cette responsable. Je ne remettrai plus jamais les pieds dans ce restaurant.

Habituée du lieu, toujours bien accueillie. Délicieux burger servie avec de bonnes frites au bord du canal de la vilette. Je remercie le responsable Alexandre pour sa gentillesse.

Un milk Shake à la fraise qui n’avait même pas le goût de fraise.
