Delicious authentic French restaurant with good food for a fair price. The staff is nice and you have a good view of the enormous variety of people walking by in Paris

Old-school French cooking: steak au poivre, au gratin potatoes, creme caramel for dessert. All wonderfully delicious. Atmosphere is like I imagine Paris was in early 1900’s. Nothing fancy here, just solid cooking, quality ingredients, helpful service.

This place is world-famous for a reason. Super traditional French food and atmosphere. It feels like you're going back in time. I've been 3 times across 5 years and each time the service and food have been outstanding. An absolute must-visit in Paris (as long as you're not a vegetarian)

We were very disappointed with our visit to Chez Paul. We ordered the pepper steak – while the crust and sauce were quite tasty, the meat itself was incredibly tough and nearly inedible. Both the medium and well-done steaks looked exactly the same. The potato gratin was served cold, and even after we complained, it was only lukewarm. Overall, a very underwhelming experience.

Chez Paul was excellent! Fun place full of locals. Food excellent! Service w a smile and she spoke English! Pepper steak, escargot, and bone marrow soup 10/10!!

Un peu déçu. Service très lent et peu aimable. La carte est riche et variée pour ceux qui aiment les classiques. Côté cuisson, bof bof. Le cadre est top. Jolie terrasse.

I was recommended this restaurant by a Parisian work colleague. He said that it was in a less touristy area of Paris and was great food at reasonable prices and was very authentic. That's all true.
It's authentic, a bit rustic and very very French. Ideal.
It does get very busy and you should book in advance - very easy to do on their website.
Service was excellent and very efficient. We couldn't eat all the cheeses they boxed it up for us to take away!!
We tried the foie gras and the snails. A lot of people were eating the chicken and the steak.
It's not quite the hidden gem I was hoping it was. It's a gem but there were quite a few tourists in there. So it's not so 'hidden'. Tourist find it on Google maps. It's also very popular with the locals - which is always a good sign.

Accueil catastrophique. Je reste abasourdie par l'arrogance des serveurs et de leurs remarques déplacées.

We indulged in a more traditional meal at a local restaurant in Le Marais Paris. It did not disappoint. Our server spoke English and was very accommodating when we asked to be moved to a different table due to a smoker sitting at the next table.
We started with the escargot and it was delicious. Unfortunately the bread it was served with was hard and rubbery.
We thoroughly enjoyed our entrees and the cheese board was a great addition to the end of our dinner.

L'expérience a été très rapide j'ai voulu m'asseoir à 18h50 pour boire juste un verre avec ma fille la Saveuse me dit que ça va pas être possible de servir des boissons à 19h je lui dis clairement vous voulais pas de nous elle me répond non c'est le règlement du restaurant cette politique là ça vaut un beau zéro apprenez à soigner votre clientèle????

Service minable et honteux. Je me suis installée seule en terrasse, à aucun moment je n’ai ete saluée par un membre du personnel de l’établissement. Ma table était vide, je suis vraiment choquée par ce professionnalisme digne de rien tout comme les deux serveuses présentes ce jour. Remettez vos employées en questions; j’ai pas l’impression qu’elles soient ravies de servir la terrasse car du coup j’avais du temps pour observer. Bref évitez ce restaurant au profit d’autres où vous servez convenablement accueilli.
Je tiens à souligner que je suis restée 30 min sur cette terrasse, avant de partir. Merci pour votre considération flamboyante.

In the categories of friendly service, comfort food and atmosphere Chez Paul is our go to. Nothing bad here. Best at lunch, it's bizzy with a mix of locals and French lovers like us.

Mysigt restaurang men maten var hemsk. Pepparsteken smakade skosula. Bad om medium men det var supertorr. De stora pepparkornen var starka och det var överdrivet många. Kaninen luktade väldigt illa och var ganska torr och smaklös. Tyvärr besviken

Serveuse détestable au plus haut point, qui ne connaît pas sa carte.. burger trop cuit, sauce inexistante, tarte tatin trop cuite.. nous n’avons pas retourné les plats car nous avions déjà trop attendu. Bref, nous n’avons pas passé un bon moment.

Nice atmosphere but the food was hardly eatable. And we are not difficult people to serve.
The Pepper steak - Steak de poivre - was like a stone. Extremely difficult to chew (and also to cut although special knife!)
The first piece of meat was replaced - but no difference. I had to leave almost everything on the plate.
The burger was okey but not ????.
Big disappointment!! We had booked weeks in advance but will not return. Unfortunately actually. We had looked forward....
The atmosphere is however pleasant

Det var praktisk talt umuligt at få fat i personalet efter maden var serveret.
Det samme var tilfældet med regningen. Den må jeg be' om 3 gange og til 3 forskellige tjenere.
Tænker man kan gøre det bedre..!!!
