This was honestly the worst restaurant experience I've had in years.
For starters we had the asparagus and the salmon tartare. Both were pre-prepared, way to sour and the texture was awful. The asparagus seemed out of a can and the salmon tartare was more like ceviche.
For the main course we had the steak tartare. This was the moment we decided to leave. You cannot call this a "traditional steak tartare". It was humps of meat, drenched in barbecue sauce. We tasted nothing of the meat, just BBQ sauce. We took 2 bites, looked at eachother in disbelief and confusion and asked the waiter to take it away and bring the bill.
The reason I give 2 stars for service is that they did not charge us for the so called steak tartare. Otherwise they were slow, forgot about the wine and our request to sit below in the cellar, which they advertise so greatly with.
I'm writing this review whilst eating a delicious pizza from the Eurasian restaurant across the street. Spend your money there, not at this "restaurant".

Très bon repas, le serveur nous a gentiment redirigé vers les caves qui devaient être fermées à l'origine. Merci beaucoup à lui, nous avons apprécié le geste.

Nous étions un groupe de 18 personnes mais les serveurs et la patronne surent nous accueillir avec efficacité et professionnalisme, malgré les difficultés de l'exercice. Un déjeuner très agréable.

Great delicious refined food, fast and friendly service, overall very good experience. If there’s one thing that could be better, the only thing we could think of was the bread which was not completely on point. But the rest was really great! Can absolutely recommend this place!

Lovely restaurant! We went here with both my and my husbands families just before our wedding, there were 10 of us with some rather picky eaters but everyone loved the food! Great options, great value for money, delicious food, the atmosphere in the underground cellar was great and nice and cool on a very hot summers day. The staff were lovely. Definitely would recommend

We had a dinner for two in the nice wine cellar. We started with a cheese and charcuterie platter which was a nice way to start. For the main course we had the steak tartar and the hamburger, which were both really good (especially price quality wise). For the desserts we had the crème brûlée and the French toast, which I’d definitely recommend. We had a bottle of wine which was decent for 34 euros but by googling this the wholesale price was roughly 8-10 euros so this is an okay deal. The staff was really nice even for mwah french speakers. even making some jokes and trying to talk english.

Endroit sympathique .. Mais un réel attrape touriste !
Accueil froid, personnel peu soigneux et peu renseigné.. Pour ce qui est de la cuisine, quantité grotesque, poulet cru (reconnu par le serveur) ainsi qu’un poil retrouvé dans le verre de champagne.
Un verre de champagne nous a été offert, mais aucun effort sur la note alors que le serveur nous avez informé d’un geste commercial
Nous sommes repartis déçus et en restant sur notre faim.

Wir waren zum Mittagslunch dort und haben ein 3-Gänge Menü für 15 Euro bekommen. Leider hatten wir keine Reservierung, gerne hätte ich im Gewölbekeller gegessen. Das Essen war super lecker und preislich für diese Lage und Qualität kaum schlagbar. Der Service hätte etwas aufmerksamer sein können, so haben wir beispielsweise etwas lange auf die Rechnung warten müssen und auch zwischen den Gängen mussten wir etwas lange warten.

Salmon Tatar: vorab in Zitrone gebeizt, das hat die Konsistenz leider total zerstört

Nous sortons a peine du restaurant, ce fût une belle découverte ! Accueil chaleureux , les plats étaient délicieux et très bon ambiance entre le personnel .

Excellent restaurant recommandé par le guide du routard et cela s est confirmé rien à redire autant pour la cuisine que le service la jeune fille qui s est occupée de nous très souriante et professionnelle nous reviendrons .les mets étaient aussi succulents qu originaux

Très bon restaurant au coeur d'Épernay.
Le service y est sympathique et la cuisine fine sans prétention grandiloquente. On y déguste des classiques de la gastronomie française.
Je reste un peu déçu par la cave où l'on peut aller choisir sa bouteille. Le cadre est sympa sous les voûtes traditionnelles mais elle est un peu sur vendue par le texte de la carte. Je m'attendais à autre chose que les bouteilles présentent au menu.
Ambiance un peu bruyante quand le restaurant est plein.

I'm trying to understand what happened tonight with a 4.3 avg rating and where to start. I'll keep it simple.
1. The starters (egg, cheese sause, croutons/ salmon): the salmon was pre prepared (not fresh anymore) and put in the fridge for hours, the egg dish was just plain cold
2. Main course (burger, vegi dish, Camamber): all cold, not fresh at all and undercooked
3. Dessert (cheese) again not fresh, cheese was cut hours before therefore dry and extremely cold.
Looking into the kitchen I could see the issue, everything was done mis en place (meat was cooked beforehand and warmed again, rice pre prepared, etc, etc.
Very unfortunate and I hope that this was just a bad day for the restaurant and hope others see things differently.
I just want to respond to the comment from the restaurant. I've worked in hotels and restaurants that serve a lot more people with less kitchen staff where nearly everything was done once the order came in (besides the basic preparations). I suggest you focus on the reviews that point out what's not good and try to improve and not give these pointless responses.

Superbe expérience ce soir au petit champenois
Super bien accueilli et accompagné par la directrice et son équipe de salle au petit soin du début à la fin
La cuisine était quand à elle au top !
Sauce et cuisson des viandes exécuté parfaitement !
Belle portion dans les assiettes et de la bonne humeur en cuisine en passant devant au départ après encaissement cela fait plaisir !
Bref un grand bravo à tous je recommande cet endroit !!

Voornamelijk foto’s dat er in de kelder wordt gegeten maar zoals vele anderen hebben wij op gelijkvloers gegeten. Daar is het allesbehalve aangenaam om te zitten. Zaten op de keuken te kijken waar ze constant aan het roepen waren. Bediening en eten op zich waren ok maar zeker niet speciaal. Men gaat uiteindelijk naar daar voor de beleving om in de kelder te eten.
Wij hadden het nochtans gevraagd maar was niet mogelijk gezien volzet (meer dan een maand geleden gereserveerd). Amper 2 minuten later wel vier personen zien afdalen naar de kelder…

Trevligt bemötande av personalen. Vårt sällskap fick sitta i källaren. Personalen var duktiga på engelska och hjälpsamma. Effektiv service och mat och dryck kom snabbt. Vi valde trerättersmeny för €37 och vi var nöjda. Kan rekommendera det långkokta lammet. Till den drack vi ett gott Bourgognevin.

Tout commence par un accueil chaleureux de Caroline ! Elle a su nous mettre à l'aise sans s'imposer. Toujours aux petits soins et son équipe est dans la même lignée ! C'est très agréable et à souligner car de plus en plus rare.
Nous avons pris un tartare de bœuf et un tartare de saumon et asperges.
Tout était excellent, assiettes très bien présentées, vraiment charmant.
Passez au sous sol visiter les caves. C'est atypique, ça sent le champagne ! C'est une particularité dans certains restaurants de Épernay.
Arrêtez vous, goûtez, appréciez, vous aurez passé un agréable moment !
