Our stay here was a dream.
We stayed here as a couple in mid-May and had the most wonderful time. Our room, Olivia, was quiet and cool and comfortable, a perfect blend of old charm and modern comfort. The grounds of the chateau were absolutely magical; around every corner there were flowers and old stone and beautiful views.
The breakfast each day was a delight. Bread, pastries, and jams are brought to each table and then you get to order whatever else you'd like to eat (we always had soft boiled eggs and yogurt with the chateau's own honey each day) and drink.
After a day out biking and canoeing in the area, one evening we wanted to have a peaceful evening at the chateau for dinner, and Veronique put together the most amazing spread of cheese, charcuterie, bread, etc for us to enjoy in the garden. They even spread a tablecloth out on the outdoor table for us, and delivered our picnic tray to us outside. It was a perfect way to end a day.
The only thing to note is that the chateau is outside Amboise, and taxis are hard to get. While we had our car with us, we didn't want to drive in and out whenever we wanted to go to town, so we asked Veronique to arrange bicycle rental for us ahead of time, which she did. They were ready for us on arrival, and were picked up after we left. The convenience of this was wonderful, and made the distance to Amboise not a problem at all. The bike ride to and from was short and pleasant, and not on busy roads at all.
My one and only disappointment was that the pool wasn't open while we were there. I suppose we will just have to come back in the summer so we can enjoy it. :)
I loved our stay so much and wish we could have stayed longer. Truly one of my favorite places we have ever stayed, and can only highly recommend.

What a gem of a place to stay! In the heart of the eastern end of the Loire Valley, just an hour from Chinon in a quiet, serene area, Veronique and her staff have created a warm and welcoming, peaceful environment to relax and enjoy the bountiful wineries and castles on the area. We used the hot tub one evening and were able to unwind after a long day journey to this B&B. We chose this place because I love Cabernet Franc and it’s so close to many great wineries.

Communication was superb, food was excellent and the grounds impeccably maintained. Veronique has created a wonderful escape to explore the surrounding area. Highly recommend staying here!!

We had a great stay at Chateau de Nazelles. It’s a beautiful property, we had the room in the forest with a sauna and private hot tub. It was dreamy. The breakfast was lovely too, and the service was wonderful. I’d return here for sure next time I’m in the region.

Our stay at Château de Nazelles was magical. Veronique is an exceptional host — warm, attentive, and genuinely dedicated to making every guest feel at home. From thoughtful recommendations on where to go and dine, to helping with reservations and adding special touches, she went above and beyond to ensure our visit was perfect. The château itself is stunning, with beauty in every detail and a personal touch that makes it truly unique. A peaceful, memorable experience in the heart of the Loire Valley — we can’t wait to return.

The Chateau Nazelles is gorgeous and the staff was lovely and welcoming. We stayed in a family suite which was very beautiful and had everything we needed. Unfortunately, it was also inhabited by a large ant population. The ants were in every room - in kitchen drawers, on bathroom countertops, and between the floorboards. We left our suitcases on the ground for about 2 hours while getting a meal, and came back to find ants in all of our clothes. Our children are pretty outdoorsy but they were so upset that they wanted to leave before the first night. The staff tried to address this with several traps and vacuuming, but it didn't make a significant difference during our stay. We spent a significant amount of time trying to get ants out of our things and reduce the population to make our kids comfortable to sleep. We had to keep our suitcases up on the tables tops and closed at all times. I was disappointed to have to deal with this problem - especially given the cost of accommodation.

Bien situé, près des châteaux à visiter. Hébergement insolite, partiellement troglodyte, original, dépaysant et très bien aménagé. Le gîte Lucas est incroyable, nous le recommandons.

Amazing experience at Chateau Nazelles! We stayed in the Terra Alta room and it was such a cool and unique stay. The Nordic bath was amazing to come back to after exploring during the day. The breakfasts were outstanding with all local and organic ingredients. Veronique was so sweet and offered help with anything we needed. The grounds are stunning and you truly feel like you’re in a fairytale. Only 5 minutes from Amboise and a great middle ground for exploring Loire. Highly recommend!

Oh wow. Where do I begin. It was our first time in the area and we are in love. Veronique was a delight and so sweet and helpful. The space was absolutely beautiful. The breakfast was incredible with fresh bread, jams and honey from on the property and the kindest staff. We are blown away and can't wait to plan our next stay.
The only thing is transportation is limited. I suggest renting a bike or car. You can utilize Uber like we did just might experience some wait times.
Definitely recommend hot air balloon ride and of course wine tastings which are all close by!

The chateau was a lovely and wonderful experience from the moment we arrived. Véronique is a very responsive and accommodating hostess, she has wide range of local options for food and sites.

The breakfast served by Véronique in the chateau's dining room was incredible, locally sourced and prepared by hand, it was literally one of the best meals of our entire vacation in Paris and Amboise.

Our room was clean, beautiful, and well appointed. The grounds are magnificent, historic, and very quiet with lots of nature to experience and enjoy.

Thank you so much to Véronique and Château de Nazelles!!

A truly delightful and memorable place with an incredible view. Despite our late hour of arrival, we were warmly greeted by the owner, Madame Véronique, and shown around the beautiful grounds and then up to our spacious, fabulously appointed, and incredibly comfortable room with a view out over the Loire.

Minutes from the great dining options in Amboise, Véronique was a great help in suggesting - and booking - restaurants to fit our preferences and timetables.

The breakfasts were excellent - elegant and well- balanced, with very high quality local breads, eggs, jams, yogurts, and plenty of other options to fit most palates.

If you love stargazing, the night skies are crystal clear. And if you're a dog lover, make sure you ask about the owners' dog, Poppy, an incredibly sweet and lovely girl

This is a true hidden oasis in Amboise. It is such a beautiful property with the most stunning Terra Alta room. The grounds are beautiful to explore and they even have a pool/Jacuzzi that you can use in the summer time. My mom and I booked the Terra Alta room and it was such an experience from start to finish. The in-room sauna and the outdoor private nordic bath is so special. The fact that you have an apartment in a cave is so incredible. The room has a fridge and full kitchen - which is very helpful. Breakfast was also delicious and Véronique is responsive.
