The 6 of us wanted to experience life in a chateau & we got that at the Chateau du Pray. The grounds are lovely & inviting with beautiful views. The chateau itself is well maintained & lovely rooms. Breakfast was yummy and the staff was more than accommodating. We were there for 2 nights & wished the highly rated restaurant were open for at least 1 of those nights, however the hotel staff provided us with small menu selection upon our arrival. Wish we had more time to stay & relax & enjoy the beautiful pool (need warmer weather) ||Highly recommend this chateau.

Franchement décevant pour une table 1*.
Peu de recherche dans les plats. Service fait par des jeunes sympathiques mais peu sûrs d'eux. Attente pour le vin car le sommelier était seul....
Les plats ne sont vraiment pas copieux. Le cadre est par contre plutôt chouette!

Nous avions réservé une table pour un anniversaire deux mois à l’avance. À notre arrivée, pas d’accueil. 30 minutes pour avoir la carte, une heure pour l’entrée, 3 plats, 3 heures. Les serveurs se promènent et passent devant vous sans débarrasser les assiettes terminées. Service totalement désorganisé. Le gâteau d’anniversaire est arrivé au moment où nous recevions l’addition. C’est dommage car la cuisine est imaginative mais cela ne suffit pas pour représenter une étoile Michelin et une bonne note au GM. La qualité du service compte ! Face à ce fiasco dans le service, le maître d’hôtel n’a même pas eu la courtoisie d’offrir l’apéritif. Nous m ne reviendrons pas et adresserons une réclamation à Michelin.

repas dans cave voûtée avec atmosphère feutrée et personnel aux petits soins.|Nuit passé dans la tour du château avec seul inconvénient : porte très basse, il fallait baisser la tête, car nos aïeux étaient petits !!! (c'est une réflexion humoristique, bien entendu !) Personnel hôtelier autant au top que celui du resto !|Pourtant, le dîner était une boite smartbox !!

We had a fantastic stay at Château de Pray summer (2024). The Pavilion Room was perfect, the breakfast was great, and the pool was a relaxed spot to enjoy an afternoon drink in the sun. The evening food was delicious, as was the selection of wine. There’s no better place to eat and drink than on the terrace overlooking the gardens. Laura and the other members of staff were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the area. The location itself was ideal for day trips to Amboise and Tours. We’ve already booked to come back (2025)!

Freundlich der Empfang und Gepäckservice.|Alles sauber, alles ok. Parkplätze vorm|Schloss. Ein schöner Garten ist auch da.|Im Hintergrund liegt ein großes Pavillon mit 4 Zimmern. Die kleine Terrasse mit Stühlen bietet herrlichen Blick auf Garten und Schloss. Bestens geeignet für Rollstuhlfahrer. Romantik. |Das Hotel hat ein sehr gutes Restaurant.|Feine Küche, saisonal. Sehr große regionale Weinkarte. Käseplatte und leckere Dessert. Kaffee und ein Digestiv runden den genussvollen Abend ab.|Dann sinken Sie ins Bett bei absoluter Stille. Genießen Sie es.|Idealer Ausgangspunkt für Touren an der Loire und deren Weingütern.|Wichtig: Die Schlosskapelle in der Burg von Amboise mit dem Grab von|Leonardo da Vinci. Die Aussicht auf Stadt und Loire ist herrlich.|Info: da Leonardo auf Reisen immer seine Mona Lisa mitnahm, ist das Bild nach seinem Tod in Amboise beim damaligen König geblieben und in Franz. Beautiful historic chateaux near Amboise. Our room was spacious with a very large adjoining and modern bath. Best of all were the staff who were most gracious and helpful! They went out of their way to make our stay truly memorable. Special kudos to Pierre who was on duty the day we checked in-he was most helpful and kind. We look forward to staying at the Chateau De Pray again!

Good hotel, very pretty and good atmosphere. |Needs rejuvenation as a bit tired. |Staff were helpful. Great breakfast. |Would expect to have a gym here and a better lobby. |If you are looking for a good 4 star hotel in this area and want the quiet and the view of a nice garden this is a good choice.

We had a short stay of 3 nights in the Chateau de Pray in August 2024. We were on a trip round France with our 2-year old Goldendoodle. We were given a wonderful ground floor room with access straight out to the grounds. The bed was very comfortable, the service was impeccable and the food was divine. The weather obliged and so we were able to eat on the terrace every evening. The setting was beautiful, food and service to die for and the dog was treated just like another guest. I can't recommend the Chateau De Pray highly enough and we intend repeating our visit at some stage we were so impressed.

Excellent repas , utilisation d un bon cadeau reçu à Noël comprenant entrée,plat et dessert avec un verre de vin en accompagnement de chaque plat . Je reviendrai avec plaisir !
Je ne note pas les chambres car je n ai pas dormi sur place !

Réservation via une offre very chic vue sur Veepee.|L’hôtel est très bien, nous avons été accueillis avec une surprise Nuxe, et tout le charme des établissements traditionnels (baignoire, Peignoir, kit couture qui m’a été utile). |Le petit déjeuner reste assez sommaire mais suffisant.|Le restaurant l’orangerie est parfait. Le menu nous a été présenté en début de repas. Dans le détail et heureusement car j’arrive à mon seul bémol de cette délicieuse soirée. Le plaisir de l’étoile réside aussi dans la présentation des plats, à fortiori quand vous n’avez pas choisi lesdits plats. Le serveur nous les a présentés de façon bien trop simple. « Rouget en sauce civet, bonne continuation » alors qu’il y a Bie. Plus à dire. Nous avons dû nous remémorer à chaque plat ce que le premier serveur nous avait annoncé des notre arrivée: le safran, l’orange, la réglisse… vraiment dommage. Mais qui ne gâche pas non plus le plaisir. A découvrir. |Excellents conseils et échanges avec le sommelier.

Un établissement qui mériterait une cinquième étoile ! Des personnes exceptionnelles par leur bienveillance, je recommande chaleureusement cet établissement. Nous sommes venus en famille et nous repartons ravi.

Magnifique séjour au château de Pray|Personnel charmant, que ce soit à l’accueil ou au restaurant |Jolie chambre, lit très confortable, silence absolu et belle vue sur le parc ( nous étions dans la numéro 3 ).|Dîner délicieux à l’Orangerie. Nous avions un menu surprise mais n’aimant pas le plat, le chef a très gentiment modifié notre menu, et il était succulent ! Certes, le service a été un peu lent, mais le personnel était adorable.|Bravo et merci !

The Château is located in the quite area and we were able to relax. It is perfect as a base for Loire castle visits.||The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Staff were really nice and kind.||You can feel the history of château in the public space where you see some old paintings and furnitures.||The restaurant was fabulous. We really enjoed each and every dish.

I highly recommend a stay at this beautiful, historic, and wonderfully staffed property. |You will be staying in an ancient chateau among its stained glass, wood paneling, tapestries and historic furnishings. The staff, especially Pierre, were overwhelmingly gracious, helpful and accommodating.|We stayed in the fall, so could not take full advantage of their beautiful terrace, gardens and huge pool overlooking the Loire River. We fully intend to return in a warmer month.|The hotel is located ideally to explore the chateaux of the Eastern Loire. Parking is easy in their courtyard. |Five stars!

Voilà un château qui ressemble bien à un château. Ce que nous avons apprécié ce sont l’emplacement, la qualité et la disponibilité du service, le cadre très bien entretenu, le confort et l’équipement des chambres, le parking privé équipé de bornes de recharge gratuites, le petit déjeuner très riche et gourmand.
Une étape hors du temps.
Merci à toute l’équipe et en particulier à Pierre pour sa parfaite compréhension des besoins et son engouement à les satisfaire.

What a disapointment and nothing like the photos. On entering the chateau what immediately hits you is the dreadful smell and then the awful decor. There is a dingy and a very unchic reception area with artificial flowers and scattered bibs and bobs. We are directed to our room on the second floor which is awful. I booked a garden view. We are shown another room which is better and has windows that overlook the front gardens. We do not eat at the chateau due to the smell in the dining room ..I don't think anyone else does either and we find a marvellous petisserie in Amboise that we have breakfast at every day for 4 days ( L'horloge)
The decor is dreadful, very unchic and mismatched. The carpets are grey and threadbare and there is nothing luxurious about this place even though the photos tell a different story.
We paid a large sum of money to stay here. I do not understand why precedence is given to the diners booking at their Michelin star restaurant for the night while we have to park on the grounds outside the chateau.
I do not recommend this place.

What a dissapointment. The chateau looked the part and the location is perfect but that is it. On entering the reception the first thing that hits you is the smell.. The reception is dingy and badly decorated with artificial flowers and bibs and bobs. We are shown around and the manky, heavy nauseating smell is still there. We are shown to our room up 2 flights of stairs into a dreadful attic space with no view and tiny windows.. I booked a garden view. We are shown another room ( 6) which is much better and has no smell. The bed was comfortable.|We stayed 5 days and saw no one having breakfast ..could it be the smell. We went to a lovely petisserie in Amboise every morning and it was heaven at €13 for the 2 of us.|The decor is dreadful but looks great in the photos..there is nothing luxurious or indulgent about this place.

Mon humble avis sur le restaurant... Service sympathique mais malheureusement plutôt amateur...Par exemple, le sommelier oublie de passer au milieu du repas. Les plats sont bons sans être incroyables et surtout, la cuisine a peine a suivre avec une bonne demi heure entre chaque plat. De même, en fin de soirée, plus de papier dans les toilettes. Tout cela ne me dérangerait pas s'il ne s'agissait pas d'un etoilé. En résumé, un (très) bon restaurant avec les tarifs d'un etoilé sans malheureusement le service qui va avec. Toutes mes amitiés a l'équipe cependant, c'était peut être un mauvais soir.
