This is a review on my experience with Sunpath over communication and customer service.
I was interested in visiting Mongolia after watching some Youtube videos and contacted sunpath by email with a simple question, How much would the 12 day tour of Tsaatan Northern Mongolian tour cost?
Cost of the tours are not mentioned on their website but they seem to be hesitant to let me know about it, Why?!
I told them that I can book my holiday from June onwards but the reply I got was this: Thank you for contacting us. Could you please contact me after confirmed your holiday.

Why can't I know about the expenses? I need to know this BEFORE my travel so I can budget and plan for my holidays.
This makes me think that they are hiding something, Maybe there are hidden charges/fees that they will demand later when I'm already there?

Imagine what level of customer service I will get AFTER I pay them in advance!

Mongolia is one of the few remaining frontiers, and Sunpath does it well. Godd cost-to-tour ratio.

Our recent tour of the Gobi desert was excellent. Doljmaa was incredibly easy to communicate with prior to our arrival in Mongolia and ensured that the tour catered to our intended trip.
On the tour, Kulan and Jahar were incredibly informative, kind and helpful and went out of their way to ensure we felt safe and comfortable whilst also teaching us lots about the local area.

I opted for Sunpath Travel to go to a day trip to Terelj National Park. The tour guide was professional and kind. The owner was also very kind and met with us before the trip and called us to make sure we were okay after the trip. Everything went smoothly and I really appreciate the efforts the driver, tour guide, and owner took to make us feel comfortable.

A friend and I contacted Sunpath before our trip to Mongolia to ask them to customise our stay there. Doljmaa was extremely accommodating and found a perfect plan for us including the Gobi, Central Mongolia, and Lake Khüvsgül. Puuje, our guide, and Baagi, our driver, made our experience amazing, explaining everything we needed to know but also making us feel at home. 100% recommended!

We had an incredible 7-day Gobi Desert and Terelj National Park Tour from October 1-7. Doljmaa, the operator/owner, was knowledgeable, professional, and pleasant. Our guide Suvd was engaging, well-informed about the geological formations and history, and an amazing chef. Mr Dawa, our driver, ensured our safety and provided a great Mongolian experience. This tour surpassed my expectations. Contact them without hesitation for a comprehensive exploration of Mongolia. You won't be disappointed.

Sunpath Mongolia gave us the best service and we love everything they have done for us to have a memorable experience. We commend the whole team for taking care of my wife & I while in Mongolia. Doljmaa, the owner was very gracious. She answered all our queries in a timely fashion and we did not worry at all coz she handled everything. From our airport transfer, to the Gobi Desert Tour, to our accommodation- we cannot complain. We were taken care of from A to Z. Our flight arrived in Ulaan Bataar earlier than scheduled but we went out and our driver, Patma is already waiting. The hostel, although located in an old building is well-maintained and provided with all necessary amenities. The location is perfect and in the heart of the city, close to Sukhbatar Square. Our Gobi Desert Tour is everything we dreamed of and more and the best adventure of our lifetime. We cannot think of a better guide and driver. Our driver, we fondly call him Mr. Z has a quiet demeanor but we feel safe all throughout and even on what seem like impossible terrains he drives expertly. Our guide Naya, is the sweetest. She took care of us. We love her cooking and all the facts she has imparted about our destination and their history. They even pulled some favors for me to have the most memorable birthday. They ordered cake and have it delivered to our Ger on my birthday. Doljmaa was there for us before we arrive, since day 1 up to our last day to send us off. Highly recommended! We would love to come back to Mongolia and book with them again.

Sunpath has a wide offer of Mongolia-based excursions. I believe this is a very good choice for anyone aiming in this direction in their international travels.
They have a well-organised net of collaborators throughout the country, which makes Sunpath a solid option when you want to be sure everything will happen according to plan.
Special thanks to Baggy and Nara who accompanied me in the trip to the northwestern Mongolia. The excursion was a one-in-a-lifetime experience, and I felt taken care of throughout the whole time. I think that is the most important thing when someone decides to go on such an adventure. Sunpath may be recommended in this regard. Furthermore, you can really tell that the driver and the guide are true-born Mongolians, eager to share their cultural heritage with you. That is really awesome to have while on such a trip.

The biggest disadvantage is the communication prior to the trip. Until the last day I wasn't sure if I'm not getting scammed. I want to underscore: I was not, and the trip was great. But there were some tremendous issues with communication with the organizer and that made me feel very insecure whether this trip will even happen. The English of the tour guides is really acceptable, especially considering how difficult it is to communicate in English in Mongolia in general, so do not be afraid of that - you will have a reliable English-speaker on the way with you during your excursion. But it does not apply to the communication before the trip starts. You need to make a lot of effort to understand what is actually being arranged and that may be stressful to you (it sure was for me).

Recommended by friends, and I would definitely recommend it to friends coming to Mongolia in the future. Would like to commend our driver and guide, Dagva and Bayalagmaa, for filling our trip with fun memories and warm hospitality!

Communication is top-notch as well. From enquiry to booking to the end of the trip, Doljmaa is always there to answer our questions, no matter how insignificant the questions were.

Looking forward to another trip with Sunpath soon! ♥️ Rather than the professionalism (which Sunpath definitely has!), it's the feeling that we were well taken care of like family and able to experience Mongolian with locals, like locals.

After searching for and contacting many travel agencies, Sunpath was the only one willing to organise a tour for us without hassles. Doljmaa was very accommodating of our requests, even though we wanted to travel off season. She was also very communicative over email, and responded quickly to all our requests and questions. Our tour guide Alma was amazing, and our driver was an expert navigator. Since I was a vegetarian, Alma made sure to cook veggie food for me everyday, which was very thoughtful. We would definitely recommend Sunpath to everyone looking for a special Mongolian adventure.

Thanks to Mando (guide) and Sanjaa (driver), our trip to Mongolia with Sunpath was filled with wonderful memories.

Doljmaa is very accomodating. She arranged the itinerary with a good mix of nomad and tourist camps for us to have different experiences.

Mando took extremely good care of each and everyone of us.
He made sure we ate well and slept well. Every meal was thoughtfully arranged as we have special instructions. After a long day on the road, he never failed to check on our ger to ensure all is in order and we are comfortable. When we stayed in nomad ger, he came a few times past midnight to ensure the fire was burning so that we are warm. Needless to say, he is very experienced with history of Mongolia.

Sanjaa is a man of few words. He exhibited his strength in his driving skills. Driving through the rough terrains is a piece of cake for him. Throughout the nine days, his safe driving allowed us to enjoy the ride and was able to stop along the way for lovely pictures. Not forgetting our sudden requests for toilet stops!

For those looking for an authentic experience in Mongolia, travel with Sunpath. They are experienced and they take good care of your every needs.

After searching, checking and comparing several local tour agencies in Mongolia, for nearly a year, I decided to go with Sunpath for this first visit to Mongolia.
As a Solo Traveller (this time) I needed to feel totally reassured and looked after from A to Z and also I wanted expertise and reliability in all services provided. Sunpath is all this and so much more. Doljmaa, the Head of Sunpath made me feel that I was in good hands, since our first emails when I requested info about tours, prices, etc. She did everything to find a perfect Tour for me, matching my dates and budget. She even coordinated a shuttle service at my arrival at Ulaanbaatar international airport. I had no need to worry for absolutely anything, which for me is fundamental when travelling far from home and alone. Mongolia is absolutely stunning and totally safe but you do need a Tour Guide and a Driver. You don’t want to get lost in the middle of nowhere and also lost in translation. Mongolian people are extremely kind and friendly.
I did Gobi and it was just breathtaking. Stayed at the Gers with the Nomad families and it was an amazing experience.
My Tour Guide Bella was adorable and very professional so was my Driver Baagii who drove us safely throughout the wilderness of Gobi and Central Mongolia.
I had so much fun with them. I felt I was travelling with friends tbh and they really pampered me during the whole time.
I had the most amazing time ever and I can’t thank Sunpath Team enough. I will definitely return as there is so much more to discover still (West) and of course I will not hesitate to reach out to Sunpath again.

It's complety fine to come to Mongolia now. No complicated rules here regarding Covid. For other countries we had to do quite some admin, but luckily not here.
We had a super driver, Batcha, and a wonderful guide Mando, he gave so much insight in this country and it's culture.
As I don't eat meat they made sure I got a vegetarian meal, thank you! When it was a cold night they arranged heating in our Ger. The experiences with our host families was the best too! We learned some nice drinking games, got the experience of local food and drinks.
Thanks again for everything! This is a holiday I will remember forever!

This was our first visit to Mongolia. We weren’t sure about handling logistics on our own so decided to book a 3 week tour covering major highlights in the South/Gobi, Central, and Northern Region. The tour manager Doljma got back to us promptly and was very communicative about our immediate inquiries. The experiences on the trip itself were wonderful — the host families we stayed with were very hospitable and friendly, and the sights were in visually spectacular. We wouldn’t have been able to safely travel to all of the challenging and rugged off-road locations without the competency of our talented driver who knew the roads in-and-out and handled them like a pro. Our tour guide was very friendly and personable. Altogether it felt like a very authentic experience of the countryside. On our tour (“Highlights of Mongolia”), it was fascinating to see the different biospheres of the country (all 3 were very different).

That said, covering so much ground meant lots of driving time (some days just that) so we would probably opt for a shorter tour or a combination of driving/flights next time. Also the initial briefing and daily briefly could be improved — especially info on how often and where showers will be available, specific guidelines to dress appropriately for weather, what to expect for meals/food. Our itinerary was reversed due to weather conditions (which was fine), but some of the descriptions were a bit unclear (e.g. “hiking to X location” was really just a short walk). It would also have been great to get a bit more in depth/detail in terms of historical info on the areas we visited. Our guide and driver will often times be fed by host families while they cooked for us using items bought from grocery store — food is cooked on a camper stove with basic cooking supplies and quality of food will likely vary depending on your guide.

Overall, it was an unforgettable experience that we very much enjoyed!
