Jour 1: Moshi to Kilimanjaro (Shira Plateau) to Moshi
Etapes : Moshi
Start from Moshi (07:00am, location to be confirmed) and drive to Londrossi through the West Kilimanjaro Plateau where you will experience the Plateau zone, bird life and may encounter the Blue or Colobus monkeys.
Enter Kilimanjaro National Park through the Londrossi gate, taking the 4x4 road to the heather and moorland zone, reaching the 'Morrum Barrier' where your hike begins (suitable for low to medium fitness levels). Today's hike lasts 1-2 hours on the Shira Plateau, located between two of Kilimanjaro Massif's volcanic cones (Shira and Kibo).
Enjoy breathtaking views of volcanoes, hills, valleys, the Engare Nairobi stream, Shira Cathedral, Shira ridge, and diverse flora and fauna. Have lunch at Shira One camp. In the afternoon, return to the Morrum barrier, rejoin your driver, and drive back to Moshi.
