Remek lovas farm. Sajnos nem holt időnk csatlakozni az általuk vezetett lovas túrához, de megengedték, hogy a lovakat megsimogassuk és fotózzuk. Ha még járok egyszer errefelé, biztosan kipróbálom az általuk nyújtott szolgáltatást.

One of the best experencies of my life. Did go through the ice, a undeep lake and on a very beautiful beach. Even did some gallop.

The winter riding tour that we did at the beach with Stori Kambur exceeded our expectations. First we waded with the horses through water on sandbanks that were frozen over, then we were on the beach and rode along the surf through the sand. The scenery was beautiful.
Sigi was a great guide. He is totally open-minded and nice and told us a lot about keeping horses in Iceland and the farm and took good care of all the riders. The keeping of the horses couldn't be more animal-friendly and they treat the animals on this farm as if they were part of the family.
We would come back at any time and then even do a private tour.

Ich hatte einen traumhaften Ausritt am Strand in einer kleinen entspannten Gruppe.
Die Pferde waren sehr brav und selbst ich als kleine Angstreiterin hatte ein sicheres Gefühl.
Nur zu empfehlen! Definitiv ein Highlight meiner Islandreise, das ich nie vergessen werde!

Wir hatten eine einstündige Privattour gebucht und es war eines unserer Highlights auf Island. Eine Tour am wunderschönen Strand mit einem sehr aufmerksamen und netten Guide, der sehr auf uns eingegangen ist, da es für meinen Mann die erste Reittour war... superliebe Pferde... es war ein traumhafter Tag und wir sagen vielen Dank an Storikambur...

Wunderschöne Landschaft, sehr gute Haltung der Pferde und wirklich nette und kompetent geführte Touren zu einem fairen Preis-Leistung-Verhältnis. Wir kommen wieder:)

I’ve had the pleasure of doing the day tour in early summer and it was a fantastic experience. The guide was kind, experienced and really made us feel in good hands. The horses had a remarquable behavior and were easy to ride, even for beginners. The landscapes were beautiful and the tour gave us the opportunity to ride close the the Snaefellsjokull glacier, on the beach, in a lava field and we even crossed a river back and forth. We also had the chance to ride freely on the beach section of the tour and we’ve tested all gaits up to gallop. As for the negative, the ride is advertised at 4h-5h duration and it lasted over 6 hours in our case, with very little food and no water (Stori Kambur doesn’t allow backpacks). Moreover, there wasn’t anybody to welcome the clients at our arrival so we’ve waited a while before an employee finally came to see us. It is also important to note that a considerable part of the tour was on the side of car roads and that the facilities are very minimalistic. On a final note, Stori Kambur might not be perfect, but they offer an outstanding riding experience in a phenomenal landscape and they truly love and respect their horses.

We had an amazing two hour trail ride yesterday with Donna on a splendid sunny September day. My two daughters and I enjoyed learning to ride the tolt and they did a bit of cantering. The beach, waterfall and other scenery was incredible. Our horses were wonderful and well matched. We've had varying riding experiences in different countries and all agreed this was one of the top, and undoubtedly will be one of our favorite experiences during our trip to Iceland. We also enjoyed our stay at the cottage on site and had great views of the northern lights too.

My kids and my wife went on the one hour long tour at Stóri Kambur and had a great time! One of the highlights of our Iceland trip.

Mi dispiace molto, ma l’esperienza non era all’altezza delle aspettative, abbiamo fatto l’escursione di 1 ora. Eravamo insieme ad altre persone per un totale di più di 15 persone. La preparazione molto lenta, i cavalli tutti attaccati alla partenza in attesa di andare, la camminata è passata sulla spiaggia per forse 10 minuti e l’intera ora è stata al passo.

Top experience. Me and my daughter (9 year old) buy private 2h tour in Stóri Kambur. Kathrine (Blue) make it special and magical. Thank you very much for this !

Einfach ein mega Erlebnis und tolle Eindrücke! Ich war vor ein paar Tagen auf der Daytour und es war einfach nur beeindruckend. Neben der wunderschönen Landschaft, die man während des Ritts um sich hat, waren auch die Pferde super toll und passend für jeden Touristen ausgesucht :). Der Ritt am langen Strand war das Highlight meines Urlaubs hier und ich würde es jedem empfehlen! Einen großen Dank an die tollen Guides und diese Möglichkeit!!!

Ich hatte einen wunderschönen Tag bei Stori Kambur !! Ich hatte mich für die Day- tour angemeldet und es hat sich mega gelohnt. Also zuerst wurde ich herzlich willkommen geheißen und mir wurden ein passendes Paar Gummistiefel und ein Helm gegeben und dann ging es schon zu den Pferden.
Die freundlichen Guides haben jeden einzelnen nach ihrer Reiterfahrung gefragt und daraufhin das passende Pferd ausgesucht.
Ich hatte ein Pferd namens Fengur. Er war perfekt für mich ! Super Tölt und einen echt schönen Charakter und echt gut zu reiten.
Allen wurde nochmal eine kurze Einführung gegeben und dann ging es los. Es wurde immer mal wieder gefragt ob wir schneller gehen wollen und es wurde auf jeden Rücksicht genommen. Die Guides hatten immer mal wieder gefragt ob alles gut bei allen ist und man konnte echt tolle Gespräche mit den Guides führen.
Wir haben insgesamt 4 Pausen gemacht, damit die Pferde auch mal etwas Gras essen können und etwas verschnaufen können.
Wir sind nach ungefähr 3 Stunden an dem versprochenen Strand angekommen und sind sogar hin und zurück galoppiert!
Danach hatten wir eine etwas längere Pause gemacht wo die Guides sogar so lieb waren und von jeden der Sie gefragt hatte ein Foto gemacht haben.
Dann ging es schon wieder zurück, wir sind den Weg von wo wir gekommen sind etwas zurück gegangen damit wir auf ein Lava-Feld gehen konnten. Nach dem Lava- Feld ging es nochmal zum Strand wo wir nochmal die Möglichkeit hatten zu Tölten und durch das Wasser zu galoppieren.
Es war wirklich mega schön , super Team und super Pferde. Ich freue mich schon aufs nächste Jahr , wenn ich wieder komme !!

Overall a HUGE disappointment and not at all worth the money!
We had booked this riding tour many weeks in advance in the believe it to be a BEACH TOUR. The title of the tour is called: DAY TRIP Löngufjörur Beach Ride. Duration 5-6 hours. ALL the pictures advertising the tour are in or alongside water. Also the description reads as if the beach is the main place where the tour takes place. Especially because they say that the beach is the longest beach in Iceland and it’s unforgettable to ride there.
In the end we rode along the beach in total for about 30-40 min.

The main critic point is that what was supposed to be a beach ride was mostly a ride along ROADS. We changed the side of the road multiple times and kept riding along it. A road where they drive 70-90kmh. Finally we left the path towards a mountain, where we climbed the side of a mountain and then descended that one again. When we left the fast road and the mountain side we rode along another slower road for maybe 20 min towards the beach.
When, at long last, we made it to the beach we already had been riding for around 3 hours. We had a fast gallop into one direction with some tölt. Then we turned around and töltet that short way we came from back. We then rode that same slow road back, to climb and descend a mountain again.
After that we turned onto a lava field which took about another hour to cross.

We eventually made it to the other beach. There the sand was very deep, so we galloped mostly, for another few minutes. Far from the water. It was very exhausting for the already tired horses to canter in the deep sand.
We then rode back to the farm.

So on the whole:
5 to 6 hours riding.
Of which 30 to 40 minutes on the beach.

The guides were very friendly so it is not their fault. Also the horses were nice and listened well.

The problem is the advertisement. I had been excited for this tour for months. My dream had been to ride along the beach and now that we have experienced the tour it’s very save to say that it’s simply NOT TRUE what they are advertising this tour to be. A better formulation would be a day ride with a SMALL DETOUR to the beach. It was, again, not at all worth the money.

Also, in my opinion, this 5 to 6 hours tour is not at all suitable for people with no riding experience.

Same day decision to go here so my daughters could ride horses. They said it was one of the highlights of their trip to Iceland. Guides were great and scenery was wonderful.

I had a very fun experience with the horses they had beautifully made trails and the horses were very friendly I had a great time galloping on the beach to end off the day!
