Avis pour le restaurant : nous avons dîné 2 fois dans le restaurant et la nourriture était excellente j’ai beaucoup aimé l’ambiance sous les palmiers au bord de l’eau très tranquille

My wife and I stayed here on out first trip to CR. Everything was fantastic right from the start. Matt had a 4 wheeler delivered to us within an hour of arrival and gave us directions on how to check out Santa Teresa (where was one of our stays this year). The rooms were great, the bar/restaurant was great and everyone who works here is super friendly. We even stopped back there when we stayed in Santa Teresa this year just to enjoy the bar/restaurant on our way to revisit Montezuma.

Stopped by for lunch after a morning on Cabuya island. Delicious mahi mahi in ginger with fresh vegetables was one of the finest, tastiest fish dishes I have ever had.

Maison en bois à étage. Situé en bord de mer sur la côte pacifique. Délicieux repas en bord de mer et cocktails. Personnel aux petits soins si problème, intervient rapidement.

I stayed at Calala a few weeks ago with my sister and cousin. My sister has been here a few times before and now I know why she loves to return! This lodge was so quaint, affordable and chill. I felt instantly at home when we were greeted by Luciano upon arrival. He and the staff were extremely attentive and helpful. The food was excellent and the drinks tasty! The beach was so serene and beautiful. The pool was cleaned every morning and very relaxing. Our cabina was cozy and clean. The lodge is also a great place for kids too! The area had so much charm! The waterfall close by was beautiful, the park nearby had an amazing trail and there were amazing places to eat. Definitely can't wait to visit again!

This place was better than we were expecting! Our stay at Calala lodge was one of our favorite parts of our trip. Loved the quiet location and that fact that we didn’t need to leave for dinner! Food is excellent, and it was really nice having breakfast included. We sat outside one morning on our upper deck area and watched monkeys swing and play in the trees. Highly recommend Calala lodge, and appreciate all their welcoming staff. Only wish we had booked a few more nights here!

Hermoso lugar, buen servicio al cliente, cuenta con piscina, buena comida.

Owners continue to do an amazing job with this place. Each time we visit it gets better, but still maintains the relax. Brilliant team at the bar and the cleaning folks are too sweet. There’s no accounting for the crazy in the other reviews— Luciano is awesome, clearly works like crazy all day and is always so nice to deal with. We feel lucky to have this place to stay and can only hope it doesn’t get so busy that we won’t be able to stay here anymore (though the owners totally deserve that!). Thanks for making such a great place to relax and leave the world behind.

This was my first (of hopefully more) trip to Costa Rica. Should I have the opportunity to go back, I would stay at Calala again! They make the place feel like home. The cabins are simple, but everything you need (very pura vida!). The location is quiet but alive with nature. The bar and restaurant were delicious, and the staff is attentive, but not pushy. Calala and Cabuya in general provide a small-town atmosphere that I prefer when exploring and vacationing. I could not have asked for a better experience and can't wait to return! Keep up the good work!

This was my third time staying at Calala Lodge. My first visit was with friends in Cabin #2, second time I was solo in the Tiny Cabin, and my third visit we were in Cabin #6. This place is very special to me and I can’t imagine visiting Costa Rica without working Calala Lodge into my itinerary. Matt and Cece really have created an intimate beach resort with an extremely chill atmosphere. The property is gorgeous and well maintained. There is wildlife all around. The staff all work hard and are very friendly. It was great to see familiar faces like Luciano who greeted us with a smile and remembered me from my last trip. The town of Cabuya is small but has a lot to offer. I strongly recommend this magical place to everyone!

Nous venons de passer 1 semaine à Calala Lodge...
Point positif :
le cadre est très sympa même si la route est très présente et bruyante...le coté cabane dissimulée dans la végétation est top
Lieu calme dès 21h , la restauration est bonne et le service est simple mais agréable de la part de la plupart des employés.
Points à améliorer :
Le confort des cabanes est tout de même très limite ...
A partir de la 3 ieme journée, plus de ménage dans le lodge sauf vider les poubelles.Nous avons fini par le faire nous même...nettoyage des tasses etc...
La salle de bain et les toilettes n'ont jamais été nettoyées et ceux malgré que les toilettes aient débordées ...sol jamais nettoyé , serviettes jamais changées...
Mon coup de gueule:
Il est destiné à un certain Luciano ...
Il nous a accueilli à l arrivée debout en nous demandant de payer la somme due sans le moindre sourire et dans un climat de tension et d agressivité impressionnant.tout simplement parce que ( ne parlant pas espagnol) je me suis permis de vérifier que la somme était conforme à nos accords .
Une fois la somme payée, il se contente de vous amener devant votre lodge et basta !!!
En sachant que c est notre 3 ieme hotel au CR
même scénario au départ...
Toujours ce même Luciano sans dire un mot , il se contente de presenter la note des repas consommés...sans le moindre mot ou sourire.
Ce type n est là que pour faire du fric et il ne s en cache même pas.
Qu il passe un peu moins de temps sur son portable et un peu plus à faire correctement son métier.
En conclusion :
5 hôtels tous différents fréquentés pendant mon sejour au CR
4 au top
1 pas à la hauteur: le calala lodge

Schöne Holzhütten im grünen gelegen, auf zwei Ebenen mit zwei Terrassen. Blick durchs Grüne aufs Meer. Eine tolle Außendusche. Die Hütten verfügen über einen Kühlschrank, sowie einen Ventilator. Keine Klimaanlage, haben diese auch zu keiner Zeit vermisst. Das Frühstück war immer sehr lecker. Auswahl aus 4 Menüs. Die Besitzer und das Personal waren immer sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Anlage liegt ruhig. Haben dort auch viele Tiere gesehen.
Würden wiederkommen. 100 % Empfehlung.

No me gustó el servicio del lugar, era muy superficial y falso, atendían por compromiso y se veía que no les apasionaba su trabajo. A tal punto de que era irritante.

Trato arrogante de los empleados. Creo que no son nacionales. Apoyar más los lugares de nacionales..No los recomiendo.

I accidentally found this place and had lunch there by the waterfront. They had great service, delicious food and best of all were the monkeys hanging out in the tree tops very nearby. I also saw wild red Macaws when I went for a walk along the beach

Amazing location and staff, some rooms are not of high quality

Viajamos del 30 de diciembre al 2 de enero. A pesar de ser fechas de temporada alta, el lugar es un remanso de tranquilidad rodeado de naturaleza. Se come muy bien con una hermosa terraza sencilla frente al mar! ????????

Wonderful cabin on the ocean. It doesn't have AC, which would be a nice addition, but we managed with the fans provided. Monkeys were seen from the balcony, and the daily breakfast was delicious. I HIGHLY recommend getting a massage with Mable. She is absolutely amazing. I regret not seeing her the first day because we would have booked a second session. The most peaceful I have ever felt in my life!!!

Nice place to stay on the beach but in the forest. I would recommend staying here. We saw quite a bit of wildlife. It was not crowded, everyone had their space. Breakfast was tasty (passion fruit jam was amazing). Location was pretty good for access to Montezuma.
