Only stayed here 1 night. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The grounds were nice.

We're staying in this resort for two nights for our trips to Victoria Falls and Chobe National Park - Safari as well as our Chobe River cruise. This place is right by Chobe River where we can see Hippos in the river. We may see Crocs on our cruise later today.

It’s very close to very to Chobe national park and staff are very great!!

Superb food, the chef was excellent. The game driver was excellent as was David who also did some driving / guiding

Very nice and clean accommodation with very kind staff. Very good rooms. Good service. Good food, they took care of the dietary requirements of every guest. My travel agency chose this place, and I was very happy with it.

Good for camping, facilities need some tlc

There is some confusion about the name of this place. It's the ex Big 5 Toro Lodge, now the Big 5 Chobe Lodge. They are still renovating the place, but it's open & great to stay at! The people working there, are lovely. The rooms nice & it's the only Campsite in Kazungulu with own ablutions. It's a sandy pitch, not along the River, but still good value! Food has to be ordered in advance.

Strategically located in Kazungula, it is close both to Victoria falls and to Chobe River parks. They organise activities that cover both destinations.

Encantados con nuestra elección! Volveríamos sin duda! Es un lodge con vistas al río increïbles, habitaciones en bungalows súper cómodas y bonitas! Se nota que cuidan todo al detalle y con mucho mimo y cariño!
Fuimos recibidos por Sofía, en recepción, incluso hablaba español…! El personal es encantador y muy cercano, está todo organizado con los conductores y safaris a la perfección, son excelentes!
Por cierto la comida también es irresistible!
Sin duda, uno de los mejores lodges en Chobe!

The staff here are lovely - we locked our keys in the car and they helped so much. They also got us wood, told us where to eat.

We camped here, the campsites have their own showers, toilets and kitchen area. The campgrounds are on dirt. The main area has wifi and the view is lovely.

The only issues we had was that the campsites were quite loud - not from other campsites but from neighbouring properties. Music all night, dogs constantly barking. They can not control this.

It is also not in Kasane - you definitely need a car if you want to stay here.

Eine absolut verwahrloste Lodge! Wir hatten eine Campsite gebucht, dort hausten jedoch die Bauarbeiter der Lodge. Die Campsite Ansich machte ebenso einen verwahrlosten Eindruck, alles war dreckig und kaputt. Wir haben auf ein Chalet aufgebucht, dieses war einigermaßen sauber, die Sanitäranlagen waren auch schon kaputt. Die gesamte Lodge ist dreckig und ungepflegt. Der Pool war nicht zu benutzen und alles war geschlossen! Wir hatten Frühstück dabei, welches ein Graus war. Nach unserem Tagesausflug bei den Vic Falls hatten wir uns zum Abendessen angemeldet, es war absolut ungenießbar!!! Wir saßen abgeschoben zwischen hochgestellten Stühlen und Dreck! Eine absolute Frechheit und dazu noch ein überzogener Preis!!! Nie wieder!!!

The rooms were really nice, staff was very friendly and accommodating, the boat cruises were awesome, the safari was not our favorite (we had been doing mostly self drives so being in a huge truck and amongst 15 other safari cars looking at 3 lions wasn’t so special). The meals were delicious, they seat everyone at one table which was a little interesting, you can switch one of the day activities for a visit to Victoria falls but that only includes transfer. When you get to the falls you have to pay the entrance fee. We were paired up with kids so the drive to and from the falls was a little difficult.

Per il mio compleanno, mia moglie mi ha regalato un viaggio di una settimana a River View Lodge in Botswana ! Ha scelto la sistemazione più bella della struttura, molto grande e con una bella vista sul fiume. Tutto il personale della lodge è molto gentile e il posto è incantevole. Come gli animali sono la mia grande passione, abbiamo fatto tutti i giorni safari drive e crociere sul fiume. Matthews, la guida della River View Lodge, ha l'occhio d’aquila, perché vede tutto da lontano e ci ha fatto vivere dei momenti indimenticabili, culminando con la vista di un leopardo. Una mattina presto, ho visto 3 ippopotami sdraiati sull'erba, a pochi metri di distanza, al di là della rete elettrica che protegge la lodge. L’ultima mattina, sulla terrazza privata della nostra Private Home, c’erano tante manguste che sembravano invitarmi a tornare. Età e salute permettendo, desidero tornare in questo posto che mi è rimasto nel cuore !

Dopo tante ricerche e varie offerte ricevute (con prezzi altissimi), ho scelto River View Lodge per le ottime recensioni, le foto ed il miglior rapporto qualità - prezzo. Organizzando da sola i nostri viaggi, ho contattato direttamente River View Lodge.
Dalle risposte ricevute alle mie e-mail, ho capito quanto seri e ben organizzati sono Mike e Sofia, che hanno saputo creare un posto incantevole, con una squadra che funziona benissimo e con prezzi incredibilmente contenuti per quello che offrono !
Prima di prenotare, Shingi è stata molto brava e veloce a rispondere a tutte le mie e-mail, dove chiedevo varie informazioni (prezzi, orari attività ....).
Dalle varie tipologie dei 12 alloggi a River View Lodge (max. 24 persone) ho scelto Private Home : più di 100 m², doppi servizi (un bagno con vasca, doccia, lavello, WC... l’altro con lavello e WC) prese elettriche x Europa, letto queen size (largo 160 cm, nelle foto sembra più stretto), cucina ben attrezzata, bella terrazza, vista fiume...
In realtà, la Private Home è più bella e spaziosa di come sembra nelle foto.
Spazi privati e comuni sono molto puliti, c’è tanto personale bravissimo che lavora per mantenere tutto perfetto.
La piscina non è grande (adatta al numero di ospiti) ma è molto pulita.
Il mangiare è buono e abbondante (si deve tener conto del fatto che in Botswana non dispongono di una vasta scelta di materie prime per cucinare)
Alle 5:30 si parte per safari drive, verso le 8:00, nel Chobe N.P. si fa una sosta per prendere un caffe, acqua e buonissimi muffin.
Verso le 10:00 si torna al lodge, dove si fa una bella e varia colazione, momento in quale si sceglie cosa mangiare per la cena (2 varianti di primo e secondo), il menù cambia ogni giorno. Come vini hanno un’ottima scelta del Sudafrica.
Tutto il giorno, nel posto dove si mangia, esistono a disposizione per gli ospiti : muffin, biscotti, caffè, succo di frutta...
Alle 14:00 si mettono dei piatti con riso, verdure... per mangiare qualcosa prima di partire nelle crociera sul fiume (alle 14:45). Durante la crociera si offre acqua, Cola, Fanta... noccioline... verso le 18:00 si torna
Alle 19:00 si cena tutti insieme...
Ho lasciato per ultimo il punto forte di River View Lodge : le attività !
Come la gente desidera vedere gli animali, questa struttura mette a disposizione il meglio : la loro auto privata, la loro barca privata e soprattutto.... la loro GUIDA PRIVATA.
La loro auto è la migliore di tutte quelle che abbiamo visto e anche provato di persona : più alta delle altre, con le sedie separate, si può stare in piedi e muoversi da una parte all’altra.
La loro barca è abbastanza grande, ha stabilità e si può muovere da una parte all’altra
La loro guida privata, Matthews è il segreto del loro successo !
Lui guida l’auto al mattino e la barca nel pomeriggio, sa sempre cosa e come fare, è sempre il primo nel posto giusto per vedere gli animali, segue tracce, ascolta i suoni, osserva vari segni e capisce subito da che parte andare. Ogni volta ha superato il tempo previsto per le attività, per far vedere agli ospiti più animali.
In 6 giorni abbiamo visto tanti animali e l’ultimo giorno ci ha fatto vedere quello che non si vedeva da un bel pò : il leopardo !
Sofia è bravissima a gestire tutto, sa come fare con il personale e come accontentare gli ospiti. Il giorno di riposo di Matthews, ha scelto per noi la miglior compagnia per Chobe Tours, ma lui non ha uguali !
Sofia è stata così brava anche nel consigliare dove andare l’anno prossimo nel Delta Okavango.
Grazie a tutti, siete meravigliosi ! Ci avete conquistato e speriamo di rivedervi l’anno prossimo !

This place is gorgeous it caught my attention the first time and would still get there again if I had a chance

Visiting the lodge to have a look around, looks really nice and well presented. The Gardener is very knowledgeable about his work and very friendly.

Petit lodge très sympa, situé au bord du fleuve, avec piscine et espaces communs ouverts. Les logements peu nombreux et les repas autour de la grande table favorisent les échanges. La direction et le personnel sont aux petits soins pour les invités et ne comptent pas leur temps pour les aider en cas de pépin. Le guide des game drive et boat cruise est excellent et particulièrement respectueux du bien-être des animaux sauvages

The only problem with the rooms is that there are only decent size windows on one side, so not much chance of fresh air drafting through. If you like air-conditioning then the rooms are good. In general the service was great, the minor issues I experienced was having a room close to the kitchen. The staff made quite a noise when cleaning up. I would recommend this accommodation to a friend. It's small and personal.

Schöne Lodge direkt am Chobe River. Sehr ruhig und entspannt. Sehr freundliche Mitarbeiter. Das Braai Dinner wir excellent.

Nice place to spend a few days. Comfy beds and a nice gardens.

Lovely place, very friendly staff

Sitio muy agradable. La propietaria muy amable y atenta. Nos pudimos comer nuestra comida y cocinarla en la zona común. La habitación muy cómoda, limpia y agradable.

Nous étions en camping. Emplacement cleaning mais pas les toilettes. Robinet brisé, chasse d’eau qui fuit. Le pire étant le bâtiment principal et le service inexistant. Bâtiments délabrés, piscine salle, aucun service (même pas moyen de commander une boisson, on aurait perdu la clé du frigo). N’y allez pas car le rapport qualité prix n’est pas au rendez-vous.

We loved our stay at Nxabii! The rooms are very clean and comfortable, with good wifi, AC, and a nice hot shower. It is self-catering with a large, well-appointed open-air cooking/dining area with everything you might need to make meals. The cute kitten roaming the property was a bonus :)

The highlight of Nxabii is Irene, the owner who is so incredibly kind and helpful! Irene went out of her way to help us book a private Chobe River boat tour, and even packed us lunch and drove us to the dock. We were on a long trip driving between Cape Town and Nairobi, and this was a lovely place to rest and recharge!
