We had an incredible experience with Tucol on the four-day trek to Teyuna. Indio, our translator and Luis, our guide, went above and beyond to ensure our group's well-being. We filled out the entire group with friends and family and Turcol was very accommodating as we planned our trip and had attention to detail. Indio and Luis were very connected to the local community and this sacred place, and their generosity of spirit made the trip delightful. They were creative in navigating through a few camps that were overcrowded and the actual site so we had a the best experience possible. The food was outstanding, and we were fortunate to have perfect weather throughout the journey. We even heard howler monkeys in the distance! Yes, all of the companies do use the same infrastructure, but your guides and their connections matter. Highly recommended Turcol for a memorable adventure!

I loved my 4-day experience with TURCOL, the guides were super nice and always attentive to your needs/questions. I really enjoyed my time there and felt like my money was well invested. I got a bit sick during the trip and the guides were always ready to assist me and were really preoccupied of my health.

We had an amazing guide (Arghenith alias Pataconcito), which made us laugh and kept our energies up always with his jokes. The translator for our group (Fabian alias El Indio) was well spoken and had a lot of knowledge related to the indigenous tribes from the Sierra and Colombia in general and of their traditions. Our cook Moises always made delicious food that fueled our LONG hikes. Something I noted is that all of them interacted with ALL the farmers, indigenous people and other guides that passed us, which is a note to their presence and their friendliness. Also is something I noted not all guides from other companies did.

I saw that turcol really cares about their tourists, our group was small, and we were always taken care of. I really love that I saw the community impact they make and that they want to contribute to make the mountain better, we had an activity of reforestation which I saw was unique to this tour and makes the trip even better.

I want to thank them again Pataconcito, Indio and Moises for making this trip unforgettable. I will always recommend this company to any friends/family, because I know they will have a great experience and enjoy their time. I recommend this trip to everyone as it is a hard hike, but you will disconnect and enjoy nature and connect to a place like non other. You can really feel the good vibes there.

I did the 4-day Lost City Hike with Turcol and it was an AMAZING experience. Yes it’s expensive but the prices for all the companies are fixed and it is 100% worth it.

Our indigenous guide José was fantastic and taught us so much. Abraham our translator was helpful and good company. Danilo our cook looked after our stomachs!

The hike is challenging, it’s humid and you will sweat a lot. However the scenery is beautiful and the experience is so worthwhile.

Our group was small (7 of us) which meant we got to know the staff really well (many other groups had over 15 people). Everything was well-organised, meals were delicious and we got lots of fruit snacks. Camps were basic but had everything we needed - cold showers, beds and dining areas. Beds were clean and had mosquito nets.

Bring toilet roll and shower gel with you! Pack light as you will need to carry your things but make sure you bring 4 clean pairs of socks. Also my advice is hand wash (with your shower gel) your clothes at the end of the day and then you can alternate. Bring painkillers in case like me, your knees hurt on the downhill!

Highly recommend this once in a lifetime experience!

Me encantó sembrar un árbol caracolí en la parada de Wilmer de la iniciativa Sembrando Huellas para reforestar la Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.

Magnifique trek! Un conseil: demandez à partir en compagnie d'Edwin Rey (guide) et El Indio (traducteur), ils font un binôme parfait, le père d'Edwin ayant participé à la redécouverte du site dans les années 70 et El Indio étant très proches des Khogi! Bref, vous êtes assurés de partir avec un groupe de taille raisonnable qui respectera le rythme de chacun et vous serez servis en récits historiques, culturels, spirituels qui vous en apprendront beaucoup sur la Colombie et cette région !
BONUS: en demandant à partir avec Edwin et Indio, vous contribuez à soutenir leur projet de reforestation du sentier et de la montagne (vraiment utile car les paysans ont coupé beaucoup d'arbres!), je trouve que Turcol gagnerait à augmenter son soutien au projet car c'est une idée géniale et nécessaire pour assurer la pérennité du trek! Encore un énorme merci à toute l'équipe !

Super expérience avec Turcol. Nous avons visité la cité perdue et tout s'est très bien passé. L'équipe guide de turcol composée d'une cuisinière, d'un guide et d'une traductrice a été géniale. José Luis (Dueva de nom indigène) est un super guide, l'un des 2 seuls guides indigènes (sur plusieurs dizaines). Avec Dueva comme guide, on a la possibilité de s'arrêter dans les villages indigènes, de rentrer dans des lieux où ne vont pas les autres groupes et surtout d'avoir les histoires de sa culture native comme aucun autre groupe. On peut poser toutes les questions que l'on souhaite, il est très ouvert d'esprit. C'est passionnant.
Il fait aussi beaucoup de blagues et est très agréable, il prend soin de chacun.
Notre cuisinière Turcol prend toujours de l'avance sur le groupe pour arriver avant nous et préparer à manger pour tous. Elle veille à ce que nous mangions directement quand on arrive sur les points de ravitaillement, on ne manque de rien, les repas sont savoureux et variés.
La traductrice Eliana peut accompagner le groupe. Si certains ne parlent pas espagnol, nous la recommandons fortement car elle apporte une super énergie dans le groupe, elle est très sympa et connaît aussi beaucoup de choses. Elle parle espagnol, anglais, portugais, italien et assez bien français pour discuter, on comprend tout. Cela permet d'assurer de bien comprendre tout ce que raconte Dueva et de rendre le trek vraiment passionnant.
L'organisation de turcol est très bien ficelée, aucun problème du debut à la fin.
Si le prix peut en décourager certains, avec cette équipe vous ne serez pas deçu !

Nous avons fait le trek de la Cité Perdue avec Turcol et je le recommande à 100%. Notre guide, Dueva (José Luis) nous a permis d'apprendre énormément de choses sur la culture indigène et sa propre vie ! Cela a rendu le trek encore plus enrichissant qu'il ne l'était déjà. Nous en sommes revenus avec plein de souvenirs incroyables alors merci à Dueva, et à Eliana notre traductrice !

We had an incredible experience with Turcol they were communicative and extremely efficient for booking our lost city trek. Furthermore they facilitated our requested guide Edwin Rey, who was phenomenal. Edwin and El Indio (our interpreter) were exceptionally knowledgeable, bringing both Edwin’s personal & family history with the site and El Indios indigenous knowledge and experience together in an amazing combination. I highly recommend them both for anyone looking to embark on the trek as the other groups were even using them for their insight and information! Our cook Stiven was also amazing and the high quality food was much appreciated after the strenuous hikes. A five-star adventure we won't forget!

Absolutely not recommendable. We booked the tour from Santa Marta to Palomino and were picked up 1,5 hours too late. The guide spoke only spanish, although we asked for an english translater by booking it. Almost everything was an additional cost. Just a small arepa and rice with chicken was included, but without drinks and sauces.

Better book just a transfer. It's cheaper and almost the same...

Vier Tage kämpften wir uns auf und ab durch den Dschungel, schwitzten bei 30°C und einer extremen Luftfeuchtigkeit wie verrückt. Die Schuhe versinkten nicht nur 1x im tiefen Schlamm. Unsere Guides Victor (Übersetzer) und Louis waren spitze. Sie leisten wirklich großartige Arbeit, trotz enormer körperlicher Belastung. Immer freundlich, hilfsbereit und für jeden ein offenes Ohr. Selbst Gepäck wird getragen, wenn nötig. Die Versorgung in den Camps und unterwegs war top! Keiner ging hungrig vom Tisch. Selbst Süßigkeiten gab es zum Nachtisch. Alle paar km kann man mit reichlich Obst Energie auftanken. Man braucht wirklich nicht viel. 2 kurze Hosen und 2-3 Shirts reichen aus. Nachts wird es nicht wirklich kühl. Nach 10 min gehen, ist man eh klatschnass. Ich empfehle Klopapier mitzunehmen. Es ist sehr knapp bemessen und oft alle. Ein paar gute Trekkingschuhe mit rutschfester Sohle sind wichtig. Insgesamt eine wirklich anstrengende Tour, aber klare Empfehlung für gesunde Menschen! Besonderen Dank an Victor und Louis!!! Beide haben einen sehr anstrengenden Job. Nach der Tour müssen sie gleich wieder die Gäste bedienen, denn Pause gibt es für sie nicht. Ich hoffe sie werden gut bezahlt!!

Aunque la agencia cumplió con lo pactado, consideramos que Santa Marta ha desmejorado muchísimo en temas de turismo, los tour no valen el precio que cobran…

Fuimos a un recorrido Minca-Taganga, la cascada visitada en Minca (pozo azul) bastante normal e incluso peligroso, nos tocó que tuvieron que rescatar un joven que casi se ahoga por la profundidad de ese pozo… en cuanto a Taganga, la playa pública de esta zona está convertida en un completo desastre, hace algunos años fuimos y la verdad no era así… solo se ve basura, escombros y huele pésimo … esto es algo que los turistas usualmente no ven porque llegan a Taganga e inmediatamente los suben a una lancha que los pasa de playa a una menos sucia y mas “bonita”…

Las agencias están trabajando por dinero y no por la sostenibilidad del turismo en la zona.

Que mal por Santa Marta. ????????????????????????

Would 100% recommend the lost city trek with Turcol. Everything was excellent. Big shout out to David, Victor and Kelly for making the trek such a good experience. Some of the other companies have really big groups but with Turcol we had a smaller group which made things a lot easier - getting beds in the campsites, eating meals, leaving first in the morning etc.

Trek inoubliable, 4 jours à la recherche de la ciudad perdida. Nous avons eu beaucoup de chance de tomber sur une super équipe de guides : Ingrid, Victor, Mario et Brigitte. Ils ont été très attentionnés, pédagogues et patients. Nous vous les recommandons fortement.
Les repas changent tous les jours, ils sont très compréhensifs sur les régimes alimentaires (végé, sans gluten etc). Il faut le préciser avant le départ.
Les dortoirs étaient étonnement calmes la nuit. Nous avons eu la chance d'avoir des lits à chaque fois.
Concernant les bagages, il y a régulièrement un service permettant de vous les porter. A nos yeux très utiles et pas très chers. Pensez à avoir un petit sac pour l'eau et évitez les affaires inutiles.
Nous étions dans un groupe de 12 personnes. Très agréable, groupe plus petit que ceux des autres agences que nous avons croisé.

Concernant le trek, il faut être un peu en force à cause notamment de la chaleur et de l'humidité. Pensez à prendre de l'anti moustiques.
Mais les paysages sont magnifiques !!

J'ai vraiment eu une belle expérience avec l'équipe de Turcol. Nous étions un petit groupe; uniquement 4 avec une guide; la très attentionné Marianne et notre gentil traducteur Santiago.
Le soir Marianne nous donnait des informations sur les groupes autochtones et la cité perdue, ce que ne semblait pas faire les autres agences.
Je vous recommande fortement Turcol, les prix sont similaires d'une agence à une autre mais celle-ci est sérieuse et à des guides avec plusieurs années d'expérience et cela se reflète sur le terrain.

Tuve una excelente experiencia con turcol visitando la Ciudad Pérdida. El grupo fue apenas de 7 personas, Edwin Rey, fue el mejor que pudimos tener, no solo es hijo de uno de los descubridores del sitio, sino que además vivió varios momentos importantes en el contexto de violencia que atravesó la zona.

Super expérience, ont été un petit groupe, notre guide Eduardo allias Eddy a été top du début à la fin, la nourriture était très bonne, l'hébergement dans les camps aussi, rien a redire, je recommande
