Situé à Sayaboury, à environ 2 heures de Luang Prabang, le centre accueille une trentaine d’éléphants sur un territoire forestier de 530 hectares. Les éléphants y vivent en semi-liberté, dans un paradis naturel situé au bord du lac Nam Tien. Les visiteurs ont la possibilité de découvrir certains des projets de conservation menés par l’équipe de spécialistes passionnés. La formule Back To Wild permet de suivre le programme de ré ensauvagement des éléphants.

We stayed in the private rooms with our family. It’s quite a distance from restaurant up lots of stairs. Our room had a literal bees nest in the walls. We were told that they tried to get rid of them before but I guess they were back. We were stung and were moved into the room next door. No mosquito netting on the windows meant having to keep them closed in 30+ degree heat. A fan would be nice.
Bathrooms swarmed in ants and other bugs. We’ve stayed in many jungle accommodations, including deep in the Amazon, and this was the most uncomfortable.
The bungalows would have been a better choice for us.
The actual elephant tours and adventure are great, but you can tell the resort has seen better days. There seems to have been no maintenance in the last 3 years.
I think we would have preferred going to another sanctuary in Laos.
