Avec mon.compagnon, F. FLOCH, nous avons séjourné 1 semaine dans l'Hôtel de la Croix Blanche. Hôtel très bien placé, sur une très jolie petite placé et juste à côté de l'abbaye.

All members of our classic car group were thrilled with our stay in your charming hotel and with the exceptional and friendly service from all your team. The 18 rooms were delightful (particularly our room 8 - thank you!), and the pool provided great relief after some hot driving days. The parking was easily found and just what we needed for our 1950/60s Giuliettas.

The quirky layout of the hotel was perfect for socialising outside in the shade and enjoying indoor or outdoor dining with delicious dishes and wines. The location in the centre of beautiful Fontevraud was perfect.

So thank you again for all the arrangements that worked out so wonderfully and were hugely enjoyed by all.

We weren't quite sure what to expect at La Croix Blanche because we have limited experience with hotels in the Logis chain and they often appear to be old-fashioned from the outside. But La Croix Blanche turned out to be great -- it is in the heart of the town square directly across from the Abbey. We were greeted warmly, put our bikes in their secure indoor storage, and went up to our room (second floor, overlooking the flower filled courtyard). The room was spacious, had a sofa and chair to relax in, a modernized bathroom, and furnishings in good condition (although a little old fashioned). The weather was mild and because our room overlooked the courtyard, we could leave the window open a bit and did not need to ask for a fan (no a/c). Since it was a Saturday night, I had made a reservation at the adjoining restaurant (good thing, because it was extremely busy due to an evening event at the Abbey). The menu du jour was delicious, served quickly, and left us totally stuffed after a day's bike riding. The breakfast buffet was very complete and served in a spacious room on the property overlooking the courtyard. The hotel was also happy to store our bags the next morning for a few hours so we could tour the Abbey.

Bon emplacement, mais service très décevant.

L’hôtel est bien situé et les chambres sont plutôt confortables, mais le service laisse clairement à désirer.

Des frais supplémentaires de 25€ m'ont été facturés pour une arrivée avant 15h30, malgré un prix de chambre de 200€ la nuit. Pire encore, un autre supplément de 25€ m’a été prélevé au moment du départ pour un check-out dépassant l’heure prévue d’à peine une heure. Aucune compréhension ni flexibilité, malgré mes remarques à la réception.

Par ailleurs, aucun fer à repasser disponible en chambre, ce qui est surprenant à ce niveau de gamme.

Au final, une gestion rigide et peu orientée client, qui donne le sentiment qu’on privilégie les petits profits immédiats au détriment de l’expérience. Très décevant.

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour. Le personnel est vraiment sympathique, le restaurant délicieux, et la chambre avec terrasse parfaite pour profiter du cadre. Idéalement situé devant l'Abbaye, c'est un bon point de départ pour visiter les chateaux et vignobles des alentours.

Had lunch in the beautiful courtyard and it was lovely. 39€ for three courses. Starter was a mushroom pie with cheese sauce, followed by chicken in creamy sauce with pureed mashed potato, dessert was a mousse with fruit compote. It was that good, we had eaten everything before I could get a photo!!

A Most Delightful Hotel
Review of Hotel La Croix Blanche Fontevraud

We have just returned from the most wonderful and memorable stay in this hotel in such a beautiful situation on the village square. We stayed 2 nights in room 25 on the ground floor and could not fault it. The large bed was incredibly comfortable and we slept well. It was very quiet even with the window open.

The bathroom was large with a walk in shower and lovely white towels. We ate in the hotel both nights and were delighted with the food which was high quality and well cooked. The breakfast buffet was also very pleasant and filling.

We thought this village and this hotel were among the loveliest we have ever stayed in and we have travelled all over the world. The ambience was perfect for the setting of the magnificent abbey whose entrance is just 20 metres away. The whole village is picturesque and the hotel felt part of the historic wealth of the setting.

The abbey was just so well worth coming from England for 48 hours for ! The fantastic tombs of the Plantagenet kings and queens are so well preserved and in such a magnificent setting. It seriously had the WOW factor.

I would wholeheartedly recommend this lovely hotel to anyone thinking of visiting this area.

Super étape d'une nuit dans le cadre d'un coffret Smartbox à l'Hôtel de la Croix Blanche. Beaucoup de charme et idéalement placé face à l'entrée de l'abbaye, cet hôtel a su nous ravir sur tous les points... L'accueil chaleureux, la chambre très propre et fonctionnelle avec une excellente literie, un joli bar lounge où prendre l'apéro, le petit déjeuner complet et varié... et également le restaurant testé pour le diner qui propose, dans une très jolie salle, une carte simple et une cuisine excellente. Nous sommes ravis d'avoir pu tester cet hôtel dans lequel nous reviendrons sans hésiter pour d'autres éventuels séjours et nous l'avons recommandé autour de nous.

Un accueil téléphonique franchement déplacé. Si vous n’êtes pas satisfaits de vos divers partenariats avec des chèques cadeaux en tous genres, cela se comprend, mais ayez la décence de gérer ça avec vos partenaires plutôt qu’avec vos clients !!

Comme il est agréable d être reçu avec un sourire et une amabilité non feinte. Je recommande cet établissement pour la qualité de tout son personnel, ainsi que pour ses chambres très propres, son restaurant qui propose une carte simple mais une cuisine de bonne facture et des produits frais avec là également un personnel aimable discret efficace et de bons conseils. Une étape bien agréable qui nous incitera même à faire un détour pour y revenir dormir lors d'un prochain séjour dans la région.

Hôtel très bien placé et Pres de l’abbaye. C’est un ancien bâtiment restauré.|Les salles de restaurant sont joliment décorées . Par contre la taille et la décoration de la chambre sont très décevantes.|La cuisine est goûteuse , les plats sur la carte sont assez variés . Mais si vous avez un box cadeau, le menu propose par La Croix Blanche est très restreint , simple et sans choix. Évidemment, vous pouvez compléter votre menu avec des suppléments !

Delicious lunch. Well worth a visit. As a family of 5 with three teenagers we decided to drop in (without a reservation) on a busy Sunday having been at the brocante in Montsoreau. What a treat! The boys had burgers (the best in France they maintain!), I had the fish of the day (salmon with risotto) and my husband had steak. All beautifully cooked, all yummy. And the house white - incredible! All in all a wonderful experience. Will visit again.

Comfortable, historic Logis with lovely ground floor public rooms and pretty terrace seating. Bedrooms are well-appointed (some being upgraded when we stayed). Plentiful parking. The dining room is a well-oiled machine. The Abbey is a few metres away. Breakfast substantial though more expensive than most. Charming, central setting in this pretty village.

Hôtel très agréable, chambre offrant un bon confort et une belle vue sur une terrasse extérieure arborée et très plaisante. Parking accessible.
Nous avons dînés au Restaurant de l'hôtel, le menu était vraiment excellen et le service de qualité.
Le petit déjeuner est servi dans une autre aile , salle feutrée, très beau décor et le buffet à volonté varié , buffet à la Française et à l'Anglaise.
Je recommande cet endroit.

I would like to highlight the staff for being very kind and friendly, as well as the good breakfast.||However, while the exterior of the hotel is quite charming, the rooms themselves were somewhat disappointing. I would rate it more as a low 3-star hotel, as the rooms are very simple—almost resembling a student dorm. They lack hooks, comfort, and a cozy, warm atmosphere.||Additionally, cleanliness could be improved. There was visible dust behind the nightstand, the bathroom tiles appeared dark, and the shower leaked between the doors, flooding the entire floor

Chambre confortable, bonne literie
L'isolation phonique est à revoir, le confort de l'hôtel rattrappe largement ce désagrément.
Le buffet du petit déjeuner est copieux, convient à tous les goûts, que vous soyez sucré ou salé ,tout est prévu !

Nous avons vraiment apprécié un séjour de deux nuits à La Croix Blanche pour fêter un anniversaire. Tout, de la réservation en ligne à la communication avant l'arrivée, en passant par la réception et le service, était exceptionnel. La nourriture servie dans la salle du petit-déjeuner et le restaurant étaient merveilleux, tout comme le personnel. La soupe à l'oignon est à tomber par terre ! Merci tout le monde!

Nous nous somme rendu dans cette établissement grasse à un cadeau que l'on nous a fait via une Wonderbox d'une valeur de 300€, pour 2 nuits avec un ou deux dîner(s) et petits déjeuners pour 2 personnes.
L'ors de la réservation nous avons indiqué être en possession de cette wonderbox.

A la fin de notre séjour nous avons eu la mauvaise surprise d'avoir à nous acquitter d'un montant de 163€ pour avoir demander un lit pour 2 personne au lieu de 2 lit d'une personne et avons eu un supplément pour nos 2 diners.

Total de l'opération : 463€ pour 2 nuits

Madame, pour conclure ces échanges stériles, je confirme que nous n'avons pas eu les 2 dîners puisque dès le premier soir, nous avons dû nous acquitter d'un montant de 41 euros sans nous donner la moindre explication au restaurant (voir photo jointe).
Ensuite, la mésentente vient du fait que je n'ai pas demandé une chambre "meilleure" comme vous le dîtes. J'ai seulement souhaité un lit double, ce qui m'a coûte 50 euros pour 2 nuits.

Nous avions réservé via une box pour un dîner, une chambre et le petit déjeuner pour 2 personnes + une visite de cave avec dégustation.
La veille de notre arrivée l'hôtel nous envoie une confirmation nous indiquant que ce sera en lits jumeaux, que la formule du dîner a changé et que nous avons un avoir de 20€ par personne sur la carte ce qui correspond à un plat.
Quant à la visite, le dimanche c'est fermé et le samedi il y avait un problème de personnel et donc pas de visite possible.
La chambre était correcte mais sans double vitrage. Le matin nous nous sommes réveillés sans chauffage ni eau chaude.
Il a fallu réclamer pour avoir droit à une chambre avec un lit double et un dîner.
Je pense qu'il faut éviter d'y aller avec une box car rien ne correspond.
L'hôtel est toutefois très bien placé juste à côté de l'abbaye.
