Such an amazing find, I actually want to keep it to myself
This book shop and little cafe in Perigueux is a simply unique concept, the owner is a great host,makes you feel so welcome, he has a wealth of material
He let's you sit have a cuppa and read the books
It is so easy to engage in conversation with fellow customers, makes you want to return and return
He has a great selection of teas ,amazing scones and cookies

Boukie’s bookshop is the beating cultural heart of Perigueux for English speaking admirers of France and French people who want a taste of English. David and his wife Quitterie should be very proud of the warm and welcoming space they have created. French-English conversation every Friday at 17.30h is a highlight. And don’t miss the coffee and outstanding scones.

Fantastic English Language Bookshop, wonderful owner, lovely cafe!

David, the owner, runs this bookstore with his whole heart and the knowledge that comes from many years of bookstore experience. He's great at recommending what you're looking for!

Boukie's is really three different things:

A place to get new release and second-hand English books, including a great middle grade / young adult fiction and children's section.

A lovely cafe to have a coffee, tea, smoothie, or slice of cake.

A hub for the international and multilingual community in Périgueux. Stop in to check out the weekly events!

If you are looking for a place in Perigueux where you can find a wide variety of books in English and second-hand titles in French, or just looking for a delicious coffee and good conversation, Boukie’s Bookshop is the ideal place.
The cultural diversity within the bookstore is magical! In the same space there are people of different nationalities such as Japanese, Brazilians, Irish, English and French all using English for communication. A welcoming and unique place!
David and Quitterie are charming and are always looking to provide the best service for their customers who almost always end up becoming friends. It’s my favorite place in Perigueux, everyone is welcome, all ages and nationalities have space inside Boukie’s!

Incredible, high quality single origin coffee here. Did not expect to find this level of quality in Perigeux! Plus the owner was very friendly and a good conversationalist. Great selection of english books too.
You can get double shot cortados and flat whites here!

We discovered this bookstore/cafe today while spending the afternoon walking around the city. The owner David is exceptionally friendly, stocks a wonderful selection of English books, and serves the most delicious coffees and espressos. He takes wonderful pride in coffee, and cafe culture. Def recommend as a wonderful place to buy a book, or sip coffees and have a great conversation!

We recently spent a month in the charming town of Perigueux, and feel lucky to have found Boukie’s! Boukie’s turned out to be one of our very favorite stops/hangouts. Owner David is friendly, inviting and always willing to have a convo on books. The shop itself is well stocked with interesting titles. You’ll find friendly people willing to help you with your Française, and there are some comfy (fab vintage) chairs inviting you to sit and stay a bit. Hot drinks, cold drinks and baked goodies are available to satisfy your snack needs. We especially enjoyed popping in on Market Days for a chat and to snap up a book or two. If you are in Perigueux stop by for a coffee and a good book. Tell David we said hi!

Endroit particulièrement agréable ! Beau choix de livres en anglais, bons conseils et dialogue sympa avec le personnel (en anglais ou français !). Au top. Je n'ai pas testé le café mais j'adore le principe de pouvoir boire une boisson chaude dans ce Bookshop.

Enfin un lieu où l'on peut acheter des livres en anglais, contrairement à de nombreuses grandes enseignes de librairies comme Marbot ou Cultura qui n'en propose que très peu.
Il y a même des livres de seconde main en français et en anglais !
Nous nous sommes arrêtés pour prendre un thé et un café mais quelle merveilleuse surprise de voir un si jolie café-librairie à Périgueux ☺️

Le chocolat chaud est une tuerie.

Une pépite ! Venus acheter un livre, nous somme restés boire un thé délicieux et manger un gâteau. Au milieu de cette déco topissime et chaleureuse, nous avons discuté, lu et joué à des jeux de société. Le propriétaire est très accueillant, gentil et souriant. Ma fille de 9 ans a également adoré cet endroit. Ce lieu est une merveille. Un incontournable à Périgueux. Je recommande +++

Belle librairie qui permet à mes enfants d'explorer la lecture dans la langue de Shakespeare. Apporte de la vie dans le centre ville c'est merveilleux !

Un lieu atypique où vous trouverez un grand choix de livres en anglais pour tous les âges, de la bande dessinée à la philosophie. Vous pourrez aussi déguster un bon café, un thé ou un nectar de fruit et discuter dans la langue de Shakespeare. À ne pas manquer !

Super endroit qui combine salon de thé et librairie anglophone. Le lieu est très chaleureux, le propriétaire est serviable et à l'écoute (et pour la ville cela est assez exceptionnel pour être souligné). En plus le lieu est super adapté pour les enfants, qui ont de quoi bouquiné, dessiné et joué.
C'est la bonne surprise de la rue Taillefer à Périgueux. Il y a une très faible offre de salon de thé, et cela fait plaisir quand un commerçant a vraiment compris les besoins des gens. Foncez-y, c'est super.
