First of all, don't attend this excursion with a small kid. If whale(s) is/are not found during first two hours of the tour, it becomes really hard and unpleasant time not only for children, but for older people as well. It is mainly because of the waves on open ocean and changing spots. They did send instructions to us before booking this tour and warned that this might not be for a small kid, but we decided to go as we saw amazing photos of whales on the internet. Other companies have limit of 7 yrs/8 yrs old, while they let our son who is 3 yrs old to attend. Our son was behaving extremely well, but tour lasted 4.5 hrs, so for any small kid this would be unpleasant. We carefully read shared instructions and spent time preparing our son to behave properly at the boat, which he did. To conclude, they must define age limit and should be at least 7yrs as per what we experienced. If they keep letting small kids attending in the future, it will only justify that they care only about the profit and to have more people in the tour. Tour operator has to understand that no kid in the world would enjoy over 4 hours ride on the small boat in the middle of ocean. It is not sufficient they warn parents that it might be difficult time for their kids. They simply can't let kids younger than 7 yrs old to attend this tour.

When you spend almost $400 for the tour, you have some expectations. In our tour we didn't manage to see anything, You come to Bora Bora usually for 5-7 dsys. If you spend almost entire day and you don't see anything, you will of course be dissapointed. We fully understand that if depends on the nature and it can't be guaranteed that whales wil be seen, so I suggest to change tour name from "Watching Whales" to "Searching for Whales".

If you are ready to risk and you don't mind being on waves, then this tour might be for you. In case of all others, I encourage you not to book this tour, as there is a high likelihood of not finding any whales.

I know in advance that tour operator will immediately respond to this negative feedback and start to defend his company saying that our son was sleeping during entire tour and that we didn't pay attention. It is simply not correct and all people on the group could justify that. How you will know that I am right, just try to see Simon's replies to negative comments. I couldn't find any negative coment, where he would reply in a professional manner and try to take client's feedback as constructive.

Client is always at the first place, and Simon has to understand that no man in the world would be satisfied after spending money and time to see nothing. Let's be fair and objective.

Since it is a matter of nature, tour guide must provide something else to clients if he realizes that no whales will be seen. For instance, going to some nice part of the islands, lagoon, etc. to see nature beauty. At least something at the end of excursion to compensate for not seeing whales. Even though peple are booking this tour only because of the whales, some other activity as back up, could just improve this tour and people's experience.

I am giving two stars only because they put a lot of effort and tried to move to a couple different spots to find whales. Tour lasted 4.5 hrs instead of planned 3.5. Nevertheless, we feel dissaponted and not satisfied with transparency and communication.

Most magical experience with Simon in Bora!! We were able to spot 6 mantas and were by ourselves without no other tourists. We then went outside the reef to go to the drop-offs and on our way Simon spotted dolphins. We were able to approach them safely and get in the water - incredible experience I would never forget! Simon is passionate, authentic and very knowledgeable of his island and animals in the water. We highly recommend him, this was our 2nd tour with him and each tour seems unique.
Merci Simon et Laurence, a la prochaine :)
