Great location just outside the busy city but across from the train station that gets you into the center of Paris in 30 minutes. New staff because it just opened 9 months ago but they are courteous.
Worst part of the experience was the “Candied Burnt End Beef Tacos”. They were inedible with the stale popcorn topping that looked like cheese but was just a stale few popcorn kernels that will choke you if you try to simply swallow the bite with it. I know what you’re thinking, who has tacos in Paris but it was late and it was the only hot option on the menu. When the waiter says it’s not his favorite, take that response as “Run Away and don’t order!” I was warned but I did it anyway.

The worst experience ever. The room 1005 on the 10th floor.
I thought some reconstructions are in place so I hoped it will stop in the evening but it did not. I discovered there is a service lift just behind the tiny wall of my room.
The staff was using the lift during the night also. I usually do not have light sleep, but this was terrible. The lift woke me up at 1am, 2:30, 3:30...
The hotel was fully booked, no chance for room change.

The small mirror in the bath room was broken and fixed by a duck tape...

When I reported these issues at the checkout, there was no reaction from the receptionist. nothing like "sorry, we will get it fixed". it was just bye.

WiFi asked me for registration, but the only I could browse was Marriott web.

259 Euro per night...

The positive surprise: wireless charger for phone in the room.

Nel complesso la struttura è bella, sonno ottimo, il letto più che decente. Ho apprezzato la possibilità del refill gratuito dell'acqua. Ottimo l'orario di checkout (12PM), ancorché non in zona proprio centrale comunque il quartiere mi è parso tranquillo. L'unica pecca è riguarda la "logistica" del bagno, seguono quella scuola di pensiero che vuole il wc relegato in uno sgabuzzino, ovvero separato dalla stanza da bagno, scomodo, molto.

Disappointing is an understatement. This hotel is a disaster. Horrible service. Nobody knows whats going on. Lied about my upgrade. Lied about parkings. And definitely dont know what customer service means. The lounge is a joke. Rooms are extremely small. Very shocked with the low quality of service for a 4 star marriott.

This was our first time to stay at this Marriott property; I am Marriott Titanium, so we received an upgraded room and free breakfast. The rooms are quite nice, housekeeping is very good, and the continental breakfast is extensive (you can also order hot egg dishes). ||My only complaints are that the front desk staff had a bit of an attitude—basically unhelpful. I’m seeing this repeatedly at Marriott’s; it’s hard to understand why front-facing staff do not have better training (and attitudes!). And—no—I’m not a Titanium Elite who feels entitled and who has to be carefully looked after! I just expect the same common courtesies that anyone would expect and appreciate. ||Hotel is great otherwise; restaurant staff was wonderful! The only drawback is that the location is a bit distant from the tourist sites downtown. But we knew that beforehand.

I came from London to meet my husband in Paris who came from San Francisco, I sat on the bed and its plastic because they forgot to put the bed sheet! Is this the Marriott ?!!!

Update-
I've revised this to a 3 star as the staff really tried hard to make things works for us and happy. We stayed there for 7nights with housekeeping being the only issue as they sometimes miss an item or do not clean up the room.

Nevertheless, location is awesome and very convenient.

Hotel swoje lata ma i jeżeli ktoś oczekuje nie wiadomo czego to się rozczaruje specjalnie dla gości z Polski ta uwaga ....
To że Marriot to nie znaczy luksus od razu.
Jeżeli Polacy oczekujecie luksusu to nie ta dzielnica i nie ten hotel żeby uciąć spekulacjom i rozczarowaniom.....
Cena w Paryżu taka jak powiedzmy w IBISIE w Warszawie luksus zaczyna się od 400 euro w górę i nie piszcie więcej rzeczy typu.......za tą cenę oczekiwałem więcej ????

Very long slow line at reception. If you can get past that. This is a fantastic property. |You can take the RER to the Eiffel Tower or Disneyland Paris.| I never felt unsafe. |The bar was great. |Nice spread for club lounge and breakfast. |Noise control was great. ||Michel (host I believe) at breakfast /restaurant was amazing. Kind. Engaging. Respectful. Not just to me. To every guess he came in contact with. I appreciate someone who has an eye for details. We need to recognize and praise people for excellent service.

Bathrooms in lobby and guest rooms backed up. No air conditioning - and we had multiple rooms all having a problem. Staffs only answer was I’ll send a technician and then admitted they did not follow up. Clearly not to Marriotts standards.

We recently spent four wonderful nights at the Paris Marriott Rive Gouche hotel in Montparnasse. the hotel is conveniently located near several Metro stops, offering quick and easy access to all of Paris landmarks. The neighborhood is safe, quiet, and primarily residential yet is a very short (5 min) to the bustle of Place Denfert-Rochereau. There are several excellent dining options in the area that offer everything from casual international cuisines to more traditional French bistros. The hotel is very clean with a more contemporary decor. The multi-lingual staff was attentive and professional. Our room was very spacious and offered impressive city views across Paris to the Sacre Couer and beyond. The room amenities were as you expect from a well-run Marriott.

We stayed at the Marriott rive gauche Paris hotel on April 2025. During our stay at the hotel, several service gaps became apparent—areas that, if addressed, would greatly enhance the overall guest experience.||Key Points|• No Bellhop Service|There was no staff member available to handle luggage upon arrival or departure, forcing us to carry our own suitcases through the lobby and corridors.|• Inadequate Breakfast Provision|Although breakfast is served until 10:30 AM, by 9:00 AM the bread had already run out, indicating poor stock management and inconsistent replenishment of morning offerings.|• Insufficient Heating|The air-conditioning unit in our room was unable to provide adequate warmth, leaving the space uncomfortably cold even after adjusting the thermostat.|• Courteous but Ineffective Reception Staff|While the front-desk team was friendly and polite, they were unable to resolve any of the above issues when approached, resulting in only partial or no solutions.

Status- Marriott Bonvoy Titanium Elite Member. The hotel rooms were comfortable but looking tired. The Brasserie had a great breakfast and the staff were lovely. The location is convenient and close to the the Butte-aux-cailles quarter near the hotel where there are great restaurants and interesting street art. But, we stayed for a week and had issues with housekeeping EVERY day. Until I started requesting (in person) at the front desk (housekeeping does NOT pick up from the room) our rooms were NEVER cleaned. But even when I made special requests at the front desk I was often ignored. In fact on some days I had to make two requests. It was so bad I began to feel the issues with the housekeeping were more like a sick joke and we were the victims. The hotel might be understaffed but that is not our problem. There is an “executive lounge” but it is a joke- it is extremely small with insufficient seating, and I often families eating on the floor! If you want a relaxing stay I wouldn’t recommend here. The hassles with this hotel basically ruined our Paris experience for us. Hard to believe it is a Marriott. Definitely our worst Marriott experience. I feel we should be compensated for the lack of service we intentionally paid for.

The location is good if you want the bus or metro, otherwise, not much around. I had to ask 3 times for a bathrobe before I got one. The room was not serviced until close to 4 and I had to call them one day to come. The elite lounge is very small, no room to sit, the food was not up to par with other European cities. The breakfast area was also not big enough for the number of people that got breakfast. As a Lifetime Platinum, was not made to feel special. Got a high floor room, but view was of the south, and they gave us an accessible room, which we did not ask for. Had to listen to the rattling elevators all night.

Unfortunately the Rive Gauche is Gone!
We had to visit this summer ourselves to find out. Locals told us hotel so dependent on foreigners it could not survive pandemic. Here are recent photos we took.

I lived here From 2017-2019 and it was terrific. Unfortunately I think Covid wiped this hotel out. The Marriott app was not listing it as a possible stay this summer. And website continually say sold out. I assume they went out of business or Marriott sold them. If someone knows actual situation please post.

One of the older dimmed hotels... had a few long-term stays here when the room ceiling collapsed at the coffee bar area in the wee morning... receptionists wasn't trained to handle - so I changed my choice of hotel for long-term stays thereon.
