This was hands down, one of the best lunches we had in our entire month long tour of France and northern Italy and probably one of the best lunches I've ever had in France actually. We totally stumbled upon it and so glad we booked, I'm dreaming about it every day since.
The service from the waiting staff was incredibly welcoming throughout, especially as I can only half speak french and despite being very busy they still had the patience to give me the time to communicate.
We had our 4 month old with us and they made fantastic accommodations for us to squeeze our pram in, into what is not exactly a vast space so it really was super kind as I can see other venues turning us down for the same.
We had a very good champagne as apertif to start, well of course we did in Reims, but the rest of the wine list was amazing too and we had probably one of the nicest Beaujolais we've had in a while, so much so we've tracked it down and bought a case.
And then of course the food!
I mean substance, and quality throughout. Amazingly well presented, perfect portion sizes, diverse yet well tied together flavours, just delicious all over. We had the terrine to start which we shared and was plenty, followed by the plat du jour of red mullet and crevettes and I had the tartare... of which I've had a few over the years but nothing as to compare to this in not just looks but taste! All future tartares have now been ruined haha. And of course the sides, great chips, full flavoured veggies, well seasoned and dressed salads... come on everyone else, just take note and do more of this please.
The kitchen team and chefs are outstanding. And what's more the chefs came out to join and chat with some of the customers after. What an experience and we'll actually make a point of going back to Reims just to go here again.
Thank you everyone at the Bistro de la Poste, you absolutely rock!
