Hostel à terrasse situé devant le parc principal de San Gil offrant l'opportunité de rencontrer des compagnons de voyage

Idéalement situé devant le parc principal de San Gil, cet hostel qui a fêté ses 15 ans en 2024 offre une belle terrasse surplombant le parc, une piscine et deux cuisines bien équipées. Parking privé pour ceux qui sont véhiculés. Conviviale et animée le plus souvent, l'auberge offre l'opportunité de rencontrer des compagnons de voyage. Les chambres et dortoirs sont spacieux et propres, et l'équipe de Sam est disponible pour donner les bons plans de la région. Une flopée d'activités sportives est proposée, et le soir l'ambiance est plutôt sympa sur la terrasse.

Cant speak highly enough of Sams VIP!!! This place has it all. Best location right on the main plaza with a balcony that looks over the square. The staff and Sam himself are more that accommodating with every question I had. It felt like a home away from home! Ended up staying for a full week. :)

Nice hostel for sure, it has a nice aesthetic and it's pretty clean. The internet is really good if you have to work. The one thing I found annoying is that in order to enter the hostel you have to ring the bell and sometimes it takes a long time for the staff to open the door, which sometimes is problematic when you're carrying heavy stuff or are exhausted and just want to get in or maybe when you have a bathroom emergency. So be prepared for waiting. Another thing I found annoying was that one of the receptionists is constantly on her phone doing phone calls or watching videos and really ignores you when you have a question or so.

Old school hostel where everybody gathers on the rooftop patio at night to discuss the day’s adventures and plan tomorrow’s. This sort of place has gone out of style since COVID, which is a real shame.

However, it was only because of Mileyn, one of the reception people, that the place worked. She spoke English, was enthusiastic about getting people to go on adventures, and arranged a driver to the BGA airport (if you’re considering flying, look at the new local airport’s M/F flights)

Without Mileyn the place would be 3 or 4 stars because:
-cold showers
-hard beds
-no group activities
-loud
It’s still by far the best and most social hostel in town so you should stay here.
