A small museum in Akureyri but for its relatively small size, this museum is able to successfully inform and educate, in my view. The museum itself was laid out in a logical, easy to follow manner, showcasing what life in Akureyri was like in the past. Exhibits have concise, bilingual explainers both in Icelandic and also English. There’s complimentary coffee too, near the entrance. Worth a short visit if you’re ever in the Gamla Akureyri area!

Have some mixed feelings about this museum: the themes appeared haphazard to me. There was a large collection of all kinds of musical instruments, Icelandic bands and singers. Also a room with objects of bygone times. Funny, sure, but similar collections could be made for just any Western country.

Not worth it. Too expensive for what is offered. Toys in toys museum are standard ones which can be found in everybody home, and the main museum (where you buy tickets) contains totaly unconected exhibitions.

Das Heimatmuseum und das benachbarte Nonni-Haus sind einen Besuch wert. Man erfährt einiges über die lokale Geschichte und damit auch über die früheren Lebensverhältnisse der Menschen hier.

Très joli petit musée à l'intérieur d'une vieille maison/ferme typique avec le toit végétalisé. De très vieux objets sont exposés dans les diverses pièces jusqu'a du mobilier assez récent. Le musée est juste à côté d'une chspelle typique entourée de son cimetière. Vaut le détour !
