The Long Man of Wilmington is a large hill figure located on the side of Windover Hill near Wilmington village, in the South Downs National Park in East Sussex, England. The figure, which is about 235 feet (72 meters) tall, depicts a human figure with outstretched arms, and is believed to have been cut into the chalk hillside during the early medieval period, sometime between the 5th and 11th centuries. The exact origins and meaning of the Long Man are not known for certain, but it is thought to have been associated with pre-Christian pagan beliefs.
