It is difficult to write a review because words truly can not express Boyd’s. It’s all about location but the staff are amazing. To put together a group of employees like Boyd’s have done speaks volumes. From the office to the grounds staff, they are wonderful. There’s always a smile and a wave. We spent four months at Boyd’s and felt like we were leaving family when we left. The campground is well maintained. They have a lot of activities that will give you a unique Key West experience. The pool is wonderful and the dock is great. We are excited to spend next winter at Boyd’s.

We stayed 2 nights here and used the boat launch as well. The boat launch is $50 and at first I thought that was pricey. But they launch your boat for you and then store your trailer. They’ll put your boat in the boat slip and that makes it really convenient.

The campsites are varied: tiny primitive sites for tents, small van sized sites, larger RV sites, and even a couple of tiny houses. The pool is very nice. The views are gorgeous. There were several shower houses and bathrooms throughout the campground. They were very clean, well-maintained, and safe.

We Uber’ed to Duval St for $21. There’s a food truck on site with Cuban food. And a couple of restaurants in easy walking distance. There’s also a Tom Thumb convenience store right nearby. And the on site camp store is pretty nice too.

The only reason I didn’t give this 5 stars is the beach area. I was disappointed a bit with the beach. There’s a ‘no swimming’ sign at the beach. I don’t think there’s anywhere to swim in the ocean direst the campground. But the pool certainly does make up for that small piece.

All the staff were so very nice and helpful. We had a problem with our boat and they didn’t mind pulling it out of the slip and then re-launching it once we checked our drain plugs.

Pulito, gentili, posto tenda spazioso e con tavolino.
Se penso che due anni fa, vicino a Panama Beach, ho speso la stessa cifra per un posto in cui non ci stava la mia tenda da tre posti.

My experience was a nice campground and only campground you can access Key West with your street legal golf cart LSV. Nice friendly staff. Sites were nice level. Pool was nice and warm, I had no issues. Do keep in mind it's so close to KeyWest they have the chickens and site size is not as expanded as some other inland campgrounds but we enjoyed our stay.

What a gem of a campground. We stayed on waterfront site which was amazing. Grounds are very well maintained with plenty of palm trees for looks as well as shade. Sites are not large but this is prime real estate and they do a great job of creating privacy barriers to help with that. The staff is incredibly friendly and made us feel like family during our two plus week stay. I know our labs would have asked for a dog park or dog run of sorts but they got over it because plenty else to do. Great proximity to old town Key West and we have also discovered the hidden gems that are located right here on Stock island, while at first, seems very industrial, we found great harbor restaurants, French bakery and amazing pizza place all in walking distance. There is a charm to it for sure. Thanks for an amazing stay Boyds! and we can’t wait to come back again next year!!! And the year after!

I can't say enough good things. The staff was amazing, the amenities were perfect. The location to Key West can't be beat. We stayed in a primitive campsite and had no issues.

We stayed for 2 weeks and enjoyed our time there. The staff was wonderful and responsive. It’s beautiful campground. The facilities including the grounds, bathroom and heated pool were spotless. Surrounding area is sketchy and not bike friendly. The only issue we had were other campers walking through our campsite. We will return but not stay in the “beach front” campsite.

We stayed a Boyd’s for a week in March and had the best time! This place is a family owned and operated campground and you truly feel like family here. We have a 41 ft fifth wheel and they backed in and pulled out our rig for us since it would be to tight with the truck. At Boyd’s, they also have an amazing pool, daily activities, and you are minutes to so many great restaurants on site and off site. This is the perfect campground for exploring key west and the best campground on the keys due to the amazing location and service you receive here! We stayed at a Primitive Campsite with water view. It was the perfect location to see the sunrise. The reservation/check in/check out process was very smooth. Staff is very attentive.

Sure are very close together, but they have all the amenities. Swimming pool, plenty of shower/bathrooms, full hookups. A little expensive, but you are on Key West. Hundred bucks for a tent site with power and water. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

The facilities at Boyds are extremely well kept, despite not being brand new. The pool was clean and warm, and bathrooms clean as well. There is an excellent food truck on site which is definitely a great plus. The location is perfect for biking around Stock Island, and we took full advantage of the access. It's also a quick drive into Key West (although parking is a nightmare and expensive.)

All this said, as a family with four young children, we would not return to Boyd's. The environment and activities are not designed for families, and there is no outdoor space for kids. We would have been so grateful if someone would have taken the time to let us know that Boyds, at least during the winter months, is really a 55 and up party place. The extra curricular were catered to an older crowd, the pool was a party place EVERY day with lots of other campers outwardly annoyed by kids in the pool. A group of kids playing in the pavilion were told to "quiet down" after the campers next to the pavilion complained the kids woke them up....at 10:00 am.

All in all, if you are and older adult and like to have a good time, this is a great option for you. However, if you are a young family, I would personally look elsewhere, especially considering the very high cost to camp here.

Difficult to sleep and not customer friendly. Other than the waterfront sites, which there are only a few of, there are some trees around the property that have lots of roosters in them that start making a ton of noise around 4:30 am everyday. I was fortunate because I had one of the waterfront sites (over $250 per night) and I kept my AC on and windows closed so I was able to sleep. I asked in the office about some return dates and was given 2 options. I asked them to use the credit card I used for my visit to reserve our next stay but they said they needed the actual card. I told the lady I would go to my trailer to get the card but when I came back a few minutes later, she told me they gave the dates to someone else. Not my idea of customer friendly so I went looking for some better options and found them like Bluewater Key RV and Sugerloaf KOA.

We stayed for 4 nights the campground was nice spots close together, the bathrooms and showers were very clean. Laundry facilities clean and well kept. About 4.5 miles from Duval street downtown. Many Ubers, taxis, golf cart rentals. I would have rated it a 5 star however one pool for the amount of people. Very crowded. We had a great time exploring the keys!

The office staff is awesome, we've stayed here 2 years for only a month, jan/feb, we're hoping to make it longer in the future. They plan lots of activities, and keep a super Clean campground. Boyds really cares about All the campers. We have made friends here that will last a lifetime. THANK YOU BOYDS!!

Honest review time, i would shell out the extra cash next time to stay in a motel nearby. Was told on the phone i couldn't bring my jeep renegade and stay at a primitive campsite so we came in a toyota corolla making fitting everything we needed not possible. We get to the campsite and see plenty of suvs parked in the primitive site areas. The bathrooms were cleaned well, never smelled bad and the showers were nice. Only complaint in the doors on the stalls were not tall enough and i had a few people peer over the top of the door at me while i was using the stall. Same issue with some of the shower areas. Tent site was just big enough to fit a small suv and a 4 person tent. The site has a picnic table and a charcoal grill. The pathway is nicely lit at night so you dont need a bunch of flashlights or anything. We ended up using a small led lantern just at out site. There is a laundry facility on site which worked fine, the pool is great and is heated! The pool area has alot of lounge chairs and some tables. Theres also a play room with a giant connect 4, pool table, and foozball table. The staff was friendly. The campground is kind of a maze and you will probably get lost a few times. Campground is about a 15 minute drive to downtown key west, very reasonable. The 2 biggest things to note when staying here, you are next to an international airport so expect alot of very loud take offs and landings. The planes didnt seem to come in too late though so sleeping was fine with that but it will wake you up bright and early for sure. If the planes dont wake you up, the few dozen roosters that lives here and freely walk around will. These stupid birds were crowing right on schedule with that rising sun, all throughout the day, and wel into the night. Latest crowing i heard was right outside my tent around 2:30am. That being said, key west was awesome, i definitley recommend a snorkeling trip, that was the highlight of the adventure. Also, there is no swimming or fishing here, didnt see many actual swimming areas in key west though, its more bars and resturants.
