Amazing food, really nice service.

Très bon restaurant, jolie décoration à proximité des remparts d’Antibes. Menu à 44€ avec entrée plat dessert. Poitrine de porc excellente, épaule d’agneau avec purée aurait mérité un peu plus de sauce, très bon dessert. Le tarif des vins élevé. Bref, produits frais, du fait maison mais l’addition est toutefois corsée. 40€ pour le menu aurait été plus raisonnable.

A compact restaurant which has an abundance of character and style with a welcoming atmosphere. Very knowledgeable staff, excellent menu choices for quality food. A very enjoyable experience.

Nous somme venu dîner dans ce restaurant un dimanche soir (rare pour un restaurant de cette qualité).
Le cadre est très agréable, très cozy, authentique.
Le service était impeccable, rien à dire c'était parfait.

La présentation des plats était très belle, très minutieuse.
Les plats étaient bons, j'ai pris un menu comprenant la poitrine de porc fumée 24h, l'épaule d'agneau confite avec sa garniture grand mère, et le dôme au chocolat.
Nous avons tous apprécié les plats en général. Sur la poitrine de porc rien à dire la cuisson était parfaite, la sauce délicieuse et la poire fondante et bien assaisonnée.

Néanmoins, bien que la cuisson de l'épaule était bien, la sauce n'était pour moi pas assez corsée, la note aromatique agneau n'était pas assez présente. Quand je prend un plat à base d'agneau, je m'attend à quelque chose de puissant aromatiquement, et j'ai été un peu déçu sur la sauce de l'épaule. La garniture était cependant bien assaisonnées et rééquilibrait ce léger manque aromatique.

Le dessert était très bien, l'association chocolat / glace coco / meringue était très réussie. Seul léger détail, la coque en chocolat était peu être un tout petit peu épaisse et donc un peu dure à casser à la cuillère.

Très bonne expérience, nous avons très bien mangé.
Je recommande, c'est l'un des meilleurs restaurant des remparts que nous avons fait !

A couple of years ago me and my wife had a lovely dinner in this restaurant, so we were really excited to return there. Today we've had here one of the worst dining experiences I can remember in recent years. In a nutshell:

1. We've waited about 40 minutes to be able to order anything. The waitress mostly ignored us after we were seated. Kind of annoying, but we weren't in a rush and we had fond memories from this restaurant from a couple of years ago. Still, it wasn't a great start.
2. Finally the time to order came and with it - another weird episode! The waitress asked us to pick the wine for our dishes while we still haven't had our aperitif! She was also somewhat pushy on what to order - "we recommend this aperitif, starter, main course, dessert". Normally, I don't mind recommendations, but it didn't feel particularly sincere.
3. Here it gets interesting. Our starters were the recommended shrimp lollipops, which were simply 5 boiled shrimps on a stick, with a bit of decoration and some aioli sauce. It was clear they had been prepared in advance and had been stored in a fridge. Not a big deal, we understand that many things are prepared in advance. My wife made a remark that her shrimps were very cold, almost frozen when the waitress asked if we had liked them, and that she was disappointed by them. A bit later the waitress came back to our table and said she had passed my wife's feedback to the chef, who asked us to leave if we were unhappy with how the food was prepared. (!!!) Supposedly for years everyone liked these "amazing" shrimp and we were the first people to complain about them. At first I couldn't believe what was happening - my wife's feedback wasn't particularly harsh and the waitress's English was quite poor, so I wasn't sure whether she really meant we should leave. We told her that we feel that's no way to treat one's customers and that her attitude was quite rude. She didn't offer any form of apology and we left. Good riddance!

All fond memories of the place have been totally erased at this point. We've traveled all over the world, and have visited quite a few nice restaurants, and we've never been involved in anything remotely close to what happened today. I feel sorry for anyone who's refusing to accept feedback, even if they disagree with it. Antibes is full of great restaurants, so do yourselves a favor and visit one of them, instead of this one.

P.S. If the owner is reading the feedback here I'd advise them to train their staff better when it comes to hospitality and customer centricity. It's not normal to get attacked by the staff when you went to restaurant to have some nice time there. My home country Bulgaria is notorious for bad service in restaurants, but what happened today would put the worst Bulgarian restaurant to shame.

Execrable service! Don’t ever go there unless you want to get badly treated.
Horrible person at the reception. We had a booking at 7.30 for 2 people. The restaurant didn’t have a valet, we had to turn around until the valet for a different restaurant accepted to take our car and after trying to find the restaurant (which we were told has a view on the bay but doesn’t) for 15min I decided to give them a call in order to ask them the directions to reach the restaurant. The first host who answer the phone was trying to be helpful but I could hear a hostess screaming at him to pass on the phone as she wanted to know who we are. When she got the phone she immediately wanted to know our name which I gave her and there she started stating that I was too late, as she gave our table away and that we should have been there on time. I went in to explain to her our challenges to reach the restaurant but she did not care and started to get frustrated that I was still trying to discuss the situation and when I asked her whether she could get us another table she proceeded to explain to me that people had to book in advance and that they didn’t have tables laying around, which I proceeded to remind her that I did book a table and that she gave it away while I was looking for their restaurant at that point she really got annoyed and raised her voice at me at that point I just thanked her and hung up. Went to a different restaurant 500m away which received us graciously and with a smile although they were packed.

Très bonne cuisine ,bonne saveur , cuisson maîtrisée produits de qualité, grand professionnel en cuisine. Lieu atypique service rapide. Un peu déçue par les quantites ,rapport quantités/prix un peu élevé .
Bien que le lieu soit atypique il s acompagne de quelques mauvaises odeurs.

Une expérience culinaire vraiment au top ! Le menu recommandé était délicieux, en particulier le thon, il était parfaitement préparé. Le service était très gentil et attentionné. L'ambiance était chaleureuse et accueillante. Nous y avons passée une chouette soirée et on reviendra!

(Réservez une table ainsi vous êtes sûre d’avoir de la place même pour le jour même.)

Delicious shrimp starter, tuna main and dessert.

The food here is good and has been for many years. On our latest visit we were pressured to add a tip to the credit card amount- this is exceedingly rare in France because service is included (‘service compris’) by law. When we questioned this, in French, the owner said service was not included …. which I can only assume is a lie. For that reason we won’t be returning.

Food was reasonably priced (3 courses for $44) but portions are reflective of the price. Dined with my 5 year old and we ordered 2 starters, a main and a dessert to share. She ate more than half of the food served, which says a lot about portion sizes! Service was good and efficient but not the most friendly we have experienced in SoF. Would recommend for alfresco dining but due to the location, there is a lingering smell of sewage which is unavoidable. Would recommend!

Definitely worth a visit, great atmosphere in this quiet little restaurant. The menu is not too elaborate, but the tuna and the desserts were the absolute highlight.

This place was amazing! We enjoyed the food so much! It was the best tuna i ever had. The hostess was very nice and her recomendations were perfect. We will be back soon! Dont mis out on this place

Can't review this restaurant as my booking was cancelled by the restaurant. No idea why. 'The chef' left a message?? No missed calls No sms?? Don't mind if bookings change but hate been lied to by 'the chef'.

Superb experience here. Food is outstanding and the ambience is charming. Husband and wife operation which is impressive and works smoothly. The tuna main course was fantastic. Really recommend this restaurant for a date or family meal. Authentic French experience.

Very unique place which offers exceptional food at a reasonable price. We enjoyed the 3 course menu and were excited about every single course.

Amazing tasting food, very welcoming to me as a celiac. Highly recommend going here. Quaint, romantic and really nice tasting food.

There are several small nice restaurants in Antibes, and not always easy to find. Le Comptoire is a very good example and well worth to try. It is small and serve an excellent french menu with great value for money. Don’t miss the deserts! Reservation recommended.

Ce petit restaurant malgré l’absence de terrasse est une superbe découverte! La pièce est charmante avec une belle décoration feutrée, mais le must est clairement ce qu’il y a dans l’assiette, nous avons pris le menu à 37 euros (entrée plat et dessert au choix à la carte), un régal gustatif avec un accompagnement plats/vins excellent! Nous y reviendrons sans hésiter lors de notre prochaine visite d’Antibes! A ne surtout pas louper..

Ce lieu est une vrai surprise agréable! En arrivant on se retrouve dans un intérieur très authentique qui a été fusionné avec la cuisine semi-gastronomique. Excellent dressing des plats, super bon, prix très correcte.
Un clin d’œil spécial à notre serveuse, la femme adorable qui nous a parfaitement conseillé sur le choix des plats.

très joli cadre dans une vieille maison...dommage qu'il n'y a pas de terrasse...une seule personne a fait tout le service...cuisine aux produits frais, belles assiettes...très bon!
